If I were the Devil if I were the Devil
If I were the Prince of Darkness, I'd want to engulf the whole world in darkness,
and I’d have a third of it's real estate, and four-fifths of it's population,
but I wouldn't be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree - thee.
So I'd set about however necessary to take over the United States.
I’d subvert the churches first.
I'd begin with a campaign of whispers with the wisdom of a serpent.
I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve, "Do as you please."
To the young I would whisper that the Bible is a myth.
I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around.
I would confide that what's bad is good and what's good is square.
And the old, I would teach to pray after me, "Our Father - which art in Washington."
And then I'd get organized.
I'd educate authors in how to make Lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting.
I'd threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa.
I'd peddle narcotics to whom I could.
I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction.
I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.
If I were the Devil I'd soon have families at war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves, until each in it’s turn was consumed.
And with promises of higher ratings, I'd have mesmerizing media fanning the flames.
If I were the Devil I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions, just let those run wild until before you knew it you'd have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.
Within a decade I'd have prisons overflowing.
I’d have judges promoting pornography.
Soon I could evict God from the courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of congress.
And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion and deify science.
I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls and church money.
If I were the Devil I'd make the symbol of Easter an egg, and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.
If I were the Devil I would take from those who have and give to those who wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious.
What will you bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich.
I would caution against extremes, in hard work, in patriotism, in moral conduct.
I would convince the young that marriage is old fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on TV is the way to be.
And thus, I could undress you in public and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure.
In other words, if I were the Devil...
I'd just keep right on doing what he's doing.

I was shocked when I first heard this one and really paid attention to it. It's frightening. :)
It truly saddens me that so many see the world this way, in such a hopeless and negative light. I understand where they are coming from, but it's frightening how quickly man will abandon faith in his neighbor and the world, based on judgments of their own design rather than the faith they profess to follow. Would any of those who view life in this way imagine Jesus, were he to walk among us today, would take such a downtrodden, judgmental, and morally absolute stand? I cannot fathom that any true believers in the word of Christ could take such a stance, when the words he preached maintained constant and unwavering insistence on forgiveness, respect and non-violence between brothers and neighbors, abstinence from judgement or shunning of others based on our worldly ideations of evil, and above all else love for all of God's creations... including oneself and all others, regardless of creed or faith, no matter how different they may be or how fervently the modern Pharisees at the helm of all the world's religious institutions may subvert the truth of those words so they can convince their congregations that it will always be US against THEM...
How easily false idols and self-interested shepherds may lead their sheep to a cliff, and then convince them it was their own idea to jump.

The book of Revelation in the Bible is relatable too in some pretty eerie ways. It talks about a one world government under the antichrist and the mark of the beast being forced on people, that whoever doesn't take the mark on the right hand or forehead will not be able to buy, sell, pay bills, get medical treatment or otherwise function in society. A certain viral pandemic in 2020 pushed us closer than ever to a cashless society run by computers. Imagine Democrats being in charge of that, people who tried to put Trump in prison for the rest of his life just to keep him from being President of the United States. Draconian...

I urge you to look into Christianity, do some research on your own without influence from anyone or anywhere. Read the bible and do some digging online. I was THE BIGGEST skeptic about God and karma etc. I truly believed it was all BS and had a very scientific driven mindset. I can tell you after seeing the things I've seen and reading what I have (I'm not even finished reading the bible yet) there is no denying that this is VERY real. If you let it I can promise you it will change your life and bring you happiness you never thought possible. Once you realize Christ's message to us all, accept it and start paying forward your knowledge and love you will change the world.

You don't know if he was led by the Holy Spirit on this or not. The Lord warned us of false prophets in the last days. Not once did he mention the name of Jesus nor did he talk about salvation through Jesus Christ. His prophecy was titled if I were the devil. Just because someone prophesies that something's going to happen and it actually does happen in the future does not mean those prophecies are coming from the Lord. Jesus said many will come in my name and many will prophesy in my name so beware of false prophets and beware of false teachers and false preachers so that you are not led astray. If it was a prophecy from the Lord he would have told you the Lord commanded him to warn you of these things. A true prophet of the Lord when giving a prophecy from the Lord always says thus saith the Lord of hosts or thus saith the Lord thy God. Not once has a prophet ever said if I were the devil. Be careful so you are not led astray and deceived. I urge you to read the Bible so that you know the scriptures from your heart. Pray to the Lord Jesus for discernment so you will be able to recognize the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the word of God. Jesus said my sheep know my voice. Not once did he talk about salvation. He predicted events that would happen in the future That's fortune telling. And if He was filled with the Holy Spirit he would never have been able to say the words "If I were the Devil." Darkness cannot reside in the light. When the Holy Spirit lives inside you will not be able to speak a prophecy that comes straight from Satan himself. And that is exactly what this prophecy is It is a prophecy from Satan himself because this man continues to say if I were the devil. He's not saying thus saith the Lord thy God this, this and this is going to happen.

My dad and I worked together, we would listen to Paul Harvey at lunch, the rest of the story. I miss them both, would give all my worldly possessions to listen to one more rest of the story with my Dad.

Also on internet-- if i was a cop-- if i was a farmer--i miss the Golden Voice on the radio, he was lead by God, for God and always Class! Not one thing was a stranger to his broadcast's! Everything was on the table, but he did the story with reverance, clarity, and he was proof, the eyes really do See All, the Ears really do hear All, all you had had to do was to open your mind! In my junior year in highschool I had a class called current events for my first period. We listened to Paul Harvey every morning. He was a voice of reason to say the least.....I miss the 1980s!!!!

As horrible as that is; I prefer a God that doesn't create everything, abandon it all to it's will and then return to cherry-pick.(I had a deadbeat parent like that. Surely, The Almighty is above such morbid behavior; right?)

Back in the 1950's my Grandfather would always make us kids sit down and BE QUIET, Paul Harvey is coming on the radio! I listened to Paul for several decades after that. One I remember is "Ten Commandments for a responsible pet owner". Paul Harvey cared about us.

I’ll like to call myself agnostic, because I grew up in hell coming from communist Cuba, and can’t honestly believe in any faith, but this speech have proven to be prophetic , in the 30 years I have been living here I have seen all this transformations precipitates exponentially, if you have more material like this I would like to hear it, thank you.

She said in 1968, you can find the prophesy there that in the last days we will se naked people on tv, that there would be many many canal on tv and that people would turn away from church doing all kinds of wicked things. Exactly. Glad someone understands truth and completely because it is so important this time and now to know salvation is NOW! Don't wait to tomorrow for it is so sosososo not promised ppl!! That IS the time we are truly in..I pray more ppl see and hear the truth and are not inhale to do so because of being in the dark so long and accepting it... Loved Paul Harvey. Grew up listening to his broadcast and “The Rest of the Story”. My parents had their car radios tuned to the station he came on so I heard him just about every day growing up. Such fond memories of a great childhood!
