St George, UT to Grand Canyon in UTV's | RZR Turbo S, Kawasaki Teryx SXS

- We take the families out for an impromptu ride to Whitmore Point/Whitmore Trailhead at the Grand Canyon. We got a little dusty (a lot dusty), have a little trouble, and one lucky guy gets towed back the last 20 miles! All in all, a great trip!
Directions:
We started at the south end of River Road in St George. On google maps, search “Whitmore Trailhead” and it should route you. Make sure and download the offline map. Cell service goes away pretty quick!
Things to know..
You will need extra fuel. The RZR’s had used 5 gallons by the time we got there, Teryx used 6. Make sure you are being smart hauling fuel! Leak proof containers in a safe place!
Technically for this route, you will need UT offroad registration sticker AND AZ offroad sticker. Street legal was NOT a requirement to get to Whitmore. It would be necessary to get to Toroweap.
Take a belt, tire repair, tow strap, and basic tools for simple repairs. Take water and food. Blankets and jackets.
Invite someone to go with you. Don’t want to get stranded alone with no service!

Wait a second here, I saw a post about towing a Teryx faster then it goes, but the RZR loses a belt as well? 😂 only difference you can get to a RZR belt easier. 👍👍 looks like a great trip! Sorry just have to rub it in some. -Garrett
😂 ya, well, we changed the rzr belt In 5 minutes and opted to tow the Teryx at 50 mph instead of the hour+ long belt change ordeal. -Royce, who obviously drives a rzr 😝

Sweet, gonna make this run after we get some rain to knock that dust down. Have you guys been out to where the Bar 10 Ranch is? Planning to do that one soon too.
We drove right past the ranch. The gate you see in the video is at Bar 10
Do it again, but this time head east when you get to the famous schoolhouse and head to "Toroweap outlook"! you will get a beautiful drive though the woodsy Mt. Trumbull canyon!
We definitely want to do that trip. We need to go soon, before it’s hot!

If you find River Road in St George, it turns to dirt at the very south end, once you cross highway 7/Southern Parkway. That’s where you start

So this is a fine route to go in the winter? No snow then? Trying to plan a Toroweap run.
@@opticsmanhicks there shouldn’t be much snow, but I wouldn’t plan to go shortly after a storm

What size are the Vulcan straps?
Do you have a map file you could share of the route?
Sorry.. we thought we were recording the route, but when we checked it hadn’t recorded. If you go to google maps and search “Whitmore trailhead” it will take you right to it
@@OffCamberInd just head south on that dirt road after you leave river road, you will drive right to it. although I recommend "Toroweap Outlook" myself.
Are any permits required to ride SxS around the Grand Canyon?
You need an AZ OHV tag/sticker as well as a Utah OHV tag/sticker/normal off-road registration.
