I am definitely a small town person! I've tried city living. Sad thing is, people from other countries want to go see "the big apple", Vegas, ect. They aren't seeing what America is.
Now that's a crane!!!! Must be there for the wind mills....them might be alittle heavy for Dad Strength lol....thank you for the ride along Doc definitely enjoyed the ride!!!!
The new building is all concrete panels. That big dude was setting those panels. As soon as I'd seen it, my grey matter said, "Doc, you have to show that jurassic thing to Brandon"! Glad you enjoyed!
Lol! It is very cool and informative. I need to find a better way to get sound to my phone for these vids. I've tried headsets and Bluetooth but that hasn't seemed to help. There was so much more I would have liked to show, (Buffalo Bills interpretive center in Oakley KS), and much more. Sadly there are large range fires between Elwood and Arapahoe NE right now. Two men have died fighting this fire that started Wednesday. The hwy 283 I was on was closed yesterday from fire and smoke.
Scott City is beautiful at night around Christmas. I really miss being out at the ranch. There is more water out there than when we lived out that way.
It is very cool. Driving under it doesn't really show how big it is. I don't know if the internet has any pictures of the inside, but I'll lay odds it doesn't do it any justice.
I don't know Doc, I thought the left lane was reserved for Bull haulers??? But I suppose hanging, boxed or barrels of waste might still be included 🤔 Not sure about the drop deck though.. lol.. Nice to see some of the country you travel 👍😁 Thank you for the Scenery and the stories!! Take care
The left lane used to be called the Montfort Lane. Montfort was a large meat packing plant like IBP, (Iowa Beef Packers). Montfort had fast cabover trucks pulling refer trailers. Bull haulers actually don't drive that fast unless they are empty. Injured or dead livestock from rough driving doesn't pay well and get docked at the packing house.
We went a lot of years without cell phone laws, they fit under DISTRACTED Driving laws... But then the lawyers and government just couldn't understand the existing laws... Now it's those from south of the border that are always driving with the phone to their ear, cops don't bother them, but OMG, you or I get stopped and get the full penalties of the law... Thanks for the ride Doc!!
I really don't mind the "hands free" laws when it comes to cell phones. I do have issue with the penalties. Make it even across the board! At least 80% of the cars drivers have their phones in hand. These BOOBS don't know how much can be seen from a truck. I have spent hundreds of $$$ trying to find a headset that is comfortable and works well. I've tried to bluetooth it to my phone with the same sound quality as this video for results. (Low/poor).
It's amazing how much these towns remind me of my town

@@martinbenton742 working progress!👍say safe!!
I like to see those little towns you go through. One of these days we'll have to stop at the arch. I seen that's all burning by Elwood.

Them damn sand hill cranes are here by the thousands this time of the year also
They are goofy looking birds. People travel from around the world to see them gather in Kearney. Seems like there is one at every lake, big or small.
