Wow, two basins of powerful transistors, luxury, good life, Mr.Electricity!!! In Russia, these transistors are very expensive and when repairing amplifiers, I buy only the right amount to replace the burned ones. One can only dream of such basins with transistors!!! And he was lucky, usually in addition to the burned-out output transistors in the amplifier, there are often a lot of defects, since the burned-out transistors cause many more different defects, resistors, and other little things burn out.
I love the way the high end audiophiles ends go on about "dual mono design", "big toroidal transformer", "big power caps", XLR inputs. When a basic pro amp has all that for 1/10th the price! Pre/power combo as well!
I saw your hand and finger you must be live on hardely work. You are so very hardly lived before. I like make the amplifier. But you are good enginear more than me. Thank you your video.
It's will be back to the junk yard soon! The protection LED'S are still on, even without seeing the LED'S, the fact remains that he didn't check the other components, output transistors and main filter capacitors don't just die! There's more failed components or out of tolerance from the heat that this amplifier would have been producing.. It needs more work on it than to just wash and replace only the obvious components.. If it was that simple, everyone would be an electronics engineer..
I'm always impressed with Mr E's work.Wish he lived closer.I'd pay him good money to sort out an old deck and amp that I've had knocking about for years.
Are you serious? What you just saw was a good clean and replace of a few components. The protection less are on for a reason! And the reason is that the amplifier still has problems! Capacitors don't just explode for no reason! And when you have failed output transistors, you can bet that there's other components that have also failed but are not visible! When you go to all that troubled to take it all apart down to the last screw and you don't check every component, you are just wasting your time... It's going to fail again shortly, the protection LED's are essentially still on!
not enought termal compound , those transistors will blow pretty quick ... use termal paste on both sides of the mica and enought to cover the hole back of the transistor
The amp will be buzzing because of the lack of filtering. Replacing 6800uF by 1000uF is not helping. Otherwise, good video, as always. EDIT: 10000uF was used instead of 6800uF => Which is much better!
He replaced with 10000ufd / 100volts. While cleaning the power supply board with Acetone you can see the specification printed on it; exactly on the capacitor seating area.
I watched the video I have a question. What did you use the circuit board cleaning liquid for? Please answer me I look forward to seeing good videos next time
@@MrElectricity1111 Hello friend, with which liquid did you clean the card where you placed the 4 capacitors and why did you change the capacitors you had from 6800uf to 80 volts now for those from 10000uf to 100 volts? explain that change to me and if I didn't have a problem with that because I have a sony receiver and it brings the same 6800uf capacitors but 71 volts
First off, he test the capacitors with a ohm meter. This method does not tell you the Vloss , ESR, or capacitance. I almost always replace the caps just because cheap amplifiers always use cheap caps that don't last long.
I thought the sound was coming out of the amplifier, but in the end it disconnects from the amplifier and the sound continues to play. I'm feeling cheated.
I have a feeling some of those power transistors he reused were bad, which is why it was going into protection mode. At least one of the transistors he reused was giving weird readings on the multimeter, that while not explicitly "bad", it probably had leakage between some or all of the GDS pins. All of them should have been replaced if the amplifier was insulted badly enough to nuke a few of them.
...Mr. Electricity is a master, he has a clear knowledge of his work, and how each piece of equipment and component works...
Sir need some help in amplifier system s

Blame the government for that. The currency exchange rate is bad and the import duties are so high that it makes everything expensive.

Outstanding work ! Looks like you are an expert at restoring this audio power amplifier. Thanks for sharing this for others to learn from on RUclips .

Great work!! You need a better desoldering iron with a built in pump.
I noticed he didn't wick or suck any away either. Unless that was not caught on video.
Your videos are actualy helpful and informativ.

Why is the restorated Amplifier in Protect mode? The Protect lights are clearly lit up at the end of the video.
True just read your comment and skipped the entire video to the end
Yes that is the problem with this man trying to tell people that he repaired it when it is not so Where is you can clearly see that it is in protect

Is that just regular thermal paste between the FETs and the heatsink?
