- Swervedriver Live @ Emo's. SXSW 2015.
Iconic Oxford shoegaze group Swervedriver rose to fame in the mid-1990s as a crucial piece of the Creation Records sound. Swervedriver’s new album I Wasn’t Born to Lose You is out today; it’s their fifth studio album and first in 17 years.

About SXSW:
Started in 1987, South by Southwest (SXSW) is a set of film, interactive, and music festivals and conferences that take place early each year in mid-March in Austin, Texas. SXSW’s original goal was to create an event that would act as a tool for creative people and the companies they work with to develop their careers, to bring together people from a wide area to meet and share ideas. That continues to be the goal today whether it is music, film or interactive technologies.

Swervedriver are my favourite band of all time. They are the only band where the songs get better every single time I listen to them. INCREDIBLE songwriting. Thank you Swervedriver.

Saw Failure and Swervedriver a couple of months ago in a tiny room in Nashville, TN. Dream billing.
way groovy!
Wish I went to that show goddamn
Fucking excellent...nothing but joy watching this...one of my all time favorite bands!
Of course I'd find you here!
Last train to satansville was so awesome. I loved all the laser gun sounds and little guitar effects, beautiful controlled chaos. . MEZCAL HEAD I would say is in the top 3 albums of the whole 90's decade so I'm glad they did a couple songs from it.
I'm so glad they're out doing it again..got the new record and it's one of their best!
i fuckin love this band !
ramiro martinez Me too!
+ramiro martinez Love the band, hate the 'shoegazer' title!
yeah ! they are beyond that !
Fuckin great band. Love em since their first album.
Absolutely amazing live!
17:34 these times, for anyone else who thinks it's one of the best pop/rock songs ever written. (album version vocals admittedly better).
Agreed. This song is on another plane.
And Ads still plays all the intricate little riffs while singing as well, such an underrated musician.
I left a negative comment earlier and I was right, the guitars were ok for the most part but were challenged by definition. Sound engineers did ok on this and managed to get the vocals through which is rare. They just deserve better. The camera crew and production team did awesome. Audio wise Dual turned out pretty good and enjoyable to watch and listen.
These guys, Hum and Catherine Wheel are my life.
Hum will blow your speakers out lol
Absolutely love this band! I've seen them three times, and always been a great show.
Here in 2024 and this band will always be a favorite. Best part 0:00 to 46:15!
Lucky enough to be at this one.
Tremendous. Love Swervies to bits.

Mick Quinn of Supergrass as fill-in bassist here as Steve George was unable to perform.. If anybody was wondering why the line-up was different :p
Steve G thanx bro! was searchin comments...
wish more comments were educational opposed to political
Saw them in Cambridge, great gig, vibe and energy was in the stratosphere !! Sorry to hear Steve was ill and couldn't make the tour but Mick was rock fucking solid. Christ it's a magical experience to watch Adam and Jimmy play with one another. Adam is brilliant in his own right, but there's another level when he and Jimmy are really on, and they were that night....despite having tech issues with some of his gear which added a bit of humor to the evening. Also, Gateway Drugs who were supporting were excellent.
and just like that during summer 2020, stageleft silverburst has risen to the collectable ranks of centerstage jazzmaster. those who know, know
Cómo amo esta banda!

These times
Awesome performance, pity the crowd doesn't seem to appreciate it.
Little bit.......lol
is this the same singer as the one from the 90s?
With Love From Russia!!!
25:59 ALL. DAMN. DAY.
I never comment, but can't help mentioning how lame that crowd was. zero energy... seemingly oblivious to their rarefied chance to see a great band live. Nice recording anyway. thanks for posting.
emcee N Yeah, what more could they want? 26:15
I suspect that the sound recording wasn't set up to capture crowd noise. They do sound quiet, but I expect that we aren't catching the whole deal there.
its
ok , lookin at their shoes
they were stunned at this musical bliss, unable to move or otherwise express their emotions ))
It’s a shoegaze show. I expect people to be stoned to lol
List of songs?
25:28 🤘🤘🤘
Last Rites is my jam.
Eu adoro essa banda desde o lançamento do game road rash 1
Mas nem tinha o som deles no road rash 1

Performance is solid, in spite of the technical glitches. But the SXSW audience is mostly dead, what a disappointment. For a performance in front of far more appreciative concertgoers, see the MoshCam recording of their concert in Sydney. That's a show for the ages! Everyone was up on their feet and totally into it, and the band was feeding off the audience's energy.
Last Rites' sound
Have they got Mick from Supergrass on bass now?
MrScottiej23 Yes, this is him !
the bassist from Supergrass (?)
Yes
sometimes (if isnt all the time) i hate to living in the 3th world..
Carlos Elgueda It's all one big rock, Carlos. I live in NY state in the USA, but most times I just want to live in a warm place, far away. Necesito los lugares cálidos donde crecen muchas frutas.
Even zombies display more life than this crowd. C'mon yo, it's Swervedriver. You know, iconic guitar band? WTF. You wanted Ariana Grande or something?
That's down to the band. They don't generate excitement.
@@duncefunce1513 they make me wanna kiss girls an puch a dude. Maybe I'm weird.
I'm too old...
love swervedriver.. hate mcdonalds.. its sacrilege to have that fucking logo in the background.
+mich sles get over yourself
wot a LLAME crowd. the swervies ROCKED. typical Southbye!!!! ouch.
Come to Russia... - No? Understandable )
Is this rock for introverts?
Yes
And everyone else
