What's stuck on my camera every day is actually the TTArtisan 27mm f2.8, quite the opposite from the viltrox haha, but I really do love the focal length!
I have an XT30 ii and just one lens - the Viltrox 23mm f1.4, and I've been extremely satisfied with that lena. However, this looks exciting! I've been thinking of selling the 23 and getting this.
This is exactly the review I wanted to see, thanks man. A friend of mine let me use his FujiFilm XT4 and he let me use a 35mm and to me that lens hunted a bit as well. I think the F1.2 will look awesome. When it comes out for Nikon Z mount I will look into it for sure. (For my Nikon Zfc)
For me, the subtle thing that's made me happy not getting the Viltrox 27mm f1.2 is its stepping motor - which I understand doesn't maintain Continuous autofocus as well as my Fuji 33mm f1.4's linear motor when subjects are moving towards or away from me. I love Continuous for my street photos, so the stepping motor could start to frustrate me a tiny bit. Still looks like an amazing lens, though, and I'm jealous of even just its 1/3 of a stop of better low light capability (although I'd hardly ever shoot at f1.2 anyway, probably).
@@bankruptsee No. At the same exposure (say, f1.2 1/200s iso125) full frame sensors gather 2.25 times more light than crop sensors. As it is spread over the sensor, which is that much bigger, the illumination is the same. But the full frame has that much more light to work with. That's why crop sensors are called crop sensors.
i'm very tempeted with viltrox to replace my fujifilm 33mm 1.4 WR but i'm afraid of autofocus capabilities, i'm between viltrox 27mm and fujifilm 23mm F1.4 wr
I ve been looking so much for a video comparison between sigma 30mm f1.4 and Viltrox 27mm f1.2 pro, from what i understood there might be some issues with viltrox lens AF and sigma can be faster, but another subject i would like to hear about is the lens build. Sigma is portable but no weather sealing and viltrox has weather sealing for dust and water splashes so for the longterm viltrox seems a better investment but its gonna be slow and heavy while traveling.
Viltrox isnt aiming to compete with third parties, but XF lenses. Would have been very relevant to see a comparison with the XF 23 1.4 LM WR (much closer minimum focus distance, and sharper at that MFD wide open also) and the XF 33 1.4 (much shallower depth of field). The viltrox obviously sits between the two and difference in bulk doesn't really need to be mentioned at this point, save to say that on paper the gains are not huge for that 200g extra weight. The big win over the XF lenses is an extra 1/3 stop of light gathering...which depending at what ISOs you usually shoot may not be a big deal. But otherwise something of a compromise (but a good one!) unless its your favourite focal length and you've been waiting for a fast 27. Better in some ways, not as good in others. Still not sure it can replace both the 23 and 33. A lighter, discrete option is always good to have! But a very tempting lens! On the used market both the XF lenses can be bought in near mint condtion for around the same as the Viltrox. Used a little more. But this 27 could save you buying both...unless you also want a lighter option. But price isn't the big win here like with the Viltrox 1.4 lenses. I love the bokeh of the 27 - more so than the XF 23. Much shallower DoF also (in theory). But I use the MFD of the 23 a lot, wide open with very sharp results. The Sigma was also clearly better in yout test? When does it achieve good sharpness at MFD?
What is your go to Fuji lens?

Currently it’s the 35 1.4. I am supposed to get this 27 1.2 Sunday so this could change lol

I adore the 35mm f1.4 R

Thanks for this video, I've been really waiting for a comparison between these two lenses!
I'm a Viltrox fan boy and I can't wait to get my hands on this one. Great little review
Thanks dude! I need to try out there 75mm
Wouldn't it be better to compare the viltrox 27mm to the sigma 30mm since those are closer in focal length?

F1.2 allows the same volume of light on both FF and APS-C.. it makes the difference in getting FF style photos on APSC

Great concise comparison. Side by sides super insightful. Subbed!
Nice comparison! Really like how you put this together and the overall mood and editing of your video 👌

Now the question is 30mm 1.4 sigma or viltrox 27mm 1.2 ?
Yes yes !! I am also very much interested in this question!!!!!
We need to see a video abbout viltrox 27mm 1.2 vs sigma 30mm 1.4
Nice Sir..Beautiful clips too
Thanks Ajay!
you are welcome sir@@Ansonandco
what you think about minimun focusing distance
?
It’s good, the fact I was able to get close to the Bee is a testament to the MFD.
Sigma 23mm a bit overprice IMO
I’ll wait for Viltrox 27mm f1.2 release for Sony e-mount.

Hi, where did you get your transitions for this video?
I believe they are from acidbite.com if I remember correctly
If Viltrox made lenses for the Fuji GFX I would buy the GFX50.
VILTROX THE BEST
I wish Viltrox would make some L Mount compatible lenses.
I think it would have been more appropriate to compare the 27mm Viltrox to the 27mm Fujifilm lens. Nice video though!
Fuji 27mm is 2.8 so it's not a fair comparison. Comparing it to the Fuji 23 1.4 would have been good.
I wish they come out with a 16 mm pro
Good job, son. I love you- mom
Always Sigma
