It's obvious it must have once been so lovely which your pics display. All this decay since 2013! It doesn't take long. Nothing's worth falling through a floor. Thank you both for the tour of the place... Why did it close? 💛🌟😔

I lived at the Ram Jam mid-1979 to mid-1980 when I was working on the Tornado project at nearby RAF Cottesmore - great times and great waitressses..... :-) The then owner also gave me a trial run in his Rolls Royce, great place and great people, shame it's now gone :-(

It is a shame I did some research into old pictures of this place and it was very smart and very well kept. To see it how it was it’s pretty shocking. These abandoned places always leave and energy and a feeling of sadness to see then end this way.

I stopped many times at the Ram Jam Inn for a decent meal on my way up and down the A1. It's so sad to see it gone.

The demolition of the Ram Jam Inn was finally completed in November 2022 by a developer,,Godwin Properties /Developments who had purchased the site but whose initial application to demolish was refused by Rutland District Council.A subsequent application succeeded so another idiosyncratic landmark on the A1 has accordingly disappeared. As I drove past it at the end of November last year the bulldozers had literally just finished their work. The site will become a business park.
It was an architecturally quirky building, not of outstanding importance, but with interesting historical associations.

I truly believe that that building could of been saved. I don’t like modern buildings they have no soul at all. Thanks for this info Simon.

Wow. I did find some older pictures and this place used to be really really posh. I can’t think how it became how it is now. It’s that bad it’s a demolition now

Well, that’s sad. It was someone’s business dream once.
