Thanks for sharing. I’m embarking on the same journey this year (or at least the first half of). Already loving and relating to some of your points (slowing down, tactile, patience). Great video, subbed.
Thank you for your comment! Hoping the best in your journey, and you capture some amazing moments! Slowing down and patience are probably the two things I needed with my work, and I’m glad I was able to learn through film photography
Film is inferior to digital and there's nothing you get out of film that you can't get from a digital camera and even better.. You hipsters are the cause of the price gouge from the fad. Chasing leica, hasselblad etc.. those are boxes in film photography and any other box like the nikomat will take sane pix. Or everyone is shooting gold, portra, etc.. what about orwo, harman phoenix, lomo etc.. spread the demand and not just all kodak
Many would disagree with you and many others would agree with you, we are entitled to our own opinion. :) Correct, chasing Leica and Hasselblad is not worth it because there are just as good film cameras out there. For example, Mamiya's, Bronicas, Yashikas etc all medium formats cameras that cost way less than a Hasselblad and they do the same thing! I talked about this in my video that people will see the popularity of a camera buy it from a thrift store or second hand shop and price gouge it on Ebay or OfferUp, and it is so unfair because for some people that is their dream camera! It is unfair that Porta and Gold tend to the limelight because Lomography is a good film stock, same with CineStill, Orwo Wolfen UN54 is such a good black and white film, I think the one issue is that because Porta and Gold get so much attraction that camera shops tend to hold that inventory more than other film stock inventory. I should have listed other film stocks that are amazing, that is definitely on my part. I remember when I was in Portland, they had so many unique film stock that I bought just to try out! What a good conversation, thank you for your comment!
