      It better to fo banking at a physical bank location because everything is going out of wack with mobile banking they giving hard time to depsot a check now. Doing random blockage without notifying you . I'm mad . You ask why they don't tell you

    So basically I can't deposit a check because I don't have direct deposit set up. The only reason I got a chime account is because my job is not offering direct deposit and chime supposedly lets you upload checks. But you need direct deposit setup lol garbage.

    if you utilize chime correctly it can be helpful - my credit score have gone up faster using it- also pay bill -save money separably without using my official bank

    So they want you to write on the check "Mobile Deposit for Chime only" or something like that. The problem with that is, if the check doesn't go through for whatever reason (app not working, bad lighting, or Chime decides to not allow you to cash it) now you're screwed!! Now you can't cash the check anywhere. No one will cash it for you. The person who gave you the check will have to void it and issue a new check.
    I've been sitting on a State tax refund for a few months because I keep forgetting to bring it with me and I would love to be able to just take a picture and deposit it into my Chime, but there's no way it would be that easy. Every company today makes everything sound so simple and accessible, until you actually try what they're promoting. Then you realize it was all b.s.
    Just write in big black letters PHONE DEPOSIT FOR CHIME ONLY on the back of your state government issued check and take a picture and it will go right into your account.

      My friend has a goverment check he cant cash.afraid of using chime to deposit it then way 5 more days.he needs to buy his car insurance and tag that is expired.....no hope for him.I dont understand Government checks are secured

    I received a personal check from a woman I did work for and tried to deposit it this way and it didn't accept the check, I ended up going to her bank to cash it which cost money because I didn't have a account at that bank, then deposit the cash at walgreens, big pain and cost me money.

This hold time helps us ensure the check clears and allows us to accept more checks through the Chime app. We use a number of risk-based factors to determine which checks require holds, and this means some checks might have a hold while others do not.

      I’m still waiting for my money
      4 whole days with a tooth pain with 0 dollars in my pocket can’t even afford a pain killer
      I asked the source bank and they confirmed that the money already left their bank
      4 whole days after paying waiting for my own money

      Exactly. And for me it is my paycheck that i am needing to deposit... But my employer does not offer direct deposit! So Now I have to find another Bank.

      @@ishmailnewton2507 it was pretty early, before noon, I’m from Idaho. I talked to a service person when I realized my mistake and they promised it would be delivered the same day, then when I contacted them about it again because the money didn’t arrive at the promised time, the other person literally said “oh they lied, sorry, your money will be on your account in two weeks”

    I now have 20 failed attempts at trying to deposit my checks into Chime. Chime seriously needs to fix their integrated camera because it automatically adds a blue filter to the picture of my check everytime I take the picture. It's really frustrating >:(

      2/2/24 my husband tried to upload his check attempts no clearance..sad because we called chime yesterday an the rep said wait for email..WHAT IM NOT UNDERSTANDING THIS...

    The fact that they haven’t fixed the double money in your account bug is insane . So many people out here getting free money from that still. I did it once and expected it to be fixed asap and can still double money now . Might as well start helping others do it 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Yeah so I e deposited many checks through the Mobil check deposit. You denied my legit check from the US treasury because I didn’t write “for deposit to chime only”
    So I corrected that IN PEN. Then Chime STILL rejected this check! Now I’m unable to cash the check ANYWHERE! And your customer service AI refuses to let me speak to a human being.
    This is beyond insane! Thanks for nothing Chime

      Which now prevents me from even cashing the check.

      Hey there! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Here are the other ways on how you can add funds to your account. You can make transfers from an external bank account using your Chime routing and account numbers. There are no limits or fees imposed by Chime on these transfers, however other banks may have their own restrictions.
      You can also transfer money from your Checking Account to an external bank account 💸 You can send up to $5,000.00 per day, with a maximum of $25,000.00 per month. You can receive up to $200.00 per day, with a maximum of up to $1,000.00 per month in transfers from an external bank account to your Checking Account. Bank transfers take 3-5 business days to process.
      Also, you can deposit cash in your Chime Checking Account at over 90k locations with our cash deposit partners. While most retailers charge fees for cash deposits at their own discretion, cash deposits made at Walgreens locations are free.
      Currently, the qualifying direct deposit must be from your employer, payroll provider, gig economy payer, or benefits payer paid as Automated Clearing House (ACH) deposit OR Original Credit Transaction (OCT).

    I'm very disappointed that Chime is NOT UPFRONT with the mobile check requirement. I only found out when I tried to deposit my check today. I opened a chime account a couple of months ago and I received a grant (in form of a check) from my school. They say that I'm not eligible for mobile deposit until I have a direct deposit set up already and have been receiving direct deposit pay. Very very disappointed. If they just say so, I'd not receive this check, now I have to go and cash the check somewhere else.

      They blocked the feature I called and ask them why they refuse to give reason. I have a check from my job and I can't even upload before I can do it with aby check without a problem. . Chime has changed. They lied when the man say we don't know the reason the info is not saying the reason . They know. They might as well be upfront about fraud and they are no lo ger accepting mobile chcek to upload and they told me that I j ave 5o go to another banking institution to cash or deposit my check . . What a nuisance got people running around for nothing. . Very disappointed!!!!

      @@Chime it was accepted took 2 days… now I’m waiting 7 days not 5 for my money. I’ve been with this bank for almost a year and never had problems till now. After this check clears I’m done I found another bank that gives me my funds in 2 days not 9…

      @@timkaron because people do get checks from other places besides their job. The reason you need direct deposit in order to cash checks on the app is in case the check is fake or bounces, your paycheck(s) will be used to cover it, and they have all the info they need to get their money back in case you try to cancel your direct deposit.

    Im enrolled for direct deposit, get my paycheck deposited every week, but won't allow me make a mobile check deposit when I try to deposit checks form my other job. Now I have to pay to get my paycheck cashed in another location even when I have an account mmm

      Thank you for letting me know, now I'm definitely not going to set up any direct deposit with Chime. I feel like chime is not upfront/honest with their requirement so I would just open another bank account. I have right 2k sitting in check form. I suppose I'll just cash it at Walmart or something.

      Hi Sony! Thanks for reaching out. You have to take a photo of the check to upload it in the app.
      Also, be sure to do the following when taking photos of the check:
      1. Place the check on a clean, dark surface without any other items visible.
      2. Use good lighting.
      3. Make sure all four corners of the check are visible in both photos.
      4. Make sure your camera is properly focused.
      5. Smooth out any wrinkles or creases in the check.

      @@Chime I already am fully aware of that. But if someone sends me a picture of a check. You don't allow us to upload it. That option is available in almost all other online banking apps and businesses

    Tried 3 times, chime rejected it all 3 times. Spoke to a rep & the best they could do is tell me to "make sure the picture is clear next time" when the pictures were as clear as day. Horrible system that needs fixing or else we will use a different provider.

This helps us make sure that the check clears and allows us to accept more checks through our app. You will receive a notification when the amount settles on your account.

      Hi Trevor, thanks for reaching out. You have to sign the back of the check with your full name in ink. If your check is payable to you and another person, both people will need to endorse the check.
      In addition, if this is a U.S. Treasury Check (used for payments like tax refunds and government benefits), write "For mobile deposit to Chime only" under your signature.

    What pisses me off about it is that it takes a GUARANTEED 5 days to actually deposit into your account, so I have to wait 5 or more days just to receive my check for that day and it’s infuriating.
    On top of that what also pisses me off is how they say it will be “instant” when it very much ISNT. Even the automated phone system when you call chimes customer service number explicitly states that if you deposit your check before 2pm(PT) or 5pm(EST) that it will load into your account at the end of the day……IT NEVER DID. I have a check I won’t be able to look at till next week…
