Honestly they should make another series all about Iowa. Kind of like a Behind the B thing Boston does where they follow the Bruins around accept it would be with Iowa. Could call it “Down on The Farm” because of the farm team thing and the fact Iowa is an agricultural state (although as a student at Nebraska I must say we have better corn)
I absolutely HATED McLeod when he was with Colorado - especially when he injured Spurgeon running him into the back wall along with his great tilts with Chris Stewmanchu. That was so many years ago, but I still remember those things. I guess that means McLeod was definitely doing his job. Seems like a great guy. Couldn’t think of a better a guy to be the Iowa team captain - a 37 yr old guy still fighting and grinding his way in the AHL because he loves the game. He can provide so much advice and wisdom to the young guys on how to be pros. I hope they listen.
Coach Army is a great teacher and the Wild are lucky to have a coach of his passion and with real life honesty to teach these young men how to win into the future.
Minor league hockey has really become something special. The ahl and the echl put on a great show and if you have the opportunity to catch a game I highly recommend it.
Man, it must be heart breaking being sent up to the big leagues then be sent back down. I hope all these young players get their chance and make a difference.
@@jimbeam7248 money isn’t everything. The dream is making the NHL and staying there. Yah it’s nice to make money doing what you love, however, it’s all or nothing for most players. Brother in law turned down a deal with the Calgary Hitmen because he would have likely not played.
they’re already living their pro hockey dream, and they got to the nhl, id say it’s not heartbreaking. not to mention getting called to the show from the ahl is a big step the right direction
I remembered my last hockey game. I was 17. I loved the game, best game I ever played. It was over and I knew it. Played once in over thirty beer league. But the guys were mostly Canadian ex pats and ex college players. Nah.. it was over. These are the lucky ones.
there are slower leagues that you can play in, at least there are in MN. I still play and I'm 50. Used to play at level 4-5 and now I play level 2-3. still love the game. Get out there man.
U guys are amazing. U have the best teammates that cheer u on. Ive been to one game but money has always been a problem. I hope to go to more games in the futer. I love u guys and i hope u keep trying ur hardest.
If the Wild end up facing the Avalanche in the playoffs this year, Cody McLeod should do the "Let's play hockey" call at the start of a game. Peel off an Avs jersey and have a Wild jersey on underneath. Mess with their heads.
The AHL is where players learn that it is a long way to the Top if you want to play in the NHL. Players find out that you have to take the proper Mental approach to playing Pro Hockey. It takes hard work, it takes dedication to becoming the Best Pro Hockey player possible. The Minor Leagues will test you. See if you as a player have what it takes.
Is it just me or does Army seem a little weird. Excellent video though. The Wild organization does a fabulous job on youtube. Extremely impressive because I'm a Senators fan and don't follow the wild but the content here is so good.
Согласованный! Это меньшее, что мы, американцы, могли сделать, учитывая, что Россия дала нам лучшего игрока, который у нас когда-либо был. Хотел бы я, чтобы у меня была сила, чтобы это произошло.
You shouldn`t be talking about calder contention, while you are not even ranked within the playoff spots. The only real contenders are stockton and chicago
We drove to Iowa to see the Wild play and that was one of the best weekends of the winter. Great town. Friendly people. Will visit Des Moines again. 🙂
I`m a NYR fan from Scotland who loves watching 'hockey stuff' and found this an interesting and great watch 👍
Amazing production, cant thank you people enough for the hard work you put it making these Becoming Wild series.

You should do one of these with your ECHL affiliate. It would be cool to see the differences between the three leagues.

Absolutely love the Iowa Wild!! Great franchise top to bottom.

I mean they’re getting paid to play hockey so not that heartbreaking haha

Canucks fan here, this was really well done!!! I hope more teams in the league will make something like this for their farm teams

I remember watching the Des Moines Buccaneers as a kid. Des Moines hockey is all grown up!
Love Beckham’s and Hickett’s dynamic
I used to despise McLeod on the Avs. He seems like a great guy though. Nice video!
Очень хочется кубок любимой Миннесоте ❤️❤️❤️
Dream Wild, Play Wild.❤

I love McCleod, I'm an Ave's fan but I have always cheered for him. Stand up guy.
0:25 Shout out to the Custodians that go from an easy vacuum night to a complete shampoo and wipe down in the locker room.
These Becoming Wild videos are brilliant.
Honestly a really cool documentary.
Man I wish I could Coach, I am so inspired I love the energy
Great job sitting at home watching the finals
Can you do a episode the life in the ECHL?
Let’s go wild! Win the cup!
Love these types video s

Ahl is nasty one of the hardest leagues to get there if not the hardest
Coach sounds like he just chain smoked three packs of natives
why does beckman have a UW hat on?
meeOOOOow!

video coach needs some halls
Will my fav team respond
Go Wolves. 2022 Calder Cup Champions.
3rd!!!
This is why I wish I could play hockey, but I kinda can’t, contact sports are sometimes for me and sometimes aren’t.
Some pretty average goaltending
The coach's voice is so annoying

But we are aspiring to get there sooner rather than later
Doenst help that wild hade extreme injuries so Iowa was short for awhile
@@Hunter-un5pl and their best goalie got traded to Montreal too
