I find a western style dragon might be a little tricky to articulate since they are a little more bulky looking, but I'm open to the idea for future projects. Normally, I would create a 3d model and cut the pattern from the model. For this pattern, I just took an cone pattern and adjusted the shape to fit each segment of the body.
