I think the big thing is just they are willing to do big swaths of balance changes to overall specs and specific hero talents between patches which is great to see even if I don’t agree with every single change it’s nice to see
Pres Evoker here - the overhealing thing on Consume Flame is deceptive, because Consume Flame currently spits out massive amounts of healing onto every target it can find, including pets. Pets are usually at full health, so that's basically all overhealing, causing the overhealing number to appear higher in logs than it actually is. Going into the log you showed, it looks like the actual overhealing done by Consume Flame on players is closer to 10-20% on average (with a few outliers such as the pres evoker itself). So this nerf will probably kill Flameshaper Preservation... but Preservation as a spec will be fine because Chronowarden is also very strong and is more fun to play anyways.
Love watching these videos, but I also greatly appreciate you linking the notes you talk about in the description, so I can actually find them if I'm not in a situation to watch it.
Ah yes, take the thing resto shamans have zero of, an external, and make the kinda external we had even worse. Of course, how did we never think of this.
That BM change is 9% nerf for single target and 9% buff for aoe, seems fine but in reality BM is now 10-15% behind on single target in comparison to MM and survival, and 40% behind on AOE in comparison to MM which means that it is basically dead as dps spec.
@@avalectra1 every specc has enough movement tools to execute their rotation without loosing dps, we are not in classic anymore. maybe it takes a bit longer than bm to learn the fight, know when you need the movement in the fight, but when you progress the fights you will see people catch up very quick to their speccs full potential while hunters stay almost the same dpswise. bm is good for nothing now, not good in st, not good in burst aoe, not good in sustained aoe, not good in execute, not good for bursting down a new priority target. if movement really is a problem, why not give bm something they have to stand still, but do more dmg.
They need to demote the BM hunter dev and hire one that understands the spec and can run a basic sim. With these changes they nerfed BM ST by 9%, making it now the worst spec in mythic raid and bottom 3 in heroic. As it was already the weakest DPS in M+, the dev just single-handedly killed the spec in all forms of group content
San’Layn’s biggest detriment is that Reaper just throws out like 3 or more huge scythes. Maybe if the blood abomination showed up a lot more often it would give it that visible ooof it needs.
Yes. Make it proc on demand. Let's say from dancing rune weapon. Having proc based tank defensive is troll. Though there is some kind of this change coming up in the anniversary patch. Would be perfectly happy with San being more defensive and easier to play spec vs death more offensive and skill intensive
@@mrmoveup thing is I’m not sure what real defensiveness it brings, but it and the “condemn” animation vamp strikes use are the only really cool thing about the hero tree. So let it have that pizzazz in a regular cadence that can also be used on demand at the points where we need help with defense and aggro - the start of a pull.
Master of Harmony is actually a well designed spec; it’s just behind in numbers. For tanks it was only a bit behind but for Mistweavers it wasn’t even a close second. To the point that you would feel like you are griefing your raid if you play it. That’s not really where the hero specs should be.
The Coalescece for Mistweaver is a huge buff that could make the spec honestly OP for the dumbest reason. It used to be 10% and it means now that whenever you apply the buff all of your throughput is 30% higher which is a huge number.
Being someone who prefers Arms this season has just been so frustrating, the spec just keep catching stray after stray as blizzard tries to tune fury without any kind of compensation buffs for arms. The Warrior discord is even saying the fury changes are coming out as a net gain for fury, neutral on ST (which is what they really need) and a small gain on AoE while Arms its a 1% nerf on ST and AoE and Colossus is still over 9% behind Slayer on ST.

As a Brew player, I think the devs doesn't understand anything. With 4pc, the main dps source is Keg. Shado-pan buffs Keg, while Harmony doesn't. Why would I run Harmony even with the tuning? Now the only good thing about Harmony is that you get more Celestial Brews, and a bit more healing from Purifying. That's sounds ok, expect that both of these defensive spells are pretty dogshit. Celestial Brew is basically just 1-2 casts of Ignore Pain. Amazing. Brewmaster obviously needs buff to its base kit rather than hero talents. Hope they come soon.
I mean they DID know the tier set was weak because of outside sources doing the sims and also internally blizz agreed. Which is why they “nerfed” the spec and gave the power to the tier to make the tier better…. It just didn’t have the result they wanted so they are buffing the baseline back up.
15:50 Manather did some sims, now frostfire frost is only 5.8% behind in single target and actually slightly ahead in AoE (0.5%). It used to be 14% behind in ST so it's getting there :)
Rogues, "we EXPECT this to be an overall net increase" do we expect anything from blizzard in terms of balancing...they are litterally reverting 80% of there nerfs to alot of these classes from when they nerfed them in beta, for example shadow priest just now most of them like void blast was nerfed back them just to get buffed yet again when they should have just left it alone from the start

Almost every havoc response to aldrachi being buffed was negative. People were RELIEVED when the total buffs turned out to probably not change anything. That shows how bad that hero tree is in terms of design, yet it is having absolutely no changes in 11.0.5.
I'm keeping an eye on the changes but am not playing until November after the 20th Anniversary drops! All of this will change again by then at least three more times! They need to fix the Earthen brokenness!

Healing buff is definitely the wrong approach to resto druid. The issue resto druid has is the mana cost of rejuv. Buff resto druid by reducing rejuv cost rather than constantly giving aura buffs

Why do we want healers, specifically the only healer class with a range restriction and higher skill cap? Why are we expecting all healers to be roughly equal meanwhile keeping Pres handicapped. Nope. Healers need to be left alone and those who are way behind HPS wise buffed some.
df s3 and s4 warri was super strong and it was brought and even stacked during RTWF, so idk, since there are almost no st fights in the raid and they got crazy burst, how are they in a bad spot? arms needs a bit of love and prot is very good currently.
the downside to many of these changes, monk/druid specifically, is that they aren't even trying to address the discrepancies/deficiencies. Resto druid is outdated definitely but it isn't bad. It's being trumped. Brewmaster monk master of harmony simply isn't as tanky as shado-pan, you store vitality WAY too slowly and the talents are so lackluster compared to what's is shado-pan. 'Clarity of Purpose's' vitality storing number is a joke considering the tree is supposed to be for keeping stagger low and there is literally zero reason to have 2 charges of celestial brew other than hitting this weak shield twice.:: Mistweaver simply doesn't make sense to have 2 hero talents built to achieve the same goal of simple/basic aoe throughput. What master of harmony does needs to be changed. I would prefer something like Overwatches 'Zenyatta' character's ultimate. Make it channel, mobile and reduce incoming damage while amplifying your healing by 100% for 5 seconds since only your hots and statue are healing during this time. this will increase the utility of the spec as well. On top of all this, there are just too many useless nodes for both hero talents of mistweaver and brewmaster. No one takes jade wind, 'inner compass' is negligible, white tiger and black ox nodes in the middle just flat out suck (3% hp shield lol), 'Balanced stratagem' is flat out really bad, chi burst and chi wave still suck, etc. How about they fix brewmaster's ability to group mobs. they can add an ability that pulls enemies in like D4 barbarian chain pull or simply make 'clash' no suck. Clash should work like this: you have an aoe retical that you can place within 5 yards of you that is 6 yards wide, you place it on the pack you are tanking then click another location within 30 yards, and you black ox charge that group over to the 2nd chosen location, stunning/rooting all. Another answer, new talent: black ox charge - the black ox charges the enemy from behind, interrupting any spell casting headbutting them towards the monk. if they are immoveable they take dmg. Choice node: for this talent, make it a longer cooldown and make it an aoe or make it a lower cooldown, single target and no longer interrupt. I mean it's really not hard to fix the issues.
Not sure why they keep doing these buffs to San'layn, even if you also add in the changes that are on ptr ontop of the ones they just announced it's still not competitive and even if they do more tuning passes to keep buffing it, the level of rng and lack of defensive value would still not make you play it even if the damage might eventually be on par, they just need to rework that entire talent tree instead of tweaking numbers cause it's awful.
FYI, mage is kinda in the same boat as aldrachi where we are hoping Frostfire doesnt get buffed any more. It does fundamentally not work very well with either specs kit. Fire wants to cast fireball as rarely as possible anyways which is the skill that Frost Fire bolt is replacing. Also the travel time of the skill is super high making awkward to use. Frost has problems where in contrast to frost bolt the new version calculates damage on cast not impact, resulting in the core frost combo of bolt into flurry into double ice lance not working.
youre right. no one wants to play AR for havoc. and the worst part is... we dont have haste unles you tank keys id assume you have haste crit gear a bit. and itwas never even behind on ST but why suffer for such minimal ST when FS is just the go to for most fights in raid and ofc m+. we might see AR for sikran and princess now tho is my guess. we'll see who has haste lol

Only content is m+ since Legion, and it kills the hype to do runs fast when we have stuff like grim batol and siege :)

Prot pally pov: The lightsmith changes are not enough to bring it up to templar dmg, still way too weak. Wog goes from healing you for 45% of ur hp from under 30% hp to 50% with wings, still pathetic. They need to double the self heal and make it unable to crit so its finally consistent. 6% aura buff is really nice
No. In current Sims, i looks like LS will pull ahead in damage with these buffs in ST and AOE. There was already a long meltdown in the pally discord over this change. Lol

God knows why Arms is catching AoE nerfs, we're already one of the worst classes for M+. Or even for single target, I don't see Enhance getting nerfed when Arms and Enhance are really the same. Both are melees, both have big burst, both provide raid buffs. It was nice to have our time in the sun for a change but I suppose it's back to the middle.
fury's still insane when mobs don't live long so for AOTC and low key players (a biiiiig number of players) it's like the best AoE spec in the game still. They need to take power out of its big CDs - Odyn's, Roar, Spear, Bladestorm - and put it back into its core rotation. It's unhealthy for a spec to be able to press 2-4 buttons every 45/90s and make all the mobs die before the other specs even finish spreading dots. Also that would make Anger Management more appealing and I really really really like Anger Management Fury :)

Aldrachi Reaver is a vengeance tree, and those buffs are really good for it. I don't think havoc will be forced to play AR now

Make it channel, mobile and reduce incoming damage while amplifying your healing by 100% for 5 seconds since only your hots and statue are healing during this time. this will increase the utility of the spec as well. On top of all this, there are just too many useless nodes for both hero talents of mistweaver and brewmaster. No one takes jade wind, 'inner compass' is negligible, white tiger and black ox nodes in the middle just flat out suck (3% hp shield lol), 'Balanced stratagem' is flat out really bad, chi burst and chi wave still suck, etc. How about they fix brewmaster's ability to group mobs. they can add an ability that pulls enemies in like D4 barbarian chain pull or simply make 'clash' no suck. Clash should work like this: you have an aoe retical that you can place within 5 yards of you that is 6 yards wide, you place it on the pack you are tanking then click another location within 30 yards, and you black ox charge that group over to the 2nd chosen location, stunning/rooting all. Another answer, new talent: black ox charge - the black ox charges the enemy from behind, interrupting any spell casting headbutting them towards the monk. if they are immoveable they take dmg. Choice node: for this talent, make it a longer cooldown and make it an aoe or make it a lower cooldown, single target and no longer interrupt. I mean it's really not hard to fix the issues.
So the buff for prot pala dont ghange anything it dont raise the 2.9% tank balance on prot to anywere.
Yeah... WoG on protection paladin heals you for that amount *with* a 300% buff

Not sure why they keep doing these buffs to San'layn, even if you also add in the changes that are on ptr ontop of the ones they just announced it's still not competitive and even if they do more tuning passes to keep buffing it, the level of rng and lack of defensive value would still not make you play it even if the damage might eventually be on par, they just need to rework that entire talent tree instead of tweaking numbers cause it's awful.

FYI, mage is kinda in the same boat as aldrachi where we are hoping Frostfire doesnt get buffed any more. It does fundamentally not work very well with either specs kit. Fire wants to cast fireball as rarely as possible anyways which is the skill that Frost Fire bolt is replacing. Also the travel time of the skill is super high making awkward to use. Frost has problems where in contrast to frost bolt the new version calculates damage on cast not impact, resulting in the core frost combo of bolt into flurry into double ice lance not working.

youre right. no one wants to play AR for havoc. and the worst part is... we dont have haste unles you tank keys id assume you have haste crit gear a bit. and itwas never even behind on ST but why suffer for such minimal ST when FS is just the go to for most fights in raid and ofc m+. we might see AR for sikran and princess now tho is my guess. we'll see who has haste lol

Thats why I play during RWF: they dont tune anything, I can safely put time into 1 toon, get everything I want, then wait till next patch. 6 months is fkn long for a patch cycle, 1 month gaming, 5 months waiting, what a game.

@@havtor007 Yeah totally hated Legion with its 77 day patch cycles.. 🤣I wouldnt mind 6 months for 1 patch, too bad without a system it becomes boring fast as fk. With Titanforging + AP farm I went back to do raids and m+ every week (aka fully subbed during Legion) but now, I get my bis from raid and dont look back. Only content is m+ since Legion, and it kills the hype to do runs fast when we have stuff like grim batol and siege :)

Flameshaper is proactive healer, with limited range, that's a pure throughput healer.

@@monkeyjames9285 to each their own. The big difficulty with evoker is learning to optimize it, just one spell in the wrong order can reduce the HPS somewhere between 30- 80%

The lightsmith changes are not enough to bring it up to templar dmg, still way too weak. Wog goes from healing you for 45% of ur hp from under 30% hp to 50% with wings, still pathetic. They need to double the self heal and make it unable to crit so its finally consistent. 6% aura buff is really nice
No. In current Sims, i looks like LS will pull ahead in damage with these buffs in ST and AOE. There was already a long meltdown in the pally discord over this change. Lol

God knows why Arms is catching AoE nerfs, we're already one of the worst classes for M+. Or even for single target, I don't see Enhance getting nerfed when Arms and Enhance are really the same. Both are melees, both have big burst, both provide raid buffs. It was nice to have our time in the sun for a change but I suppose it's back to the middle.
Well, Unholy DK is dead now. It wasn't even overperforming to start with. That nerf makes no sense.

fury's still insane when mobs don't live long so for AOTC and low key players (a biiiiig number of players) it's like the best AoE spec in the game still. They need to take power out of its big CDs - Odyn's, Roar, Spear, Bladestorm - and put it back into its core rotation. It's unhealthy for a spec to be able to press 2-4 buttons every 45/90s and make all the mobs die before the other specs even finish spreading dots. Also that would make Anger Management more appealing and I really really really like Anger Management Fury :)
