I think one time George Szell with Cleveland Philharmonic was asked, after conducting the entire Ring Cycle from Wagner without a score (I hate Wagner, but still, that's like 12 hours of music) was asked by a journalist: "How did you memorize that entire piece of music?" and Szell said something like: "I did not have to memorize it. I know it."
I can't wait !!! I remember your performance at Philharmonie de Paris, behind the percussionists... I could feel the vibrations on the ground... Amazing !
I was listening to Freddie Mercury's March of the Black Queen, which was a tiny appetizer. Then I had to listen to Rite of Spring and now I ended up here for the desert 😋
When it comes to Little Einsteins, I toatally missed how Katschai's (the villian of Rocket's Firebird Rescue) name is actually based on this part of the song. Clever writers 😉
Love this its so menacing i first heard it on a bbc teen drama codename icarus in the 80s i thought that is amazing wrote to bbc they told me what it was its so powerful
A dance battle between Kashchei's servants and the Firebird. The plea of the 12 virgins. Kashchei's men are put to sleep by the power of the firebird and the maidens' dance in front of the Tree of Life. And a lullaby. A great story by Diaghilev that wouldn't be enough without ballet.
A frightened man in his bed and his shadow turns into a big scary monster that chases him into the closet and out into the streets. Chasing each other and getting away from each other. He wakes up and screamed from his nightmare. He is so glad that “thing” isn’t real.
@@BrianBisetti No, but the entire orchestra is neutral, why should this person be allowed to stick out so much, the narcissism is real in that person.

"an absolute unit"
PERFECT!
0:09 one of the most sampled sound in 80s and 90s Rock, Pop History.
Rattle has the entire thing memorized. The absolute made lad.

I also recently was able to watch a performance of the piece from the choir banks and the percussion really hit my soul
0:45 amazing page turn by assistant principal first
I LOVE part at 3:44, it's so chaotic and gritty! With that polyrythym and all
That's my favorite piece of all time. Its too... unexpected
this music is madness
Heard this live yesterday and years ago Rite of Spring, tears in my eyes, so emotianal experience.
I was listening to Freddie Mercury's March of the Black Queen, which was a tiny appetizer. Then I had to listen to Rite of Spring and now I ended up here for the desert 😋
Why does the recording start without the opening chord?
It's a Demo version
Ironically, I came here exclusively to listen to that opening chord.
I know... sad, huh? That chord is a statement in itself.
That was brilliantly executed !
the first 20 seconds are sooooo good
How incredible orchestra, since the time of Abbado's tenure never has sounded so well. Rattle has made an awesome job in a short time.💖💖
LSO, BP, HR FRANKFURT : my favourite orchestras. Great sound Simon!!
Just watched some Russian skater in a competition change her costume mid program. Guess what music they were playing.
Anna Shcherbakova is her name. I saw her program, too. It's wonderful, especially this part.
This really sounds like an RPG battle theme
Like one winged angel of final fantasy 7
This is the one where you get jumpscared by the one monster you ABSOLUTELY did not want to face and CANNOT escape from.
Reminds me a little bit of “Battle of the Four Fiends” from Final Fantasy IV.
It is Yuzuru Hanyu that brings me here. How wonderful this song is!
When it comes to Little Einsteins, I toatally missed how Katschai's (the villian of Rocket's Firebird Rescue) name is actually based on this part of the song.
Clever writers 😉
It totally blown my mind away!!
I first heard this when I was 2, and it’s still one of my favorite songs ever!
Fantastico ❤❤😂😂🎉🎉Giuseppe Perego Monza 16.2.1962 Grazie
Listening to this at double speed is like a psychedelic experience.
best piece from xx century

Hyper sophisticated music about a Stone Age ritual. Brilliant with or without the ballet. This sizzles.
Did you perhaps confuse The Firebird with The Rite Of Spring?
Yeah you're thinking of Rite of Spring. This is the *other* Fantasia short featuring a volcano.
Bravissimo!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My favourite piece from Firebird.
AVERINA Arina (RGF) - 2021 Rhythmic Worlds, Kitakyushu (JPN) - Qualifications Hoop

And a lullaby.
A great story by Diaghilev that wouldn't be enough without ballet.
Oh no. Video starts just after fantastic first note.
Stravinsky was Beethoven's favourite C20 composer.
My favorite part begins at 4:38.
had to march bass drum for this song as a marching band performance
Which program?!? Oooof!
A frightened man in his bed and his shadow turns into a big scary monster that chases him into the closet and out into the streets. Chasing each other and getting away from each other. He wakes up and screamed from his nightmare. He is so glad that “thing” isn’t real.
Where's the first note?
The 1940s' "Green Hornet" radio series led me here.
After all the horror movies and video games I've played, this music is still the only thing that horrifies me.
Very good
Excellent breadth in volume and fidelity of reproduction.
is this a lbp2 pre-alpha reference
2:58 for percussionist’s refernace
Mysterious music
The Yellow Woodpecker Ranch Movie soundtrack The Cave Off
This song should be in a Disney movie hahaha 😅
Already was! Fantasia 2000...though perhaps you meant a feature film with a single story throughout and not an anthology of animated symphonies.
