The cage around the lights are offered on the GC1715 and the GC1720. Yes, the 22.5 HP models have the same engine as the 25HP models. It is where you run the RPM. On the two 25HP models there are a few other extras such as the cage around the lights, an upgraded seat, and you have a rear working light.
Awesome little tractor, I would buy one if a few things were changed such as; the seat to steering wheel position is terrible, the seat seems too high, and the steering wheel is down between your knees (even on the improved 2018 models), the seat is really floppy side to side especially to the right (feels like it is broke and you are going to fall off), the throttle hits your knee when at idle, loader stick needs to be moved to the fender so you don't have to lean forward to operate the loader. The tractor is extremely well built and designed for easy maintenance, all metal body panels, great quality paint that doesn't seem to fade like most of the others. The engineers put a lot of thought into the tractor, but obviously forgot to sit on it and operate it. If you made the seat solid, steering wheel tilt and telescope, loader stick on the fender and the throttle up higher then you would sell way more and definitely compete with Deere and Kubota. Just my thoughts, and I hope the right the right person is reading this. Thank you!
But as I said in my previous comment, my local Dealer has the 1710, which is the 1720 only with a RPM change, and they do not have the cage. My local dealer said Massey Dropped the Cages altogether. So I was surprised to see them at all in this vid. So? Whats the deal, can you get the cages on the 1710/1720 or not? It's a small detail, but One I miss on the new tractors.
What is the deal with the lights on the ROPS. In different video shots in this post, some have steel cages around the lights, and some don't. The 1710 at our local dealer does not have a Steel cage. I was disappointed that hey dropped that from the factory. But I saw it several times in this video. So whats the deal?
*drooling* all the things i could dream of having!
