Panthor didn't have different armor? and you can only tell the heads are different on close inspection. battle lion has more unique parts.
Battle Lion will look great in my DCUC Teen Titans display =)
Although, I would like to repaint it as a regular color but muscular lion.

I second the call for a Clawdeen. Now that we have a great motuc lion, matty can give us a two tone pink repaint as filmation Clawdeen for Catra! After all, he was in the vintage line.
Actually Clawdeen is a female but she has male lion features.

I seriously wish I was a fan of this series...or at least that my favorite series get figures with the same quality :!!
I have both Battle cat and Panthor but I never opened them. This one looks great but, I do agree that he should have been bigger. Only thing I wish they all had were ball joints at the shoulders and hips of the base body. It seems to have the standard old school joints allowing only forward and back rotation and not having and outward movement. Again, I never opened mine to examine it so I could be wrong. Great figure though. Too bad I missed out on it. :/
So does every guardian of Grayskull have their own steed? I mean He Ro has Turbodactyl and He Man has Battle Cat so I wonder what type of steeds the others had,
what do you think a plush version of this lion would look like? some-what similar to the plush version of Battle Cat, perhaps? or maybe just a little bit different.
I wish I could afford this one. He actually looks a lot better without the mask. Great review!

Line was always odd to me since Ligers exist
Battle Lion depresses me. He was a steed/figure we really have very little need for as there is only a few sorts of scenarios he could be put in, (see He-man going back in time ect)
Thing is, there is a figure/steed very close to his design that they should have made instead. Clawdeen! Imagine Battle Lion, but without the armor and instead of green, colored a mesh of pink, violet and black. Maybe throw in a little magenta for highlights and viola! An amazing looking steed for Catra. Skeletor has his steed. He-man has his steed... She-ra has her steed... so going by this idea, Katra should have hers... but instead a background character such as Grayskull gets one instead? That makes almost no sense at all.
Fact is, I'm willing to bet that almost the only reason they created Battle Lion, was so that we could use the armor on Battle Cat and create a 200X version. You can check it out yourself Dan. The helmet didn't really sit all that well on the lion, but it actually clips on much better on Battle cat. Funny how that goes right? I.E, the armor was created for Battle cat, not for Battle Lion.
Back to Clawdeen. You know what else that could be included with a Clawdeen figure? Catra's transformed panther state!!
but also King Grayskull was released, so, maybe that makes sense for the lion to be released too...
Yeah, we should have gotten clawdeen, mantisaur, storm, and so many other battle mounts as figures. Damnit Mattel...huge missed opportunities...big time.

Wow..first time seeing this. Itd be awesome if had tiger stripes. Still cool.
Is it just me or does it almost seem as if the saddle, with its control panel and design almost seem to double as a air vehicle also? If King Greyskull needed to seperate from Battle Lion, maybe go high up say to the top level of Castle Greyskull. I know it seems a bit far fetched but we are talking about a world of science & magic.

I still think it has way too much articulation, I hate Battle Cats and Panthors, they are a pain in the ass to pose them, now King Grayskull doesn't look like he is sitting on Battle Lion, he looks like he is standing on top....

king grayskull body with cape removed + new snake armor head sculpt = 200x heman classics version...
must be like the star wars universe, as time goes by the technology gets less advanced

The Seattle looks horrible it sits wrong the circles should be over the front legs and the seats to far back looks awkward . Thing looks better on battle cat.
I never cared for battlecats armor in 200x series. It just completely impractical for combat. Like his mask and paw guards would be coming off constantly. At least the original Battlecat wore a full helmet. I also didn't like he was mute in the cartoon either.
The lion looks cooler than the tiger.
