- Опубликовано: 8 фев 2023
- Alejandro Linian made his network TV debut on the 9th season of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us." In this groundbreaking performance, Alejandro combined his love for magic with his cultural heritage by incorporating indigenous words into his tricks- a first for the show. The performance was broadcasted from Alejandro's virtual studio in Peru to the Penn & Teller theater in Las Vegas, bringing his journey as a former “Dreamer” full circle. Under the scrutinizing lens of a close-camera, the Peruvian magician skillfully materialized and vanished old Peruvian coins, while simultaneously discussing the ancient language of Quechua. Penn & Teller described the act as "Really, really, wonderful!" and "Just beautiful!" As the first magician from Peru to appear on the popular prime-time TV show, Alejandro's performance is not to be missed.
Penn & Teller: Fool Us - season 9, episode 10: “The Evil Magic Octopus.” Originally aired on February 3rd, 2023.

The best coin routine ever! And your moves are so clean. Just perfect.
Wow, thank you!
That was just beautiful!!! You are a master slight of hand artists. Your sense of timing for both the drama and the magic is so powerful! Kudos!
Wow, thank you!
Que orgullo tener a un compatriota en este show 🇵🇪
Muchas gracias, Gonzalo! 🙏
Looking forward to the day that your American dream comes true, so that you can make all our magical dreams come true!
Very kind of you to say. Thank you Chris!
Muito bom Alejandro !! Mestre das moedas !!! 🙂
Obrigado 😊!!
¡Felicitaciones compatriota! ¡Excelente magia! ¡Que sigan los éxitos!
Muchísimas gracias, Gonzalo!
I replayed each vanish 4-5 times, focusing on different hands and areas each time, and there is *nowhere* the coins could have gone. This was absolute, masterful perfection.
I think the coins are gimmicked, working with matrioska principle, they probably are shell coins, where one fits inside the other.
@@thefierybrib Nah, it was just really clean sleight of hand and misdirection. I didn't realize that he was doing it until he did the reveal at the end. if you work backwards, you kinda figure out when he made those moves.
Still not downplaying Alenjandro though. Was a fun and clean routine.
As I watch this again a year later and turn my full attention from Alyson to the trick, at around 3.15
I saw exactly what happened in order to produce coins 3 and 4 -
they materialised completely from nothing!
Now that’s what I call magic!
Best coin magic routine! Bravo 👏😎🪄
Wow, thank you!
Mind blown!
Very clean. Great show, Alejandro
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Well done!
Thank you Jonathan!! 😊
Very beautiful and clean routine. Such a pleasure to watch and be amazed.
Thank you so much!
Wow! That was just magical...
Exactly what I was going for 😊 Thank you!
That was the best coin magic I have seen in quite a while. Well done.
Thank you Bambulko!
Very nice. Greetings from germany 🤗
Still a beautiful performance! Great job, sir!
Thank you kindly!
@@alejandrolinian Of course!
Really great! I enjoyed this a lot!
Hi Mahdi, I’m a big fan! Thank you so for the kind words. It means a lot!
I sorta-kinda know how you did it - maybe - just logically and knowing about magic and sleight of hand, but I didn't actually see any of the moves! So clean and well-done! Smooth!
Thank you!
Exactly!
@@naopak6750 😊
Bien Alex!!!, conmovedora tu historia, y muy buena magia!

Campeonazo!!
Beautiful presentation! Keep up the good work! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much 🤗
Your coin magic is great!
Thank you!
Munay! Sigue extender magia, y quechua!
That's a great routine. 🔥
Aww I blushed at him sharing absolute love. What a cool trick! Sleeves were rolled up and all which makes this even more incredible.❤
Thank you Julie! So happy you enjoyed it.
I am far from being able to do anything of this and I still got fooled by almost all vanishes and appearances. But maybe I've been watching Penn&Teller far too much. I've seen every time you loaded a coin under the cards for the final trick except ISKAY as that was when the camera was on Teller. Still very beautiful.
Great job! Your dreams will come true. Never let them go.
Great work buddy!! Would love to see more of you
More to come!
Loved the presentation
Thank you Tony!
Nice work, very convincing
Glad you liked it!
I love this! Good luck on your visa
Thank you Rebecca!
AWWW. You are beautiful & wonderful. Great work. 💖
You know what's even more magical and the thing I was truly impressed with besides slight of hand? You speak very good English with no accent 😀
Bonita rutina!!! 👏👏
Gracias 🤗
One thing I dislike about these videos is the camera leaves the magicians and turns to the audience or the hosts at crucial moments. It leaves us wondering what the magicians did while we couldn't watch. That reduces the effects
I appreciate the feedback! One thing I can tell you is that this piece is directly from my virtual shows, where I perform it exactly like you saw here- for one camera that never cuts away! For television they often do the cuts to make things shorter, and more dynamic.
@@alejandrolinian that's really cool. I am sure you would not use any visual trick and had to work really hard to fool penn and teller. But it is a disservice to the performer when the camera cuts off parts making us appreciate the act less. In this video specifically, there are times the camera switched to the hosts and when it came back your hand already picked up the card. I wish we could see how you did it and how smooth it was.
It was just a general comment that applies to most shows like AGT and P&T
@@b3arwithm3 totally get that! And thanks 😊
That was clean.
Thanks so much!
Very nice routine and excellent sleight of hand. I know your channel is new, but I hope you are able to produce more content.
Thank you. Already working on more stuff!
That was amazing sleight if hands. He literally pulled a coin out of thin air literally
That’s also a very clean tie 👍
Very nice effect, great sleight, although I could actually hear the clams doing their thing on a couple of occasions
Sad story not allowed back in USA and he's been living there from age 11 to he was 19
Yes. But I built that studio and broadcasted myself onto the Penn & Teller theater. I’m very proud!
WOW!
Congrats, mate, and all the best in your life, regarding those visas and stuff! Cheers from Portugal!
Thanks so much! I appreciate that.
Nice and clean indeed Alejandro, you fooled me and that’s what matters, the audience 🙂
By the way can someone explain why we’re back to the pandemic format, remote performance and zero audience on the TV set, is there a new virus in the USA, or another coronavirus wave?
Thank you! To answer your question, They kept the remote performances option for artists like myself who couldn’t travel. I’m glad they did!
Muy Buena rutina! Todavia no has podido regresar a america?
Gracias ☺️ Todavía no!
That was extraordinary!!!! Pure magic!!! No one else knows how you did it and neither do I. You can do this for the rest of our life and make a living from it and fool everyone else but Penn and Teller.
Thank you Testa! That’s very kind of you ☺️
yes its easy actually.
That looked so good that even if you told me what happened I'd still believe it was magic ha
:D I appreciate that!
Why didn't they fly u to Las Vegas?
Visa problems! They would’ve otherwise.
Estoy Seguro que vas a regresar a Los estados unidos y aser tu sueño realidad y ami me encataria visitar Machu pichu
I don't know if this guy ever saw Penn and Teller do any acts, but they have done exactly these tricks many times and I dont know why anyone would go through so much trouble to show them a trick that everybody who knows anything about P & T would know they know.
To promote the Quechua language :) Thanks for watching!
Did you notice that the Peruvian magicician was signing as he talked?
I didn’t see anything, so I’m still not sure where it actually happens. Mega skills!
Thank you!! 😊
I say this much what you DID which was Xtra special was when moved yr other hand behind the table. Most times that's when a magician is doing "something" but it seemed not to play a part...
Watching Alyson it’s plain to see she has the most enjoyable job on the planet.
Avrachdabra is two words in Hebrew that, like the sign of the Vulcans presented by the actor Leonard Nimoy in the Star Trek series, also here the great magician Houdini presented so-called magic words in Hebrew that say, and I will say again -
Nice twist on that, Alejandro! Sorry for the non sequitur, but where can I pitch in to buy Alyson a new wardrobe? It's criminal they don't get her some outfits to cycle through. lol.
😆
Wondering why people want to live in a country that doesn't want them.....
There are a lot of different places to go that don't have as much racism.
Nice trick, greetz from the Netherlands
I appreciate the question! Though I think it conflates a lot of issues. I’m writing a whole essay about this, so I don’t think I could answer that briefly. But I can say this. 1) It makes sense for someone to want to live in the place the grew up in. 2) There’s a difference between “wanting to live there” and a desire to able to go there at all… Very difficult to delve deeply into any of this in a one minute segment for a magic show though :D
Additionally, regarding “places with less racism.” I’ve found racism everywhere and quite frequently much more overtly. And being able to just migrate to any other part of the world is also not legal for everyone on the planet. Most can’t.
Thank you again. And so glad you enjoyed the magic!
If you need a sponsor, let me know
alejandro definitely qualifies for an einstein visa
😌
I guess the word “snail” & “clam” were the hints but if that’s true I think it made difficult slight of hand even more ridiculous.
Wish you got to do in it the actual theater! Do they not pay for travel?
yes that is the secret...Snail and Clam...what do they have in common?
@@MikeFarnhamGalaxysEdgeGroup They're both delicious to eat!
SECRET - they gave it away at the end in code..."Clam"...
They really won't let this guy in but all the murderers and human traffickers get the red carpet
