Just waiting for the Octo no ping escape challenge XD
That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw that passive
On Reddit there was a post of somebody testing passive 2 and gaining up to 102 intel. That would be insane with the package - I guess a nerf is incoming…
If I had to guess, I'd say the simplest way to nerf the Passive 2 would be to put an upper limit on the amount of intel capacity you can gain from it. Just from a cursory glance, I think making it give less Intel capacity per 10 intel gained or making it require more intel to get more capacity both run the risk of making it effectively useless, whereas limiting the amount of bonus capacity you can gain makes sure you don't end up with situations where the package carrier has enough Intel capacity to have effectively infinite wallhacks (and it'd make it potentially more rewarding to run an Intel Capacity upgrade with his second passive).
Rocket Launcher? That's...out of this world!
its in our world
do we get 3 3 3 3 videos next time? we have to right?
I was so confused why I couldn't res NPCs sometimes, thanks for clearing that up for me!
Honestly, a package drain upgrade with that passive 2 would be a funny way to just walk up to someone while blocking the ping. Like at the end there on the guy with the bug. Just hold it to either walk past him or go up to the door, prep a shot, then pop open the door and fire.
I think his e2 is too good early. You can just turn it on near a guard or staff room and whoever is near gets their intel drained too fast.
They need to maneuver around the circles, so you can easily tell who it is. I think it ought to be changed to only affect intels you have visuals on / smaller circle / shorter uptime / or only drain intels if the enemy hacks while the expertise is on. With the new map being pretty claustrophobic, facing e2 octo easily shuts down your ability to enter rooms without keycards.
I don't know if I've used it enough to judge if its too good or not yet, but I do agree that there doesn't seem to be much counter play / avoiding it
@@1stGlitch i don't think there is much counter-play but because Oct uses skill, it kinda tells you that there is "player" nearby. I think that is reason why ability is strong because it has drawback. you see, every single expertise in the game has no drawback and only reward. Oct has reward but he has drawback for using it in the sense that he reveals his position. I think his max intel passive though is way too strong and needs to be-capped. it is not ok having 30-40 max intel per game. If the game lasts long enough, you can get 50+ intel. The fact that he can use gold chip scanner means that he has near permanent wall-hacks on golden case in end game which is not ok. a good cap for the passive 2 would be +10 equal to gold chip.
The counterplay would be the spyglass, no?
@@djhakase Unfortunately, not really. Because his e2 works on intel that's beyond walls and hidden inside drawers.
The only real counterplay for it is to bring the jammer gadget and announce to everyone near that you are a player, while denying yourself intel as well.
@@dodang_9147 Using your expertise shouldn't have drawbacks, but there should be limitations.
Expertise that affects other players should be used when others are around. Otherwise, it would be unfair if let's say Ace can instantly hunt down the nearest player on command, without even seeing them. What if Sasori's E2 causes poison to everyone who even sees the green for smelling it.
Then there are those that doesn't affect other players: Squire Spd, Larcin invis, Chav invul (arguable)... they're free to use it the way they see fit because they're the only ones affected.
As for Octo using his e2, feels like a stretch to say its a drawback because its similar to announcing he is "near". He can use his e2 on Fragrant Shore Guard Room E or D was it, to affect the staff room across the street, even the healing station just above if some intel spawn on the chairs or the restroom. He can even use it like squire does his E3 to test if the waters are dangerous, but add to that, it might give him intel too.
Hey its been a long time since I saw you playing. I’m glad to see to you back. also I love this new season and looks like you already know how to play properly octo, nice games!!!!❤
I've been running 2/1/2 with expertise on gold so that I can constantly be snapping intel! The highest max I've had was around 40 and that's without max intel chip!
Octo looks fun, sadly I have not been able to play sense he got added but soon.
70 damage my God. That will probably get nerfed
It did, it's 60 now
Of course when I go on vacation they update can’t wait to play him
So is octos full charge w2 the highest single damage that can be done to someone in cover?
Actually, no! If you poison a target with Sasori E2, which doesn't break your or their cover, and then land a charged W2 sword strike, it'll hit for 91, both of you in cover.
@@1stGlitch but the highest one that gives no warning then
@@John-lh1qx Tied with Sasori W2 charged sword then, both 70, but yes!
It's a reasonable tie if you don't take into account the Passive 2 giving extra Intel capacity.
Octo spends a lot of Intel (...well, it would be a lot of intel for anyone who isn't Octo) for a guaranteed 70 damage at range, unless the other Agent moves out of the way at the last second.
Meanwhile, Sasori can guarantee the 70 damage with the melee, but in order to do that he needs to A: identify a rival and get close enough to them without giving himself away, and B: have a plan to deal the remaining 30 (or slightly more, depending on enemy upgrades) damage needed to finish the job whilst under point-blank fire. A second uncharged strike from the W2 sword deals exactly 30 damage, but if the guy you were targeting has any version of Bulletproof Fabric then you'd need an extra hit (or poison!) to finish them off.
FUN FACT! This weapon's magazine design appears to be inspired by the French Chauchat Machine Gun.
Octo might trick people into spending time gathering more intel than they need. Just because you can hold 38 Intel, doesn't mean you should waste time gathering 38 intel haha We've been getting by with 10~14 intel just fine until now, so your time might be better spent doing other things to advance the game.
Absolutely! I gathered more than I would normally in the second game just to see how high I could make the number. But he does also need more than other agents, especially with this weapon, as it costs 5 intel for the big rocket
@@1stGlitchOvergathering Intel is so satisfying AHAHAHAH
I think a nerf is coming... oh... wait. It's like... 9 months ahead... did Octo's 2 ever get a falloff nerf?
Is the new agent strong?
Octo's abilities seem very strong, but his guns feel a bit weak. I think in team play he'd feel stronger, but in Solo's I'd liie to see slight buffs to hus weapons. He is very fun though!
IM HAVE A CRAZY IDEA! GO GET THE GOLDEN AMMO AND GO CRAZY WITH THIS GUN!
edit: ow, I’m saw overheat, damn
Ya the overheat is a little sad

Something I realized when hopping into Training mode to test Octo: his Weapon 3 is just Widowmaker's primary from Overwatch. It goes full-auto when hipfiring, and acts as a sniper rifle when ADS'd - the only difference is that I'm reasonably sure Widowmaker still consumed bullets from her main magazine when sniping, whereas here the sniper function seems to only use Intel.
The testing that followed made me realize that it's not very Intel-effective to do anything with his Weapon 2's ADS mode unless you have enough Intel for a full charge, because as far as I could tell that mode's damage scales very slowly upwards for the first 4 charge levels, only to then spike massively to 70 for the fifth - which feels off, because while I understand why they'd probably want the biggest expedinture to give the most damage it takes long enough to charge that I can only really see it being used either to open a fight or used from the backline to guarantee a teammate's target goes down.
Like widowmakers weapon is a good way to describe it! And ya tha scaling on the Weapon 2 ADS feels odd, its basically 5 charge or don't bother, even only charging to 4 lowers the damage to 30
(My thoughts for a more consistent damage scale on W2's charged would be something like 10-25-40-55-70 damage. Same maximum, but now it scales linearly to reach that point, so you can actually justify using the charged shot if you're either missing 5 intel or midway through a gunfight.)
@@1stGlitch W2 is his best weapon. W3 makes no sense. why would you want to play Ace that costs intel? ADS in the game is bad because it lowers your movement speed. Hip-fire gives you full movement speed so you can dodge shots. the only time you ADS is when your getting the first shot because that has no risk. W1 does too little damage. W3 is sniper rifle but your better off playing Ace. W2 is only good unique weapon because he gets 70 damage if he fires first but he can still use the auto mode if he has no intel.
@@1stGlitchdid they nerf his rocket? I seem to only hit the targets in the range for 60
