I had a male Ragdoll, he was close friends with my neighbor's cat who would go into the forest to hunt. He would accompany her even though he was not a hunter, he just kept her company while she killed. One day my neighbor accidentally closed her garage door while her cat was still inside locking her into the garage. My cat stayed by the door all night keeping her company and calm until my neighbor got up the next morning and found him at the door. When she asked my cat what he was doing at the door she immediately heard her cat crying in anger and being locked in. Ragdoll's are very loyal.
My ragdoll couldn't stop killing things. I'd sweep carcasses out from under the risers the hay was on sometimes twice a day. Though, we were also under the suspicion he might have actually been a Maine Coon.
@@foodjon383 So you cant really adopt a ragdoll since its a rare/good breed. They are usually owned by breeders. You can search up ragdoll breeders near me.
@You're Jealous then maybe u get them from bad breeders or give them bad diet, my grandpa ragdoll make it to her 14 and still counting. Ragdoll usually live long cuz they dont wander outside the house and pretty chill. But we have to manage her food strictly cuz they can easily get too fat.
Jenny from Floppycats.com has 2 that are 9 years old and healthy and her mother has two that are 14 years old. Her previous Ragdoll lived to be 19(give or take). I think it all depends on diet and making sure to reduce stress.
If you research it now nearly all sites say 15 plus or 15 to 20 the breeder I brought my ragdoll from has a male show cat such is my cats dad and his parents life span was long. Like very long so hopefully my baby will live long too even if it's to 15 years
@You're Jealous well I'm glad yours is a champion mine was worthy of being in competitions and a few times I was asked to put him in but I denied as I don't tend to like using my cats beauty for what ever reason also . During my three year study of animal care and management I have found that most animals that are bred specifically for competitions are inbred and have problems not saying yours is as now and then there are good breeders. However if the cat competitions are anything like the dog ones then alot of them cats would potentially have short lives. However it could of just been bad luck or your cat could of had a health problems eg the heart that no one spotted . However ragdolls average life span is 15 to 20 years . To get a cat to have a chance of a longer life they need to be neutered or spayed, stay indoors ,blood test when they're an adult for heart problems. Diet check ups etc
you can bring a ragdoll from the best breeder ..most of them still don't get older then 10 years old . lucky owners who had a ragdoll that lived longer
Just a few months ago, we lost our precious ragdoll to kidney disease and other problems related to old age. But he was blessed with a very long life: 20 years. We were very lucky. Fly high beautiful boy! 😊
As a ragdoll owner...I cannot stress enough how much they shed. They are shedding machines. It's insane. If anyone tells you they don't shed...they're lying. Once they're older and they lose their kitten coat it's fur city. I love my two raggies they are the sweetest but the fur is likely a dealbreaker for most. I honestly vacuum every two days including their tree, and the furniture; every day in shedding season. I brush frequently and use quality food.
I vacume everyday no matter what so my cat isn't a issue. I also habe a special hair pick up device that's exalent. I live alone and my cat following me always makes sure my depression is at bay.
Sometimes they shed more and sometimes less, but because their fur ist so soft ist flies through the house and sticks to everything. But I don't mind to much because they are amazing.
They do shed, and a lot but i do feel its a different type of shedding then for example my grandma's cat, who is a short haired. Mine sheds huge clouds of hair at once and when u pick her up its easy to remove with a roller as to when you pick up my grandma's cat its impossible to remove and you'll be a hairball all day long... I'd pick a ragdoll with all the fur over a short haired cat any day!
I have a ragdoll and here is some actual usefull information: - very fluffy and the softest thing you’ll ever hold. - lose A LOT of hair my clothes and furniture is full with hairs eventhough if you don’t hug him are touch it. - as a kitten very playfull and will attack and snuck up on you anytime it wants to. Likes to grab legs and feet. Older it will stop but still likes to play. - it’s a little bit naughty because it will slap or follow your others cats and dogs. - very nice and will not hurt you at all (good for kids) - very lazy and if you grab or irritate it it will almost never react (also good for little kids) - very loving and likes warm and quiet places so will come lay next to you alot. - likes it when you pet it while eating. Also likes yogurt and milk but it will make him sick so don’t give it more than a finger tip every day. - heavy, not very much but heavier than my other cat.
"very nice and will not hurt you" okay.. that's any cat who's loved and cared for properly as for a lot of these. Ragdolls are a lot more easily trusting but for any cat your earn it's love and trust. If you antagonize or hurt it it's not going to react well.
@@t0ftik435 A lot of cats are lactose intolerant. If your cat isn't then you can give it a little bit of milk in occasion. My cat loves it and it doesn't give her diarrhea but most cats will get it bad.
StanleyC0718 Every cat behaves differently, so it might be different for your future cat. They definitely fit in a pet carrier as long as you get the right size carrier. If it’s a kitten, then they’ll fit fine in a medium carrier, maybe even small depending how small the kitten is. I got my ragdoll as a 1 year old, so she wasn’t full grown yet but she fit in a medium carrier just fine. She was able to rotate in there, but not move back and forth. My trip was only about an hour and a half, but if your travel is long than I suggest a bigger carrier for an adult cat. My cat absolutely hates being in a car so she meowed nonstop the whole way. Just make sure to have toys and a blanket in the carrier for comfort during the travel. Hope that helps.
Also, all cats can and often do have kidney/urinary tract issues. My cats are 4 years old, and they have never had this issue--at least not yet. Some of these problems can be prevented by making sure the cats get enough water, either through their food, or by making sure fresh water is always available to them.
Yeah I had a seal point mitted that went to 18 and a seal bi color who went to 17. Ellie, the bi color, never went limp when picked up but Missy, the seal point mitted, did.

how do I know if he wants to be held??? I want to hold??? but what if? he doesn’t want it I can’t tell because he can’t leave??? what if he’s uncomfy????????
I do not know where you got your information, but some of it is just flat wrong. First of all, you left out the Calico Ragdolls. I have one, and she is BEAUTIFUL. Also, all Ragdolls do NOT have blue eyes. Mia, my Calico Rag, has big golden eyes. (I also have a seal-point tortie Ragdoll, which I did not hear you mention either. Both were purchased through a reputable breeder, and they are gorgeous cats. You are also wrong about how long they live. These cats can live 20+ years!!!
This information is not correct. Normal minimum life expectantcy for Ragdolls is 16 years but they often live to around 20. Just need to make sure to get your cat from reputable breader.
Ragdoll cats DO NOT have short lives. My last one lived twenty years and even then he didn't die of natural causes. I have talked with other Ragdoll owners and hear of Ragdoll cats living twenty two and they five years. The longest recorded being 38 years! Whoever made that assertion either got bad info of made that claim from a single example of anecdotal evidence.
Ummmm.... No this is wrong. They are actually a very healthy breed beings the fact of the newness of the bloodline also..... 10 year??? 15 years is pretty common span for a rag some living much longer. They aren't even fully grown till 3 years.🤣 Mine current one is 1.5 years and still growing.
Is nobody gonna talk about the fact that she named her cat Fuzzymodo

I do not know where you got your information, but some of it is just flat wrong. First of all, you left out the Calico Ragdolls. I have one, and she is BEAUTIFUL. Also, all Ragdolls do NOT have blue eyes. Mia, my Calico Rag, has big golden eyes. (I also have a seal-point tortie Ragdoll, which I did not hear you mention either. Both were purchased through a reputable breeder, and they are gorgeous cats. You are also wrong about how long they live. These cats can live 20+ years!!!
Julie Parrish Most people weren’t allowed to classify their cats as rag dolls until about 2006 but official ragdolls must have blue eyes
The Ragdoll is a blue eyed, pointed breed.
I have a ragdoll cat and cheese
좋은영상 잘봤습니다 ^^
I have three rag dolls but 2 of them died I have one rag doll alive and another cat
There life expectancy is 17 or 20
Why dont they live very long???
This information is not correct. Normal minimum life expectantcy for Ragdolls is 16 years but they often live to around 20. Just need to make sure to get your cat from reputable breader.
I have a ragdoll cat but he is lost right now ):
They don't all have blue eyes. I have two mink lynx and they have green eyes. That's not the only thing that is false in this video.
All true
Ragdoll cats DO NOT have short lives. My last one lived twenty years and even then he didn't die of natural causes. I have talked with other Ragdoll owners and hear of Ragdoll cats living twenty two and they five years. The longest recorded being 38 years! Whoever made that assertion either got bad info of made that claim from a single example of anecdotal evidence.
kinda bs tho my ragdolls aged 18 and 21. 10years old means you didnt feed them correct
What about pure whites, that’s one color
OOOOOMMMMMGGGGGG
Ummmm.... No this is wrong. They are actually a very healthy breed beings the fact of the newness of the bloodline also..... 10 year??? 15 years is pretty common span for a rag some living much longer. They aren't even fully grown till 3 years.🤣 Mine current one is 1.5 years and still growing.

What kind of dumb names are these bruh
I often wonder what planet the "cats are so cold and standoffish" people are from. Are there clouds there? Do they have TV like we do?
