Writing this 2 years later: a number of things have been changed, especially class and item balance. Tokens are still in the game but the way you acquire them is different. The mod now offers much less "broken (OP)" experience, classes went through a number of balance touches and things have been smoothed out. It's well worth checking it out and after having so many options and combinations available to play with, I can't go back to vanilla now...
@@wilblanco985 It's good...it keeps getting updated as the mastery mods that it incorporates get their own updates (Neidan mastery from Titan Quest is implemented, D3 mastery mod got an update few days ago so DoM will follow soon). The difficulty is vanilla-like, enemies and bosses are pretty much the same. You do have more builds and items to play with, as well as a bunch of new components, so you can make the game easier than vanilla, but there's also an option to massively bump the enemy and hero monster density to make things harder (and more chaotic), and there are hidden Diablo 3 super-bosses that are much harder than vanilla ones... Basically, you have much more options at your disposal, making it easier to tune your experience.
@@LastSecBloomer I understand, it sounds good to me, now a question is that I'm something new haha I really don't know much, for the end game objects do you still have to use the tokens?, or now you can farm the items normally, I don't like the idea of the tokens is the only thing I dislike
@@wilblanco985 You can do both. Tokens just speed things up and make gear acquisition more deterministic, you pick what to craft with those tokens. And ofcourse, you don't have to use them at all, just farm normally. Farming is easier than vanilla, with having an option to increase mob and hero density (if your PC can handle it)...
This is awesome. To complete the perfection that is Dawn of Masteries, it requires one final thing. Allow Dawn Of Masteries to be played with Crucible. Package them together coz I usually end-up with +15 characters and I don't want to play the campaign each and every time. Crucible is much faster to make builds.
I remember maxing out the Base Stats, Shield, & Retaliation skills of my Zenith Necrotic + the Base Stats & Return Damage-Lifesteal from the Zenith Terror Knight & all my Armor, Weapon, Rings etc. had a +1-2 to all skills in Necrotic you just run around or stand there & you literally take no damage 😆
As cheaty as some of these mods make the game. Every once in a while do I actually really enjoy being properly ALL POWERFUL. Like the way the lore makes you sound like. So instead of the foes always being a step ahead of you with levels and damage. It is actually you who is unbeatable. It can be fun, when you play the role properly, it's also relaxing. Just not "rewarding" :P
True, it is quite enjoyable at times My favourite part about this is how its almost like an ode to classic ARPGS, where you can mix classes from diablo 2 and titan quest!!
Dude, how to install? i'm newbie on installing mods on grim dawn, but i have installed this mod and UI not changed, the names still like "Quest_name_1" or something like that, and its for quests, items, class and skills
Drag n drop into the mods folder. If you're having technical difficulties you can ask in the forum post for help. Make sure you go to custom game, not the normal campaign
Do you mean grim dawn reborn 3.0? Honestly I like reborn a lot more, just because it's designed much better since it's made by 1 guy and not 8 different mods by different authours Dawn of masteries is fun to play with all this new stuff, but it can get super messy
They fill different niches and don't really replace each other. Reborn's craziness comes as a result of that being the entire point, but DoM is more so a "stuff" mod where you play it when you want as many options available to you as possible.
Apocalypse is also a really good mod if you enjoyed Cataclysm, which is from the same author. It adds like 8 mostly balanced new classes.
I tried it out, I like it! It feels like a stepping stone between vanilla and dawn of masteries for people who dont want a chaotic unbalanced pack

How is the mod currently, do you think it will be a challenge like vanilla on maximum difficulty?
