she was an amazing character :( I'm quite upset with how the writers ruined her.

Vishka well tell that Julie. She ruined every single character on that show and made everything about Delena. Damon and Elena got a happy ending while everyone else lost everything. Besides they could have made Kathrine a better person and should’ve ended up with Stefan.
I hate it when people say Katherine and Elena are exactly the same , Elena was loved by her family Katherine was not , Elena was not alone she had Stefan , Caroline , Bonnie , Damon etc. even when someone dies , Elena found happiness in despair , Katherine just found more sadness the one person who loved her was her daughter but she was taken away too soon , Elena was not chased for 500 years , People always found the need to help Elena but back then no one even cared about Katherine or even knew she existed , she was too busy running , Elena said “ you don’t even care you ruined their lives “ but she was willing to kill Kol just to complete Jeremy’s mark and killed Finn , she did not even care to think that their bloodlines had innocent vampires and all that to get the cure for herself , HERSELF, she did not ask Stefan , Caroline or Damon , Somehow in the end it was all for Elena , She and people hate Katherine for compelling Damon and Stefan for her when she did that saying i don’t know and i love you to a different brother brother everyday it’s always “ i don’t know , i’m sorry , and i love you “ to a different one everyday which was annoying

As much as I love katherine I disagree. she was pretty selfish most of the time. When her daughter came she basically rejdcted her. she manipulated damon, tried to take eleans place. Threatened Elena's family. Yes at times elena was selfish but katherine sold out innocent vampires in order to save herself

I get Katherine has done horrible things but after all she’s been through? Understand but Katherine was never a bad person she went through awful things and never truly got to live this girl is badass and she did it all by far the strongest female character on TVD so those who hate Katherine for things she’s done she did it all to SURVIVE.

Diversity94 she really didn’t have a reason to redeem herself and if they would have given her a chance in season 5 and actually helped her instead of treating her like a monster when all of them has done some horrible things I think Katherine would’ve been able to find peace she finally had her daughter, so I think Katherine would have just left and spent her life with her daughter if she was given the chance but no everybody chose to torture her and treat her like some evil monster like they are any better than her..

i am so disappointed everybody did except her.
i got instantly in love with katherine since her very first appearance. i think it is because a villain, in a story, has always a untold story that no one never showed.
katherine's story touched me so much. all she wanted was to be loved, to find her daughter and feel protected. imagine being persecuted by a thousand year old hybrid who wants you dead, to find yourself without a family and without your daughter.
katherine deep inside was good.
no one wanted to know her full story or trying to understand how she felt about everything. that's the saddest thing to me.

Katherine was capable of love. She loved her family and her daughter with every part of her. Klaus took that away from her. He turned her into the monster she became. She turned into that monster to protect herself. Never letting anyone else in to spare herself the pain of losing someone else she cares about. She convinced herself that by never loving again she couldn’t break, she couldn’t be harmed. A life on the run made it so hard to trust let alone love anybody. And anytime she got remotely close to anyone they were torn away from her and she was punished. She never got to hold Nadia, she never got to say goodbye to her family, she never got a moment of peace once Klaus came into her life. She really is just a misunderstood, misguided little girl who’s broken and lost. She’s a survivor, and she just wanted someone to love and to love her back without her world crumbling around her.

In Katherines first scenes I didn’t like her at all, as the series went on I understood her more. She went through so much pain, she deserved better and she deserved to be happy
2:20 she was so hurt she couldn’t take her own existence anymore... anytime something cruel happens in the show vampires get to the point they turn off their feelings. Katerina had no one to bring her back. She denied her whole identity for 500 years because she was too hurt to survive.

it breaks me when i hear stefan and a bunch of others say that she doesn't care about anyone, and that she is incapable of love, because that is clearly so wrong. her whole family was slaughtered and she was chased for 500 years to then be hated by her one true live and then be killed by him. in my opinion, katherine deserved happiness, and a future with stefan, because that is what would have made her grow as a person, and if he gave her a chance she would be able to change. she is only mean because hse is broken inside, but if she had people that cared about her it would be different.

Besides all the evil things she has done, she is still left alone with no family and no one to love her and to care for her.

People talk about how Katherine is an irredeemable character because of what she did to the Salvatore‘s but they were just humans and used to feed on and literally every single vampire does this at one point in the series and she didn’t turn them she just fed them the blood and left it up to their father whether or not they would fully transition. Klaus and damon did things just as bad yet they are forgiven in the snap of a finger.

I really don't think what anyone did her justice apart from Stefan and Elena.
Stefan stood by her and Elena forgave her for what she did, I feel like when they made Kathrine go into Elena's body they did her Justice cause she was a sweet innocent girl once why take it away from her just because she portrayes as the villain, she was becoming sweet again when the producers HAD to make her do something which will earn her mare hate.
They should have let her die as a human cause like at least let her die in peace but NO absolutely NOT, they had to make her the bad guy again, like Elena forgave her Stefan forgave her now she would have died in peace but no like she hasn't received enough hate they had to do something from which sje will receive hate.
