- Hello everyone!
Welcome back ya'll! It's been awhile since I made a video. Unfortunately this video isn't that long. The weather wasn't our side ( at least for the newborn ) but overall we had a great time at salmon creek crab snaring. Before we left the car, I didn't realize how much gear we brought. Which everything twice as harder. Especially on the way back to the car with everything wet. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this short clip and remember it's only the beginning of the season. I'll see you guys on the next one!

@MT_20_23 your welcome, and one is currently being made right now as we speak! 😁
Love the video brother you got good editing skills.. definitely a new fan and subscriber. Great family outting
Right on, man! I appreciate it! It's still a working progress on the editing, but thank you, and thank you for subbing! Cheers! 🎣
Hi-
Great video! Wondering what gear you use for snaring? Rod type, length? Reel type, size? Line type and weight? New to the sport this year. Thanks!
@craigt6007
I would recommend a
Rod : 10ft heavy rod with a good backbone. im currently using the penn fierce 2 but it has a lot play at the tip. The prevail 2 from Penn is a nice rod I seen and heard.
Line : 40lb braid an up of any type. I run power pro or suffix..
Reel : 4500 to 6000 series size of diawa BG that's what I'm using.
If you have any other questions. Don't hesitate to ask
Thank you for watching! 🎣
Great video and great getting the whole family out there! If you don't mind sharing, what is your setup? Rod, reel, snare, and line?
@shanenido
Thank you, man! I appreciate you watching!! I don't mind at all
Rod : 9ft Penn fierce 2 ( don't recommend this rod, I recommend something heavier )
Reel : Diawa BG6000
Snare : crab snare from outdoor proshop. I'm not sure of the specific name.
Line : Power Pro 40- 60 lb braid.
Be sure to subscribe! 🎣
Great video! You're family is awesome! Enjoy the moments
Thank you! unfortunately, the video was cut short because of the bad conditions for a newborn. I definitely will be making longer videos in the future! Thank you again! Cheers! 🍻🎣
Don’t even have to say anything 🔥🔥🔥 good content as always unc
Thank you, nephew! as always.. we will make a longer video in the future!
@@reelrealingyou need to catch some more and send them this way 😅
@@namski3002 lmao, weather with the newborn messed it lol gotta go alone next time!
What time did you go out? My pops and I are going out tomorrow. Any spots you recommend? We got hoop nets.
We went probably noonish during this video. The hoops are usually better around the Westide of the Bodega Head and maybe the jetty at Doran Beach or Lawson Landing in Tomales.
@@reelrealing thanks man.
@@julianmontes4314 tights line! I hope you subscribe!! 🎣🍻
It looked like a near perfect family day at the beach...nice crab! And those fishermen are likely fishing for Redtail perch, or maybe Stripped bass, as one of my favorite surf fishing spots is in front of that sunken barge. Cheers...
It was a gorgeous evening until the mist became too heavy for our newborn. Hopefully, we can make another trip soon. Yeah, I figured either surf perching or striped bass! Anyways, thank you for watching! Tight lines! Cheers! 🎣🍻
I got skunked at Doran beach today! First season of crab snaring I’m typically a bass fisherman lol. I hopped on here looking for a new spot
That's unfortunate, bro. They will come in soon. Yeah, I'm also a bass fisherman, too. Cheers! 🍻 yeah, Salmon Creek is an amazing spot! It could be a hit or a miss.
@@reelrealing I might try bodega bay head tomorrow morning early lol salmon creek with the family after that
@northbaybassanglers1068 be sure to focus, snaring the westside of the hill and the south jetty of Bodega Head only There a some SMCA ( state marine conservation areas ) and MPA ( marine protected areas ) the regulations are confusing sometimes. I just don't want you to get a ticket fishing in the wrong area. Well, good luck out there! 🎣
@@reelrealing yeah for sure. I’m just going to be where I saw people at today. An in the past
Hell yeah! Good luck out their! If you get a chance. Tell me how you do out there! 🍻
Did you only catch one crab?
Yes, only this day I did.. unfortunately due to the weather with a newborn
She is so smart and cute!! Nice catch!! I always go for the less crowded spots!! Rubber bands next time!! 😅
Thank you man! Yeah, it was a awesome but short day out there.. yeah, rubber bands would've been nice lol
How long do you leave the snare out there at salmon creek before checking, like 10 min?
@Greenliight
If you're using anchovies, i would check it 3mins to 5mins. If you're using calamari, I would check 5mins to 10mins. It honestly doesn't take long when you're fishing the surf. Periodically apply pressure on the rod and if it's loads up. There is a good chance you have one on. If you can feel the snare sliding towards you without resistance. There is mostly like nothing on there.
@@reelrealing gotcha that makes sense, I was using squid and herring at bodega harbor the other day and felt like I was checking too frequently, first year crabbing super excited to learn all the tricks. Great channel man!
Dang! Way to blow up the spot my guy! 🤦♂️
Wasn't my intention to do this. I made a video of their last year and was expecting to see a lot more people. From the video, there wasn't hardly anyone there. I'm just making memories for my family.
Get out and have fun. you're not spot burning. you're making memories!
@ohellz510 Thank you, man! That's what it's all about. Thanks again for the positive feedback! 🙏 🎣
Boo woo cry
