A tip I'm sure you'll find useful is you can build walls and spikes outside the building range. Also, you should abuse the terrain. The monsters can't climb natural high ground and walk through trees so do your best to use them to your advantage
You can abuse pathfinding more, to focus your stone on tall, strong walls in the spots that matter instead of a full wraparound, and hold more territory by putting them closer to spawn zones. The enemies always come from the four cardinal directions, following the paths marked in red on the map (M) at nighttime. They will only deviate if damaged and focus on their attacker, or if they see a piece or structure within easy reach. So it's entirely fine to have open undefended routes if you plan carefully. Scout all the way to the edge once, so you know that terrain. Windows are a big deal, allowing lobbers and cannons to shoot from a max toughness wall while still getting their low height bonus and a range bonus. This also lets you make multiple-thick max walls, with merlons on top of windows just to save stone on height. Use stone half arches to set a wooden platform behind the window, for banners and other bonuses. And the bottom layer of the wall should have one-block-wide faces toward the enemy, to have more total effective HP in that direction.
I realize that this would be confusing but I wish the houses had slightly different designs for each individual one like They are Billions. No city like a they are billions city. But the art in this game is just as good
I get what you mean, I also love the idea of each building having slight variations, you don't need to alter the top or anything but having just the front features different would really give something to a small city being built
It has a lot of stuff going on that I liked from previous games and apart from how the soldiers feel a little like mobile towers I do love how the game feels so far
@@FallenShogun it has the demo still up on steam page 2 days ago and i came across 3 days ago, that little blue "download demo" button on the right side panel. I didn't realise it was releasing in two days😂
Well, congrats for trying to make do in an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE MAP. Horrible for you, that is. The enemy think it's great. Methinks you had some bad luck in the map seed.
Honestly having that much of an open space with zero resources I think I did well for it. I was able to even build a moderately ok fortress though how long it lasts would be a different question
This game is what we all hoped Castle story could have been.
Oh how I wish Castle Story had done well and not suffered extremely catastrophic issues with how badly it ran on its own engine
Still love Castle Story, but it's really genuinely just kind of a mess😅

Thank you for the faster editing pace, was searching for a while for Cataclismo endless without someone rambling for ages
Hey did you know? The main building, the citadel, has two towers with parapets that you can build structures on, like air-filters.

You should do more of this, everything was perfect, editing especially.
At least another 60 days, real cool game!
Interestingly it combines elements from other games together and this looks fun.
