Back in 2003-2005 before he switched to ableton, he would re-edit a lot of songs for his live sets by superimposing his own kick drums over the originals, adding subtle pluck motifs, and/or remastering the track to punch better on the mono club systems. "I don't think it's very good for PVD" This isn't anywhere near the sound quality of the one he played out. Sounds like an internet radio stream recording, and back in 2003 they used to stream at extremely low bitrates in mono. Alas, he never released very many of his edits other than Holding Onto Nothing and one or two others.
