This is such a hauntingly beautiful cover. Bravo to Craig Mazin for asking his talented daughter to do this. Perfect ending to the episode.
Nepotism is kind of ok in cases like this where the artist is so talented that it would be everybody's loss not to know them.
She recorded it in her bedroom... it was intended for just a demo before going to studio, but they just kept her bedroom recording.
Oh shit no wonder they had the same name, nepotism is good when the kid is talented!
Just because nepotism gives a good result, doesn't mean it's a good thing to do. Perhaps it would be WAY better if they drafted 1000 artists making covers instead.
It being sung by her daughter enhances the message of the song. Craig and Jessie. Joel and Ellie.
My dad is close to retirement and has a long drive home everyday from work and every day he gets anxious about the uncertain future. He tells my mom he has tears in his eyes for all those missed opportunities. I added this song to his playlist and now he listens to it everyday. Thank you Dad for all you’ve done!

Probably one of the rare cases in movies where close relatives do not spoil but enhance the overall result of cooperation. Bravo to The Last of Us Creator's daughter - Jessie! That's absolutely beautiful! P.S. and of course thanks to Edgar Roock who did great work on this extended version!

It is to rework it into having a different feeling and convey a different meaning than the original song. It's a totally different style and tone and gives a completely new feeling to it, it isn't supposed to be a "better" version, it changes the message of it.

Absolutely a pure and eloquent rendition!!! I lost my husband recently knowing I can never “take a ride with my best friend”…it’s a haunting realization of my solo journey!!!

An amazing version of the original. Not better. Just different. Such a heartfelt adaptation for this amazing show. In the 80s, sometimes mistook Depeche Mode for ABC. Quite different but also very good.
