Met him at Barney's Beanery in 82. Had the pleasure of meeting most top guitarists over the years. Not only a Great guitarist, and GENUINE guy! Was a pleasure Nils...
Lived with Mum and Dad while they were on a posting in Washington DC from Australia 1969-72 (what a period to be there!) and Nils and Grin were a local DC band. My sister had 1+1 which I still listen to today. They were played on WHFS a great FM radio station at the time.
Nils is a monster talent himself .. with a great voice , unique guitar player..There’s a great Old Grey Whistle Test of him doing ‘Going Back ‘ ..excellent
Sat with on anvil cases on the stage at Shoreline amp during the bridge school. Chatted for 10 minutes....very down to earth guy, just like in this video. I asked him his top 5 moments of his career and he said a gig in Ireland with the eStreet band...i think it was Dublin. Said it was truely magical. He also mentioned the Amisty international tour with Tracy Chapmen and sting?
Absolutely! Nils was great on After the Gold Rush. And great addition to Neil during the Tonight’s the Night era as a Santa Monica Flyer. Billy and Ralph find the groove. Some say they are sloppy, they have feel. Don’t spook the horse! ☮️❤️
Bunch of friends and I went to the 85 Born in the USA show at RFK in DC. My friend was to my right and the stage was to his right. Nils was wearing the huge cowboy hat and my buddy turn to me and he said this: "I hope Nils does his flip," and as he was saying that and looking at me, Nils did his stage flip!! My buddy totally missed it.
saw him in a group called Elf.we went to see wishbone ash & MANFRED MANN’S EARTH BAND.they got booed off of the stage.not deserved but I think the crowd wanted the other 2 bands to play. They were really good especially MANFRED MANN’S EARTH BAND.
Nils guitar playing never fit the E Street Band and he has no on stage chemistry with Bruce. Nils likes going to harmonic overtones and some feedback where Little Steven is pure melody guitar. Everyone missed Little Steven's playing. Bruce does not need Patti or Nils.
Pretty common among classic rock aficionados.he emergegd in between.sometimes under the radar. If desired, well advised to go back to his roots, look closely after his evolvement, work ethics...
Never understood the whole Springsteen thing. He also cancelled a long anticipated show by his fans in NC when he decided to not perform over some political nonsense. Screwed those fans. No respect for him.
hey funny story - everybody at conan hated max wienberg's guts - but only because he was a total asshole - they used to literally THROW his drums into a hallway janitors closet after each show. saw it with my own eyes

Thank you Nils for all of your fabulous music!
Love this guy. Could listen to him speak and perform all day. One of the very best artists and so modest, probably to his own cost at times.
One of the all time greatest.
Great story...I'll never forget seeing Nils and Grin playing in Northern Virginia back in 72. A great pleasure.
I remember...In Georgetown, St. Albans and W.T. Woodson HS
What a great career this man has had
The guitarist behind the scorching, riveting solo on "Tunnel of Love", my favorite song of all time, by ANY artist.

Fascinating. Where's part 2? Thanks.
And a super nice fella.
“Night after Night” ….probably my favourite Live album by any Artist . Still listen to it regularly since 1977 when I was a young Cadet . Wonderful !
Nils is a monster talent himself .. with a great voice , unique guitar player..There’s a great Old Grey Whistle Test of him doing ‘Going Back ‘ ..excellent
Nils is a great guitarist, who had the best of both worlds. Playing with Neil and then Bruce. Now a member of both.
A delightful man!!❤
Nils is a fantastic guitar player

Nobody has had a career that can rival Nill's. All that time with Neil and than he joins up with Bruce. That's just crazy.
Great to hear his story. Finding fulfillment after slighted by the recording “industry” seems to me to be sweet justice.
Crazy Horse should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I saw Nils play with Neil Young in 1972 in Chicago. I was blown away by his guitar playing on “You’re the Weight.”

Put Crazy Horse in the rock and roll hall of fame.
Play video games at a friggin bar, eighties bruv
Is it just me, or does Nils sound exactly like Peter Falk aka Colombo?
No doubt Nils has improved Bruce 's guitar playing .
Nils the R&R HOF is a Joke like Steve Miller says.
Never understood he plays 3 hour near 30 songs never same setlist takes requests on songs he not played in years.
They say "never meet your heroes" here's another one "never watch your heroes act on Curb Your Enthusiasm".
Huh? The Bruce episodes were great. 😄
That's quite a nonlinear story.
With out a doubt, one of the greatest guitar players ive ever seen

I wonder what Bruce would say about your post. You know, since HE is the artist.
Agree to disagree about Nils but Patti absolutely adds nothing to the band
Love Nils. Tired of the politics though. Cry tough in November.
There was no politics in this video - only you brought it in. Cry tough indeed.
🤣
the only one who will be crying in Nov is you but maybe you can show up in DC on 1/6/25 and do your thing to try and stop the certification again. GFY
Personally, I don’t get the whole Bruce Springsteen thing??? Kinda like Taylor Swift.

You are entitled to you opinion about Bruce but please don’t compare him to Taylor Swift, that’s just wrong.
Freakin boring as hell
Never understood the whole Springsteen thing. He also cancelled a long anticipated show by his fans in NC when he decided to not perform over some political nonsense. Screwed those fans. No respect for him.
This imp is annoying. I liked a few Grin tracks, and of course, whatever he contributed to Tonight’s the Night. But his babbling is tiresome.
WTF?
What about After The Goldrush? You just gonna ignore that iconic piano melody from Southern Man?
The guy is a HUGE talent as a guitar player -- but I guess that is not important in your world.

glorified elevator music
