Yessir!
I like you dude! Keep this up - very helpful tips and people should be listening to doing this as you’re demonstrating. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Great demo
Thank you Steve!
Finally beat this at Maryland even with the double rope set up
Hell yeah!
Nice. Mostly common sense advice, but how would you recommend training for it? I can do Sawtooth, Wheel World (usually) and such but never have luck with those ropes. How can I train/work grip for that? Is it best to try to grab the entire clump of ropes or just a few? Grab high on the ropes or at the knots?
Making a video on how I train grip this weekend, but bouldering, dead hands, farmers carries, ect is how I personally do
@@obstacleactivist9741 I've only beaten TB once out of about 10-12 different races. I will say that one thing I tried that might have helped was towel over bar deadhangs (for vertical grip). You could also talk about knees to alternating elbows for grip and body control. This has been a bad year - more injuries limit my training but I'm hoping for better luck in 2020 (and maybe at Savage GA this October.
I personally find it easier when I grab high on the ropes. I've seen one common mistake a lot of people do is grab barely by the knots and that's when they slip and fell in the water. So always try to reach and grab as high as you can on the ropes, plus you'll notice they're more dry at the top and it's less likely your hands will not slip.
Grab high. Remember to use your hips to create swing. The more you pull on your back hand and swing, the higher you end up being able to grab. Sometimes it might be worth it to grab ropes but don't let go on back hand and regrip the ropes but higher on next swing forward before committing to next swing through
