I can only think of one umpire mistake worse than this recent in Estoril: Kyle Edmund played Djokovic at Wimbledon in 2018 and in one point, he lost it in THREE different ways, yet he was still awarded the point. Check it up if you haven’t seen it.
The umpire from Nuno Borges and Garin should get a suspension, ridiculous decision, and it cost game and second set to Borges. The umpire only had 2 options, give the point to Borges or replay it, giving it to Garin makes no sense.
For the Estoril drama, another point to consider is that somehow the umpire missed that Garin hit the forehand wide. He doesn't call it out and the line umpire doesn't call it either, which is what Borges is arguing about, sayint that Garin missed his next shot.
i was watching the match live in the stadium, and i can tell u guys i’ve never seen such a ridiculous decision in my life, the umpire literally stole the second set from borges
Such a joke. There need to be serious consequences for mistakes/decisions like that. The fact that the supervisor or any other refereeing staff didn't say something is ridiculous.
Danielle Collins is en fuego. Feels so good for we long-suffering Danimal fans who have had to watch the old guard in tennis constantly diss her for her university energy. Git dat bag, D! We love you!
Max with the chad response, "lets get back to the tennis." 😂 much prefer these smaller draws, the massive draw masters just drag out way too long and feel like they're trying too hard to be a slam but just aren't
Sinner needs to lose again at some point. He's boring and I'm tired of people thinking he'll never lose. I'm worried about Alcaraz. I think he would win but now there's an issue with his forearm. I think he's going to have to pull out. He has Barcelona and Madrid ahead which are more important.
Yeah Sinner might have a tough time on clay because his game is flat and the ball is slower on clay. However, it seems to be his year. Why would you not pick sinner to be a favorite. He will start to lose at some point, but there are no signs of him slowing down anytime soon.
@@JustSlapTennis I have never liked Sinner. I find him to be robotic and lacking in personality. He always looks depressed. I am an Alcaraz fan I love his game and charisma. Carlos will always be my favorite.
I think Sinner is just shy and now that he’s on the big stage and doing well we are starting to see his personality come through. Some of his interviews are funny. He seems like a fantastic, down to earth guy. Alcaraz is definitely very very exciting and has a bigger personality. But don’t count sinner out :)
@@JustSlapTennis Don't count Alcaraz out. Hardly anyone picked him to win Indian Wells and he stopped Sinner's win streak. By the way he's a wonderful guy too. Also from a visual perspective Alcaraz is more physically appealing. 😁The bottom line is we choose who we like and cheer for them.

Yeah that was horrendous..

And I am pretty sure he missed the forehand before that long too…. It makes no sense at all any way you look at it. Atrocious decision.
Great podcast
Thank you so much! Appreciate the support

Danimals!
The line judges also didn't call any of the balls out :/
It was on the level of being classed as Match Fixing
Quite literally. He should be investigated haha
ATP umpires 🤝 MLB umpires
Arnaldi lost to Nagal. And it’s with rune not Medvedev 2nd round
So brutal. Arnaldi did me dirty.

100% agree. Stakes are higher at smaller draw events I feel.
Wow picking to the two best players in the world to win… real original Max
let the haters hate
Hahahahah

Boring?! But the Big Carota hits like a sledgehammer on forehand. (But I'm an Alcaraz guy, too - love his hustle.)
