      What a treasure you are!
That was such an interesting look into the dynamics of proper diagnosis between
Causes v symptons of an individual's health.
      Q. What can one expect such a thorough diagnosis to cost?
On another note, I enjoyed yr brief tour of your home surroundings and the incredible work your mother has put into restoring the one building for visitors. So calm, so restorative! AND a plus listening to the soft sound of the waves of the sea. That all has so much potential for anyone who needs to get away from the world's disruptive issues!
Sending you lots of good vibes and blessings.

3:23 God I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Gupta....despite being a traditional cardiologist he talks sense. I have been turned into a fkn mental wreck by run of the mill bullshit doctors who focused on my BP (elevated due to white coat syndrome) and my slightly elevated cholesterol and a1C. But i exercise 5-6days a week fairly vigorously for years and eat as healthy as possible and feel completely healthy. Yet they fixated on fixing the numbers and screwed with my head and screwed my life by causing me panic disorder, making me obsess over making the "numbers" perfect. I hate the medical field and going to doctors but thank god there's doctors like Dr. Gupta who have the decency and intelligence to treat and cure patients the right way without ruining the quality of their lives. I LOVED this video and it was so useful to calm my nerves. Thanks

My Holistic M.D. shares many of this doctors practical knowledge and beliefs. The whole body approach. How refreshing - and what an amazing mom!! I'm 75 and on NO medication, just some supplements. I'm not perfect with my diet [I'm about 85/15 % healthy to not so much] and I've been working out daily for over 50. I pray that at 80 I still have all the energy and brain health that his mom has. What an adorable little cabin!! I love it

That a doctor is sharing potentially life-saving information about heart disease in all its sophisticated complexities -- for free -- is quite noteworthy and edifying. And for 18 minutes? When my doctor sees me in his/her office, I can barely get 5 minutes.

I couldn’t agree more with you. I recently had a health checkup and they said everything is fine with you. But I have had an unusual discomfort in my chest and chin for several months, so I insisted in doing a CTA, which I paid by myself. The results showed very severe narrowing in the RI and severe narrowing in the LAD. They immediately admitted my to undergo a PCI. It’s now two weeks since I have two stents implanted and all symptoms disappeared. I believe I was very lucky.
My advice: Listen carefully to your body and don’t believe everything. Be responsible for yourself.

I am 79 and still working for a living.I have an ectopic heartbeat and my partner para afib. We have refused conventional drugs and thanks to your previous videos we have been taking High absorbancy Vit C, CoQ10,Nattokinase and vit D3 and my partner additionally takes an electrolyte drink once per week. I have practically eliminated my ectopic heartbeat and my partners afib has gone from once a week to once every 2 or 3 months and when it does occur it's duration is far less , only a few hours, and it is far less out of rhythm when it does occur. What your videos did was to take away the fear factor first of all and find alternative solutions to the mainstream medical which we learnt doesn't suit everyone.

Thank you for sharing! I had another episode of high BP, which I put it down to stress and high salt intake. The reading was 185/115! I was medicated at A&E for few hours until it returned to normal and then prescribed 5mg Amlodipina. ECG and bloods good and by the 3rd day my reading was 107/85 pulse 87. I'm not convinced I need this tablet, so I have adjusted my diet and lifestyle. After this packet of 28 I will stop taking them I will continue to monitor myself until I have a cardiac echo doppler in June!! Your family holiday property looks 😮 Kenya is on my bucket list.😊

Aloha Dr,Gupta, thank you for all the information. You didn’t mention peripheral artery disease, and this is how I found that at least one artery in my left leg was blocked. I had a CT scan. I’m taking a low-dose of statin, and not only did my cholesterol go down, it was never super high, but the cramp in my leg went away. I had thought it was my arthritis. I changed my diet, and although my mobility is not great. I started exercising as much as I could. It was a complete accident that a nurse perform an ankle brachial test and sent the results to my doctor. Who ordered a CT scan
my question is one. Is peripheral artery disease coronary artery disease as one doctor told me just a vascular problem. I asked to see a cardiologist and my PCP told me my feet looked good so I didn’t need to see a cardiologist but I pressed him and I have an appointment with a cardiologist for a consultation. Thanks to your advice I know what tests to ask for. I don’t have diabetes And my blood pressure has gone down since I started exercising. I’m 73 and I haven’t had many of the tests you suggested except an EKG. Thank you for listening and I love your channel. You are an awesome person and I wish your mom great success.

I completely agree with your reasoning. The only problem is that a cholesterol blood test, an HbA1c and taking someone's blood pressure in the doctor's surgery together will be a fraction of the cost of an echocardiogram or a CT angiogram. I guess that's why we are so often offered the former but not the latter. Of course, if you factored in the cost of unncessary treatement or missed illness that could result from over-reliance on the former, cheaper, tests, perhaps doing it properly would prove less expensive in the long run.

I really have to agree with you about that blood pressure screening. I'm almost 70. I remember going to my doctor, who was very good with me, and when I first got there, my blood pressure was taken right away, and it was 140/100. But I had just walked about 3 miles to my doctor's office, and it was 88 degrees outside! Then he took it again about 20 minutes later, and my blood pressure dropped to 130 / 80, and then he waited 20 minutes more, and it dropped even further to 129 / 75! So as you stated, sometimes external reasons are the reasons that our blood pressure might fluctuate and it's a good doctor when they take that into consideration, and not get too excited and place you on a thousand medicines! Despite my age, my doctor was always surprised that my kidneys and my liver are both functioning at 98%, even my oxygen intake is about 98. My biggest problem has always been my weight. I'm 5 ft 9 and I am currently on a very nice little diet that I created and I hope to be back down to about 175 by July of this year.

How do we get these tests done on the NHSbecause doctors normally only do “normal” tests, for example, recently I went to the doc, she took 3 blood pressure readings, said I had high blood pressure, immediatley changed my medication, and that was that. I asked for an insulin blood test, and they told me that I’d have to go into hospital for that. It’s not easy to do what you suggest under the current NHS.
Your place in Kenya looks lovely by the way, kudos to your mum!

There is another test, which can be done easily at home, which is the ankle brachial index test (ABI), you only need a blood pressure monitor, and it can show early signs of blockage in leg's blood vessels.

Thank you Dr Sanjay for positive approach to assessing nd treating signs of cardiac disease.
I do believe education and early detection of malfunction of retina nd renal funtion , on a regular basis , to aid prevention of cardiac disease, is good for most people. Thanks.
Lovely location for your mum's apartment.

I think rather than always testing HBA1C , fasted glucose should be the norm to see if individuals are insulin resistant if so, then lifestyle and diet changes should kick in before ever becoming a type 2 diabetic.

thanks for the list of tests that might lead to a more accurate picture of overall circulatory health. this is meaningful to me because for years i have had almost perfect lab work and test results but still feel wretched much of the time. this has led me to believe that by the time one has bad lab work it is late in the game. thanks for the property tour, it looks a lovely place in beautiful surroundings, safe travels
