I admire you Sen. Serge for bringing out these facts. May the Filipino voters be enlightened and demystify the image of martial law that BBM is trying to project. As a practicing engineer during martial law I still can recall how difficult it was to find a job even for a licensed mechanical engineer like me. And even if you get a job the salary was not even enough to live a decent life.

Before Marcos the USD and PH exchange was $1 = 4 PHP, by the time during the 1986 EDSA revolution the exchange rate was $1 = 19 PHP. How can they say the Philippine economy was great during 20 years of the Marcos regime ? In fact many of the current oligarchs and monopolies impeding the Philippine economy prospered during the Marcos regime.
