That was my favorite part too! I've been there twice already and I can't imagine visiting Angers without returning to that exceptional museum/landmark. There's also a great restaurant nearby I featured on social media, le 10N9

Merci for this lovely tour of my former neighborhood! When I was a student (79-80), I lived behind the blue gate you caught on your video, on place de la Paix! I walked many of these streets daily. You covered it beautifully! Such wonderful memories.

Thanks so much for this excellent tour. I've been to Angers many times but never knew how much La Doutre had to offer. I will definitely go after I return to Tours next month.

We drove around Nantes on the way up to Mont Saint-Michel, from La Rochelle, this past spring and saw the signs for Angers. I wish we would have stopped here a bit. Thank you Véro!

I'm in Angers almost weekly and ashamed to admit that I have only crossed over to La Doutre once to visit the hospital (CHU). Angers city itself has many interesting buildings and not a few of those wooden sculptures like the hidden one you showed.
Your video is my cue to get over there and start exploring. I suspect there is much more to be seen there also.

I love the architecture! So very beautiful. What did they do with those in the cemetery when the park was done. The hospital area is so gorgeous. The museum looks awesome. Thank you so much.😊

King Louis XVI was a big proponent of moving graves away from city centers (and outside churches) before the French Revolution. In Paris, the 18th century is when the Catacombs (former quarries) started welcoming bones and old medieval cemeteries disappeared. I am guessing the same thing happened in Angers.
