Implosion of the 21-story Dominion Energy office building in downtown Richmond, VA, first in real time, and then in 1/4 speed slow motion. Opened in 1978, it became obsolete when Dominion Energy moved into the new glass tower to its left.
By John Z Wetmore, producer of "Perils For Pedestrians".
This was worth waking up at 5:00 to watch in person
And with that moment, a building in my childhood vanished.
Sorry
This was the old Dominion power building (new one just to the left) in downtown Richmond Virginia. I was there and saw it!
CDI was behind this job. You can hear Doug Loizeaux, Mark’s brother, initiating the final countdown to the building’s explosive demise.
Is this why they raised my rates? Cost of a new building.
My go-to demo channel. Thanks for the upload.
You are welcome. I'm always keeping an eye out for more to shoot.
Work in that building for many years.
Not half-bad looking. Woulda made a nice hotel or something
I loved it when that pathetic company left New Orleans
That's what Tom Benson should have done with their building here next to the Dome instead of buying it ...it has been a dismal business failure..
Ed Debartolo, Sr. originally built it.
