  • 🚑 🚨 You're responding to a 25-year-old male with a GSW to the right thigh. Law enforcement advises that the scene is secure and they have applied a tourniquet.
    You arrive to find the male, C/A/O x4, groaning in pain and copious amounts of blood on the ground. The tourniquet is placed in the high-and-tight position with bleeding controlled to the large wound to the right thigh. His skin is pink, cool, clammy, and he has absent pedal pulses in the effected extremity.
    Other than the GSW, the remaining assessment is unremarkable. Your partner obtains the following vital signs:
    •HR 110 Sinus Tachycardia
    •BP 112/74
    •SaO2 97%
    •RR: 22
    •ETCO2: 35
    •NKDA and no past medical history nor any medication prescriptions
    ❓ Is this patient in shock? Yes, or no? And why???
