Thank you. Good information. I have the same opinion of this rifle. Thought your iwi galil review was just excellent. Lot of information. Looking forward to your next one.
Thank you! It means a lot! I have something cool that might take a bit because I like getting some trigger time before I give my opinion on something but I hope you continue to enjoy these!
Lucked out & bought one of these when they first came out. I paid $850. Glad I didnt do my usual procrastinating routine because these are really pricey now if you can find one. Its my favorite AK. Hope you enjoy yours. Adios amigo
I bought mine in 2020 for around 1100.00 plus..glad I did then..price has skyrocketed..inexpensive red dot works great..iron sights excellent..Also have a M 70 and a really nice Pioneer Arms AK with a binary trigger than just sits in the safe..it was espensive too..but it appears to be very well made as well..
@@zacharybatten yea on mine it seems to be only the barrel. The hotter I get it the more it looks like it has a bronze/gold powder coat of some kind. But I see it as a quirk. Adds character I guess lol
I got mine in 2017 for $995. The price jump is because of import restrictions on Russia not to mention inflation is starting to run rampant. Arsenal is one of the few imports still available and the list is getting smaller unfortunately because of political issues. The Magpul magazine being tight in your gun is a good thing in my opinion. The little extra nudge to get it to seat is good for no movement in the magazine at all and one should be smacking the bottom of a magazine after inserting it anyway just out of habit to make sure the magazine is seating no matter what firearm you're shooting that's magazine fed
I think the reason they went with the 14x1 is because there is a lot more aftermarket muzzle devices in that thread pitch and is more common in general. Would have been nice to include something over the muzzle nut tho
Do you know what types of modifications they offer? I’d assume they’d do things like side folders, 24mm threads, and such but you’d probably have to supply your own parts.
Definitely, mag fitment is always interesting on AKs though due to the dimensions of how it was cut. It’s definitely a per rifle thing because I’ve had people tell me their WASR likes polymer mags whereas mine does not
Hearing all these prices makes me not want to buy an Slr 107. Gun trader people asking 1800 range. At that point the milled may be the way to go. Ak prices are awful right now. Don’t think it’s gonna get better ha
I would definitely not pay that price for a 107R, I know the FR variant with the side folding stock and 24mm threads go for around that price but even that I think is a bit steep. There are very good AKs right now from the Jack, Beryl, ZPAP, and so on that are stamped rifles in 7.62x39 that I think you would get a much better deal at that price point or going with the milled receiver.
@@zacharybatten yea I originally wanted the KUSA kr-103 side folder but it’s never in stock. Just have to be patient. The slr 107 I was looking at is unfired and has a mount with a $200 optic with an extra mag(Bakelite) for 1900. Seems steep to me but maybe not with the extras. Others on there are 1800 for no add on’s. I appreciate the guidance, newer to the ak world definitely got in the game at the wrong time ha.
@@zacharybatten it’s a Vortex venom optic, one normal mag and a bakelite one. It has a Belarus BP02 mount, which I don’t think are expensive. Unfired like I said. I think the price is him getting all his money back but who knows what he got the gun at. 1k or 1,500.
@@danripp8917 That is not a too terrible price then I would say maybe, if you factor in the price for the rifle and the stuff you're getting it might be fair. But you have to ask is that the optic and mount you want?
Lol it’s interesting to see these really starting to stick at the $1300 or so price range because of it. I’m actually getting this one turned into a FR right now
I haven’t watched my video in awhile but what where did I say Russian AKs are milled not stamped? Also can’t remember what I said about budget, but I do remember these stamped Bulgarian rifles were like $800 when they came out
What is the loop looking part between the disconnector and the reciever? It sits right under the hammer when the hammer is laid back? What is that part for?
My SLR was $999.oo but now their going for $1800.oo. My Sam7sf was $1900.oo and their new price is $2200.oo. Everything is costing to much $$$ now days...👊🇺🇸🇺🇸💪
Also is the lightest combloc manufactured AK “variant” if you will-due to slimmer profile 74-style barrel.
Didn’t really think of it like that! That’s honestly a pretty good point for it!

I like the stamped versions over milled, just my opinion. But they are harder to find. Just purchased one today.
I think weight savings is definitely a big advantage. I’m currently getting this one turned into a 107FR
@@zacharybatten hey let me know how it turns out, I bought this rifle havnt even got it yet. But was planning the same thing.
You need to purchase the Sam7sf dust cover for your SLR. It's thicker it will not move at all...👊🇺🇸🇺🇸💪

My SAM 5 turns an interesting bronze color after shooting it. Kinda weird, wipe it with a rag and it’s gone. Shoot it and it reappears lol
It probably is the paint they use, is it mostly on the barrel?

Great video, thank you.
Maybe send off the 107 to Rifle Dynamics or Jim Full Phoenix for their modification and do another review/comparison.

You actually want a little play in the magazine for reliability, if it was too ridgid you run into problems cycling.

Was this the 11-e variant that recently came out?
no, those have an "enhanced" trigger that is some FIME trigger
Coulda read this off of the manual and a basic google search. Was expecting more
What are some specific things you’d have liked me to include?
Look on your trunnion. Mine has a circle 10. So it is definitely not outsourced
That’s the thing, despite having the circle 10 there’s a lot of speculation that these were subcontracted. Similar to how Colt makes their ARs

Now Arsenal's focus is only on sam7 and about 10 variations of furniture and color 😆
