    Awesome content man thank you. I’ve been doing appliance repair for 3 years now and one thing I learned early on is you can never have enough info on all aspects of the field.

    Damn the game is sold not told!! lol but luckily not everybody can do this(especially warranty work) been in it for 13 years, 3 of them running my own like you I do 50/50. Great video accurate very accurate lol , when Im at the parts store I got older guys who work for companies ask me how I started on my own leaving from another company but most of those guys cant or just don't like the paper work when it come to warranty work or waiting for their money. I have a 5 star rating on google But like i said everybody can't do this especially with out a plan but thanks for the vids keep'em coming. I got something I can watch that I can relate to now lol

      tha12one3 yeah im trying to Avoid Warranty work all together. As i learn the business i see alot of the money being earned by companies is being spent on overhead like Homeadvisor, Angieslist. Etc. I want to cut the middle man out completely even if that mean i gotta go out in the trenches to get it and advertise the business

    Usually when I get calls asking for upfront prices, the customer 85% say they’ll call back and of course never do.

    • @commercial_service
      @commercial_service 5 лет назад

      Half the time it’s the customer trying to figure out what they need to fix their unit. Other times you have competitors calling to find out what you are charging to under cut your prices.
      The killer part is when you get the call from that same customer months later and find that they were tricked by a low estimate only to get a higher charge and the issue still isn’t fixed.

    Why does it appear or seems that repair technicians are selfish with their craft or trade and don't like to pass on the knowledge or skills to newbies and then wonder why there's a shortage of trained tech professionals even when their own family members don't want to learn the business trade but someone else not of their kin does?

  • @desertdispatch

    Just my two cents and advice. I have to back what he says all the way. In my field as well as others we call it " self diagnosis" While its true the customer maybe right they also maybe completely off base. I just want to refine what he's saying by making a couple points. Decide on your script and stick with it. -Before you except "my compressor is not working" One thing you can say upfront and always " what's the problem tell me exactly what happened? Usually with that you can elicit better information.-Its highly important YOU run the phone call NOT the customer. -with the exception of a charge of a service call ..Do not put yourself in any form of verbal contract over the phone.
