A shelled variant of the Bog Hunter would be nice. Not only will they be fierce predators, but also their shells can be used to protect themselves from the Shroomids' physical and magical attacks.
I’m a huge fan of the grand mobembe, as predicted. The way it’s described makes it sound like an ecosystem engineer, which are organisms that single-handedly shape and maintain their habitat, like beavers with their dams. The way the design incorporates multiple kinds of mushroom is also very cool. Even with just these three creatures, the fungal marsh area already feels like it has a really unique identity. It’s overall very goblincore, with all the mushrooms and slugs and whatnot. Hopefully we’ll see more of this area in the future.
The bog hunter is definitely my favourite I love how odd he looks and yet there is something adorable about it. I especially love the fake slug eye like protrusions on the headand they look like they could be cool sensory organs. Also maybe there could be rogue mushroom people who domesticate bog hunters as rides or pets.
So ideas for the lil shrooms Main= Hypos (kind, often offers guests gifts on arrival) Big guy= Praxai (wise, often gives advice on life) Lil guy= Todda (curious, often admires “strange travelers” and immediately praises whoever gives gifts to them)
Woah! The Grand Mobembe looks so Epic, Majestic, and Powerful, I LOVE it! A Fantastic Sauropod, and an Absolute Favorite! The Mystical Shroomid's look very Mysterious, Interesting, and Awesome! And the Bog Hunter looks Vicious and Badass, but still can be a Good Boi! XD
The scientific name for the Bog Hunter is funny to me because I know you combined gastropod and canis to make it but with it just being gastrocanis it translates to stomach dog since gastropod means stomach foot. That just makes a funny image in my head of the bog hunter.
NOOOOO someone conceptualized the idea i had before me....aw well into the mental folder you go. It was a sauropod too 😅. But luckily the design aint too similar to what i had planned. [Its better lol] so im taking inspiration from this :3. Thanks.
. Sauropods are up there with Tortoises, have something cool on their backs and i will be SOLD, i love this, i love how the shroom on the head forms an almost wanderer looking hat . cool seeing this world of yours also has some Shroom-Boys in it, love them too, the way their bodies LOOK like cloths is just cool, as for names, i would say strange sounds like "Pffpff" for the little guy, "Pfooom" for the bulky one and "Pfsss" for the 1 with the stick . the way the predators here are slugs, things that eat decaying leaves, is really cool, really fitting
So cool, I love seeing what you come up with. Would totally buy a downloadable volume of creatures for $5. Best of luck figuring out the logistics of releasing your content! You’ve got the stuff! Start researching the process a little bit every day, even just half an hour, that way it doesn’t like hugely feel like a big task, more like an ongoing legal research project that you can nibble away at. You’re making some really awesome stuff here, keep it up. 😊
These are AMAZING as always! In regards to your bog hunter, you did your job right bc as soon as I saw it I was like 'brother EW' (but in a good way) Also I don't draw bc my hands are messed up, but I do write a fair bit and run dnd campaigns a lot and as a dm I would LOVE to run a game in this world, the creatures are all so unique and just *chefs kiss*
I love a good Mushroom-folk, and the slug-wolf was definitely an interesting animal, but the Grand Mobembe has to be my fave! It's huge, it's dino AND fungal themed, but most important of all: it has worldbuilding built into it's function! So much story potential! Can you domesticate them? Are there predators that eat them? What DOES actually happen if they become endangered? So many cool story ideas just from 1 mushroom sauropod!
Make a absolute titanic crab and slap it in his oceans as an island with tribes that live on its back that worship it make them hard to come by because they’re population is low because they grow extremely slow it also defends the people on its back buy crushing sea raiders and pirates( it filter feeds because it’s massive size and slow mobility but it can still eat like a traditional crab if given an opportunity)
Wow! As a sauropod lover you just made my day! I just saw your creations in your Instagram account and I must say it's brilliant! I would probably buy that book that you have since I am drawn with such creatures like this that just existed in my wildest imaginations. Oh and yes! By the way I agree with a comment over here that "Make a creature so huge that they become the terrain". Or maybe something like Zunesha (If you're a fan of anime specifically One Piece--- He's a huge elephant that roams the world. So huge that his back has it's own terrain and civilization. He's about 35,000 km tall and a really really huge elephant). I'd be really happy if you make a creation like that but like a Sauropod-inspired or Dragon-inspired creature. Maybe something as big as a continent or the whole world/universe/multiverse/never-ending itself. Just like Dr. Who's Leviathan that is about centillion light years huge. Lol Also I would love to see a saurpod Kaiju that can pass as a monster in the Monsterverse in your creations! Keep it up. Rooting for you 🤗
I think you should name the different Shroomids Amphallo (the skinny one) after the death cap mushroom (Amanita phalloides), the deadliest mushroom, Puff Ball (the big one) after the giant puff ball mushroom , one of the largest species of mushrooms and the organism that produces the highest number of offspring at over a billion spores, and Psiloc (the one with the staff) after the magic mushroom, Psilocybe cubensis
The bog hunter. Really hope that he takes inspiration from English and Scottish landscapes and architecture just because you have Roman and Celtic and traditional English and Scottish especially for this region with the continent
WE’VE BEEN ROBBED OF THE SLUG DRAGON!!!! 9:53 (If you wanna continue the weird feelings of the fungal marsh might I suggest using some flatworms like hammerheads or cephalopods..?)
@@JoshWhiteMonsterMania yeah and so many other ideas Ant dragon Beetle dragon Scorpion dragon Spider dragon Mosquito dragon Dragonfly dragon Lobster or crab dragon Antlion Dragon
I'm simply in love with this series! It's been years since I drew and now it's as if all of me wants to try mixing different animals and flora - maybe even write again. Do you think that in this world there would be quadrupedal sharks like wolves? 😆💜 Hugs from Brazil!
Grand Mobembe: Mini Jörmungandr is cool. Shroomids: Larry's pretty fun guy to hang with and Georgy is a nervous sweetheart but watch out for Kieth, he got tired of all the short jokes and killed Max. Bog Hunter: Must...resist...urge...to boop snoot! (Cause it'll eat your hand?) BECAUSE I WON'T STOP BOOPIN DE SNOOT!!!
It would be interesting to see a different species of Bog Hunter that hunts other Bog Hunters, mirroring how there a some species of real life snails that hunt and eat other snails, like the Rosy Wolfsnail aka Cannibal Snail (Euglandina rosea). Maybe some Shroomid settlements could end up domesticating them to discourage other Bog Hunter species from preying on them.
I believe you are using the word Sentient in place of Sapient. Almost all animals are Sentient while Sapient is a step above self aware. Just a potentially fun addition but Sophont is often considered the noun for a Sapient being.
Hi !! Are you going to stream your fantasy world creation with us helping you, like Monstergarden ? The Bog Hunter is my favourite, the vein and the slimy texture, pretty damn good design, but i think it didn't need the mammalian eyes, the result would be even more natural and iconic in my opinion.
would love to see some creatures from the Golden Desert. I'm a big fan of desert creatures, and I'm actually designing a desert/red canyons region for a new worldbuilding project right now. edit: after watching the video, oh my god. the bog hunter is SO COOL. that is my kind of alien right there.
I was thinking that the Shroomids could all have names that could be an angiogram of different types of religions or spiritual concepts, but because I'm bad at naming things I couldn't think of any
Hope you like mushrooms 🍄
when it comes to edible mushrooms, I only eat them on pizza... lol
MUSHROOM SOUP🍜
Their literally a passion of mine since I was in middlschool. No joke. I'm very very happy you made this beautiful creature
😮😊
can we get a Discord server? like maybe for fanart around this world, i love think idea so much :D
Mushroom with the staff- Mycelius
Small mushroom- Toad
Big mushroom- Fungor
Imagine having that as a home, base, and mount
Edit: I would love to have that Bestiary Book. AND I would love to have a Bog Hunter as a pet.
Ark
… turn mount into soup
I don't play ARK, but I know the game and I know you can have a Brachy for a mount and base.
I would love the first one as a mount
There's a town management game set on the back Of a sauropod looking creature made Of living rock walking around a planet.
Name ideas for the shroom guys
1: intorx
2: midis
3: capper
Capper is specifically for the big guy with claws

I like the things along its neck, they remind me of the Dreadnoughtus from Prehistoric Planet.
Here's a good concept a mammal that can fly not gliding but flying and look like a dog or rabbit.❤

the buff one I would call it a Glorlock
I just make something like this with my creature design and Ngl it's really fun to design a gigantic creature and add special features on their body
If It's possible to request, could you eventually add a direwolf species (if you didn't already have that planned)
Not sure if I’ll do a legit direwolf but I definitely got plans to design several different wolf like creatures
I just want to say keep up the good work I love the creature designs you make. Sometimes I use them in DND and my dad loves them.
