Really enjoying this. Evidently, I do speak a bit of Italian. I am a foreign language teacher of English. And I cook! Italian heritage, and I am a very fine home cook. Love the culture. Really enjoy working with adult students from around the world. That is my América. My name is Gabriela. Not everyone can pronounce it, but it's a great first day lesson. Learning names. I have picked up some Arabic, some Chinese, some Somali. Just from learning names! I love it. Now, I want to travel.

Good video! My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign language and wants to realize their full potential!

I speak native English. I couldn't explain any of it like they do here and I'm fairly literate, lol.
I think we should teach like you teach a kid in private lessons. When I took private music lessons, I learned what *I* wanted to learn. I wasn't bored.
Then, when I got to music theory as a grown person, I knew most of what they were talking about. Example: I knew what a 2nd inversion chord is from Journey songs. They're in Separate Ways and Don't Stop Believin'.
So, where sometimes I get confused with how they teach, the SECOND you put it on something I care to learn, and now you have my attention and I remember it.
It has to be something I care about and can use. Jmo.
I would take a movie or a book I know well and watch/read it in Italian with guidance of a native speaker. Language rules just bore me to death. I don't care about them. But I can see how it works in the patterns in context.
With kids, you just correct them as you go along. Very simple.

The word order. Subject verb object. In librettos they often use SOV. not SVO. For example-
Ah, quella voce m'e qui nel cor discesa!
Ah that voice is here in my descending heart!
Questa dun cor che muore e lultima pregiera
This is the final prayer from a dying heart.
They SVO is flipped in the itl version.
Perhaps it's different with lyrics & poetry?

I'm not a teacher but I'm pretty sure we don't have any syllab made of a single letter. "a-vran-no".
In italian we had written stress. My italian layout keyboard in fact has the "ù" "ò" "à" "è" and "ì" buttons.
French people kept the stresses, while we decided to cut them by the written forms: we only use them on a little amount of words ("perchè"... with stress, but "parcheggio").
"mela ho mangiato io" is not correct.
Some people from southern countries tend to say something like "una mela ho mangiato", but we cut away the subject. The true intention is, usually, to make notice first things first. It could be what Adam and Eve told to God, if you believe in that story. I mean, it would intend "oh my God (...really!)... I (just) ate an apple!".
Don't think it's always a provocative way to behave, we don't mean we're a menace. After all, if we admit we ate an apple leaving to the listener to intend it was just an apple, we wouldn't care too much if someone took one apple from us.
About the capital letters, "italiano" and "inglese" do not start with a capital letter because they're not "Italy" or "England" (nouns), but adjectives.
"Mi scusi" means "pardon". That's how you could know just a short form of "I beg your pardon". In our language it means "may he/she pardon me". It's an "imperative" form, in this case the , even if it's strange is not told in a gentle way: centuries ago we talked more like "if your gentleness would, I beg you to pardon me, but I am/was in a hurry.". And the same kind of speech was used in Italy too.
You too have taken away the whole phrase but just let the "pardon" part, since it's usually used to tell you don't or didn't have much time.. and well, it would sound a little strange not cutting away the extra parts then making people lose more time if we didn't notice they had to pass right through a door where we were standing, without letting the way the listener needed.
We also say it as "perdono" (perdòno, while still the same word (as it written, ofc) "perdono", if you read it like "pèrdono" means "they lose").
Thinking about time... I'd keep going telling what I would notice but I'll have to go now.
That's an interesting video anyway, I'll try going on later! Good job!

When you start saying "pronoun", and "conjugating verbs", etc, you lose or confuse a lot of listeners. I did 5 years of university (Engineer) but i didn't study English per se. Most people won't understand what you're saying (myself included). You could do a whole video on that, as a supplement.
