I learnt this many years ago from this exact tutorial... recently, in my school, we held an art competition, and my art teacher wanted some ornaments that wouldn’t be entered, just to decorate the hall, as an extra object to look at whilst judging the paintings. She decided to make a life-size bell dress out of craft materials, but didn’t know what to do for the roses on the dress. When in class we had free session, I thought of the rose and wanted to make one for fun... our art teacher saw the rose I made, and instantly asked me if I could make a lot for the dress sculpture. Even though I wasn’t old enough to join arts extension group, I was still able to join for a period of time each day because of my rose making ability. Later in the month, I managed to make 575 roses of different sizes, and help to hot-glue them to the dress. The sculpture was really liked by everyone on the day, so it was a huge success! I entered a painting I had made as well, and I won the whole art competition! I was so happy because I had won, and because I had helped to make the best ornament of the night. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial, I’ll never forget how to make a rose. 😊

I know I’m late to the party, but to those who are complaining that this is hard, this is, for origami, relatively easy. I’ve been doing origami for years now, and compared to some, this isn’t very difficult. Not having experience may make this hard, so if you’re having difficulty, I recommend starting somewhere simpler! 😊
If anyone's doing it with paper that have different coloured sides - start on the side with the colour you DON'T want to be seen from the top. (I.e., the colour you don't want the petals to be from above).

Just a bit of advice, use paper whose two sides are different sides so that people using special paper with designs on one side will know what the design will do to the finished origami design. Otherwise good video, it was really useful and easy to follow.

I made these today and gave one each to my parents. My mum thought they were clever, especially how the petals folded back. There were some parts I had to watch a few times but it was fun to just watch and learn and just figure it out without narration.

Yes, it can be any size rose, as the creator had said. In one conversation Bernadette Millares asked "can the paper be 6x6?" and Craft TV replied, "It is OK. But the flower will be smaller." In any case, yes, you can use any size paper.
Thank you. Made pink ones for decoration for my daughter's Birthday. Now gonna make a bunch of white ones and stick it on a cardboard and draw stems to make a rose boquet card for our Pastor's wife for her Birthday. She loves anything hand made, and anything origami.
