it's unfortunate you can't taste the actual dishes, Sisig and Siomai are literally heavenly and are my favorite foods as a meat lover. but im glad you still enjoy the vegetarian alternatives
1:46 also you notice that small green lime on the plate beside the siomai? that's called a "calamansi" and you are meant to squeeze it on the soy sauce or any dipping sauce. it will drastically enhance the dipping sauce and is used all the time in the Philippines, make sure you take note of that next time because it appears all the time in Filipino dishes
Province life in mountain areas has usually plant based recipes like jackfruit with coconut, taro leaves called laing, mungbean stew with veggies, eggplant boiled dipped in soy sauce plus vinegar and garlic and many more.
Try to go to carenderia you can find so many variety of vegetables to eat. Problems of high end restaurant they don't highlight vegetable foods more on meaty side.
Wow...impressive vegetarian restaurants and food selections 💚 It’s so amazing to see how you ate everything...no waste! I’m jealous you’ve been to so many beautiful islands and experienced 5 ⭐️ vegetarian foods. Happy travels to you both and see you back here 🇵🇭
It's true there are not a lot of vegetarian dishes but Filipinos actually eat more vegetables than meat . Most dishes in the restaurants are meet but at a Filipino home it's more vegetables and fish
I agree. In our household, we mostly eat vegetable or fish-based Filipino food. The meat-based foods are mostly served during fiestas, birthdays, or weddings. I think that's the reason why our meat-based foods are so popular because we serve them on big occasions, and the vegetable ones are mostly served at home.
@@bangwi we got invited to eat food with some families in Moalboal and there were a lot of vegetarian options. You guys do love your fish too! Any recommendations for good local vegetarian dishes?
Vegetarians don't eat meat or fish, vegans don't use any products that come from animals. For example, a vegetarian would eat egg but a vegan would not

They did go2 a couple of carinderias. Most of the food choices at carinderias are not hot. Better when it’s freshly cooked.
I'll try and visit more carenderias next time I'm in the Philippines!
This is unique. New subscriber here.
