This band once played at Natasha's in Lexington, KY where I used to work. Super nice peeps. We got a copy of this album and we wore that thing out! Great concept, great execution, great songs!
Go see them live if you have the chance! I saw them in Atlanta and for the encore they brought all their instruments into the audience and played in the middle of the audience. I held the xylophone ;)
I never thought about this song being about the perspectives on both sides of a relationship before. It really adds to the song if you think about it like that.
His inability to accept her also represents his inability to accept himself without perfection. That is why the weapons are pointed equally. All of this violence takes place within his mind- this is what is happening with the burial and the boned dionsaurs- representative of death and past pain. He realizes that he must let it all go, let go of the anger and self-contempt. This is symbolized by the releasing of the candle-lit mache laterns. He is letting the burdens lift away.
I read somewhere that the whole album is about the super messy divorce between the singers parents. It really comes across in the lyrics and the general theme through out the whole album. It is interesting to see how they incorporated it into a music video.
Man on the roof = child listening on his two parents fight This whole album was about his parents divorce, not about murderers and heartless baby killers
Michael Brown Well, there was a reference to them having lost children and the surviving son, still a child himself, innocently asks, "Where's the baby?" and imagines he sees the baby out in the garden which the mother just dismisses.
Well my understanding..is if he was as a child listening to parents arguing I remember what the Bible says A man can die many times before his death..correct me please on either account
All Alone in an Empty House Lost In The Trees I spent my whole life on you And i built you a gorgeous house To put up with your bitched mouth And ive thrown all my dreams right out And im so selfless here I'm so selfless here Theres a cloud in my head I'm so selfless here And what do you want from me I've burried my own babies And i live all alone in an empty house I've thrown all my dreams right out And im so lonely here I'm so lonely here Theres a cloud in my head I'm so lonely here So i tend the garden Tend the garden Tend the garden Tend the garden Tend the garden Tend the garden Tend the garden Build the stone wall What are you hiding What are you hiding What are you hiding Is something dirty Something dirty What are you hiding What are you hiding Something dirty Where is the baby Where is the baby Where is the baby Love baby You touched the baby You must be crazy I must be crazy I touched the baby Hide in the tower Hide in the tower Hide in the tower Hide in the tower Rot in the tower Rot in the tower Rot in the tower For all i care cause i hate your soul And how i hate your soul Will the church protect me How i hate your soul Are we leaving Are we ever leaving We've got black spots in our eyes Are we ever leaving No where Never meant to hurt anyone Never meant to hurt anyone No plunge holes into the wall But never hurt anyone No,no one is perfect And, no one is perfect We've got holes in our heart No one is perfect
nah, its not creepy. It has meaning. There's more substance. It's deep. You have to understand the meaning to fully appreciate why its "creepy" You'll understand when you mature.
"Hide in the tower ... right in the tower, for all I care, 'cause I hate your soul. And how I hate your soul." Goosebumps every single time.

All Alone in an Empty House
Lost In The Trees
I spent my whole life on you
And i built you a gorgeous house
To put up with your bitched mouth
And ive thrown all my dreams right out
And im so selfless here
I'm so selfless here
Theres a cloud in my head
I'm so selfless here
And what do you want from me
I've burried my own babies
And i live all alone in an empty house
I've thrown all my dreams right out
And im so lonely here
I'm so lonely here
Theres a cloud in my head
I'm so lonely here
So i tend the garden
Tend the garden
Tend the garden
Tend the garden
Tend the garden
Tend the garden
Tend the garden
Build the stone wall
What are you hiding
What are you hiding
What are you hiding
Is something dirty
Something dirty
What are you hiding
What are you hiding
Something dirty
Where is the baby
Where is the baby
Where is the baby
Love baby
You touched the baby
You must be crazy
I must be crazy
I touched the baby
Hide in the tower
Hide in the tower
Hide in the tower
Hide in the tower
Rot in the tower
Rot in the tower
Rot in the tower
For all i care cause i hate your soul
And how i hate your soul
Will the church protect me
How i hate your soul
Are we leaving
Are we ever leaving
We've got black spots in our eyes
Are we ever leaving
No where
Never meant to hurt anyone
Never meant to hurt anyone
No plunge holes into the wall
But never hurt anyone
No,no one is perfect
And, no one is perfect
We've got holes in our heart
No one is perfect
I wish they could come to hong kong:(
