Considering no as an answer; exactly. There is a moral code to abide to in democratic societies and in lieu of a moral code, regulations the way.
To yes as an answer; I understand the absolute vision of free. But I’d ask you to consider regulations on a softer tone, ie not to the extreme of a totalitarian institution as much as a nudge towards enlightened debate for a more constructive society. Regulating doesn’t have to equate lack of liberty as much as empowering every ideas to flourish instead of being afraid of expressing yourself.
I’ll do say that if a being is into oppressing others, the public space shouldn’t let them do it as the casualties are too great and I would hope that they wouldn’t want others to oppress them either. Food for thought, give regulations a chance, for a nuanced and healthy free speech’s case
