Amazing how these grains just tug at our emotional inner warmth. Gerry nailed it; "Optional Anxiety"... Now that may be a name for a whole new series of guitars!!! You heard it hear first!
ALISTAIR , you always say, 'heart wood' for the light colored part. But the light parts are actually the sap wood. The light parts are closest to the bark, not the center.
Love these guys and the veneers unveiling! Can't wait to purchase...think of a 20 grand McPherson and compare the build and price! Add to that your custom veneers and your laughing! There's no comparisons really!
Always been a sucker for finely figured wood on a guitar. But all the beautiful natural figuring is lost to view most of the time, whether being played or just hanging on a wall. These absolutely stunning veneers are up front and centre in all their natural glory for everyone to see. The guitars seem to have deep rich tones too...such as l can hear on YT. Hard to tell sometimes. I live on an old wooden yacht so carbon Fibre is a must, given the hostile environment for a trad built guitar. Just about talked myself into an X30 !

We will keep that in mind Chas, thanks.
I really enjoyed seeing all those amazing veneers Alistair, and I love your enthusiasm and creativity.
I love the way you describe the visualization of a pattern of wood.
