I like how he says that this 3rd of the night is like a portal to create our connection to our Creator, and Allah has granted us this opportunity, which we need to catch that moment for our self-growth. Jazakullah khair, Dr Rothman.

My college aged son told me this was a beneficial series. So I decided to try it. I enjoyed the first episode mashallah. I am hoping more of Ustadh Rothman's Islamic Psychology will help clarify some of the gray areas from Western psychology too InshaAllah.

    As-salamu alaykum brother💚 from🇺🇸
I appreciated and benefited when you highlighted the wisdom of Ramadan, by explaining essentially what Ramadan is(a retreat) and how we can follow the Sunnah. Specifically, you framing the last part of the night and how our Beloved Prophet worshipped during it. May ALLAH reward you and I'll be tuning in, Insha'ALLAH.

It's very relevant when you explain that we are living the world which our mind understands but what our heart feels is obliterated most of times by a mad rush in which I mind is throw into.

Thank you for the introduction. I look forward to these sessions and I pray that Allah grants us all the opportunity to make the best of these moments. I was particularly appreciative of the 1/12 analogy and that Ramadan in it's entirety is the 1/12 of the year, availing itself to us to draw closer to Allah.

Asalam Alaikum dear brother and thank you for the introduction to this special event at the night time.
If I may, I have a question on how to handle that what we meet inside.
Associated with memories of people and places of our personal past come feelings, emotions. Now for the good memories, that is easy, and gratefulness is the answer, although there is a tendency to neglect the many privileges we have.
But what to do with the many painful, traumatic, hurting experiences, situations, that we flee from in "outer life" or tend to project as problems on other people?
Combined with or attached to the repeated resentments, accusations, blockades toward other people as well as our selves.
I write this also (!) as a german born muslim convert, who has a family burden in alignment with the German History between 1933 and 1945.

I think one of the best ways is to seek forgiveness from Allah and always remember: “Will they not turn to Allah in repentance and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Quran 5:74.

I am not a German but love Germans and Germany.
I like the recovery and reslience shown by the Germans after the atrocities of 1914 _18. and then subsequent collective stress placed upon them. The recovery so remarkable. Even today ,when most of the western world that created the humanitarian crises of refugees from Iraq ans Syria ,also refused the refuge except for Germany. Ms Merkle appeared as an angel giving refuge to the refugees. So brother Germans have a lot to be proud off of today and the past and hopefully will do great in the future.
Congratulations for the intelligence and courage and humility in you a d many of fellow Germans.
      Happy Ramazaan.
Retreat of midnights are great for self growth and to serve God by coming up with ideas to service to humanity.
No matter what my field of expertise is medicine engineering, business, or service industry that sense of creativity and ideas at time of tranqulity to serve humanity better grace us, when we are in the presence of the MOST GRACIOUS ONE GOD OF ALL.
Then we enter the day with this prayer. Rabbi adqilnee mudqila siddquin ,wa aqhrijnee mukhraja sidquin ,waj alnee miladunkan sultannan naseera. Basically meaning help me with a great entry and exit and help me with you mighty help to face this day.

Thanks for your answers. Yes gratefulness for the achievements is always a good answer, being aware, who made it available, possible for us. Individually and collectively.
I am not to judge my ancestors. Still I have a growing BUT, the more knowledge I get about the shadow sides of all the enrichment and power, built on the ashes of so much grief and pain for others.
Of course Allahs mercy is always greater. But I am to handle what I meet within my little self.
This is the second day of my first Ramadan. I shall see how it develops.

      Brother Guy,
“That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another, And that man will have nothing but what he strives for; And that the result of his striving shall soon be known; Then will he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward; And that with thy Lord is the final judgment; S. 53:38-42 Sher Ali. We are absolutely responsible for only our own sins, which are incurred by our direct acts. Others cannot transfer their sins to us, in order to have theirs erased or even reduced. Nor can we inherit sins from our relatives or the ancestors.” Full explanation here: www.answering-christianity.com/karim/suffer_for_sin.htm
