I appreciate how this video summarizes the story of Gamera: Rebirth, which may be the closest I ever get to seeing the anime itself. But really, I could do without the smartass "analysis." Especially the last part, about deliberately sacrificing millions of innocents to S-Gyaos to buy Gamera time to recover. Gamera itself wouldn't thank you!

Technically Gamera was originally an evil Kaiju, but an enemy of the foundation captured him and rewrote his DNA to make him into the Gamera we all know and love so he could stop the evil Kaijus and the foundation.

The heisei trilogy was the best in the entire franchise. Oh yeah. The pacing and story line was all over the place with this anime
I don't think the target audience cares given they haven't seen a single gamera film since 2006. They got a short in 2015 and that was it. Still been quite a while. They came to see the underrated turtle once again kick ass.
It really wasn't, the episodes were 45 minutes long a piece, the pacing would of been all over the place if the show tried to do what it did within only 20 minute episodes
Yeah, the story was just there to connect the fights. I was ok with that.

My guy gamera's franchise was made FOR kids in the first place.....not a trope if gamera protecting humans, most specifically kids is PART of his character and what differentiates him from godzilla.
@@Kaiju-bm4tsyeah, instead of a Careless, Neutral or even Evil force of Nature like Godzilla, Gamera is more defined for Doing the Exact oppose, Defend and care for the Childrens and the innocents.
And if you think about it, it makes Gamera a Based Kaiju.

Well gamera got corrupted and turned evil and plot armor made him un-evil
(1) Gamera is canonically a good guy (where Godzilla is ambivalently neutral at best). There's a reason one of his better movies in titled "Gamera the Brave." (2) He dips into the Dark Side (literally) when he briefly succumbs to S-Gyaos' red kryptonite or whatever but is brought back to the Light long enough to fire off his Wave Motion Gun at the Foundation's Moonbase.

Kids are stupid.
These monsters aren't on the same level as the monsters from Godzilla or even Pacific Rim. Normal weapons seem to affect them just fine. Given time, the military should have little trouble finishing them off. So, I guess the way to "beat" them is to be lucky enough not to be in their path before they get taken down.
Dude they're about on the same level as pacific rim kaiju as they too were killed by conventional weaponry before the jaeger program was even a thing. A normal nuke kills most PR kaiju except slattern

I’m not gonna lie Gamera rebirth wasn’t really that good like the main character was just kinda babyish for being a year 6 was it? But the monster design were cool and some of the design changes were good but I do feel like Gamera realistically should have just died in many moments in the show but of course PLOT AMOUR

My guy have you not seen anything gamera related prior to rebirth?. The franchise was made FOR kids in the first place and became something that can be watched by people of all ages over time. Gamera protecting humans (especially kids) is part of his character. Especially when he has the ability to form physical or telepathic connections with humans. Also...every MC period has plot armor, what's your point?.
If you seriously watched for the story and not for the action then you watched it incorrectly. It's a very obvious staple among kaiju fans that if the human story fails, the monster action is what you watch it for
