    Freaking Keenan & Wood Chapter 14, Problem 36 could NOT be solved because the Authors Never provided an example for the MATH involved. Thanks for this brain twister. ln(.5)/t=K, then ln(%)/K=t.

    A commercial anti-inflammatory drug has an initial content of 1088mg/L.It has a half-life of one and a half hour.In how many hours from now will it take to reduce its content to 34 mg/L.

    May I ask your assistance for this problem?
    Iodine-131 is a radioactive isotope used in medicine. Its half-life or decay rate of 50% is 8 days. If a patient is given 25mg of iodine-131, how much would be left after 32 days or 4 half-lives. Identify C, T, R and the decay factor. Write down the equation you would use and solve.

    Solve 1.0g Ra226 (h-l 1620 yrs.) decays in 10 days. What are the amounts of Ra and He?

    Hii what if the A0 is given? Do we still cancel it out?

    • @MathandStatsHelp
      @MathandStatsHelp  2 года назад +1

      It would still cancel out, because it's the same value on both sides.

    • @Arjun----
      @Arjun---- 2 года назад +1

      yes it would. the value doesn't change

  • @Affan_qaiser

    Will we not change days into seconds?

    • @MathandStatsHelp
      @MathandStatsHelp  3 года назад +1

      Since the half life is measured in days, you don't have to. If they asked you how many seconds would it take, then you would have to convert.

  • @minasalah2668

    How did you cancel out the A0 again?

    • @MathandStatsHelp
      @MathandStatsHelp  3 года назад +1

      Sorry didn't see this comment. They cancel out, because you're dividing both sides by A0. Anything divided by itself is 1.
