That scroll wheel "button" is actually a mechanical switch (not the keyboard kind). That's why there's so much pre/post travel and it's impossible to remap it since it's not electric.
@boardzy on the office mice, like master 2s, the switch is electric and the fast scroll engages automatic, when you scroll fast and the point of fast scroll is adjustable in the software✌️
@@boardzy Been rocking the G502 for several years; love the ergonomics/heavy weight of it; the grip and how my hand contours to it. Although out of all of the buttons I only ever use the Mouse 1, Mouse 2 buttons, the 2 side buttons and occasionally the scroll wheel. I love G502 but looking for a change/replacement something that feels just as good ergonomically; durable, lighter with a really good sensor, good solid clicks/build (little to no pre/post travel) similar side button placement as the g502 and preferably wireless. Any recommendations? I mainly only play FPS games like Rainbow 6 Siege
Garrett I used to use a G502 and I switched from that to a g pro wireless because I never use sidebuttons and the G502 was way to heavy as I run low sens (I also play R6 and when I used the g502 I’d run like 6-6-26) so I’d recommend the G Pro X Superlight or the Razer Basilisk because the Basilisk is nearly the same shape as the G502 and the G Pro X because many G502 users have switched to the G Pro Wireless but the GPW isn’t priced competitively anymore but if you find a deal on it I’d get it.
i remember seeing a video of a guy using this mouse in rainbow six siege and using the horizontal scroll wheel for peeking left and right which is probably one of the few actual good uses for it
To be fair, the G502 is a productivity mouse masked as a gaming mouse. Precise sensor, lots of features, ergonomic design, sounds exactly like a mouse that graphic designers/video editors would benefit from.
The shape, build quality and engineering of the g502 makes it a masterpiece. Obviously the weight makes it not the best for FPS, but it’s still damn good.
@@Neo-fm1dn I've tried the RVU, GPW, G703, Aerox 3, XM1v2, Basilisk Ultimate, G903, and Zowie EC2, yet I still use the G502 because I perform better with it. It's just preference.
the cable is great if you dont bungee it and lay it flat on the desk with enough slack at the edge, where other cables fail and snag. thats the only purpose it has in the face of being absolute horror to game with... also review the wireless version, it makes up for the weight a little by ditching the AWFUL cable completely
I used this mouse for small hands as an fps player at low dpi (around 200 edpi in Val) for 3 months, I mainly used fingertip grip, but felt noticeable drag. Palm felt comfortable, just not for me, and Claw was my go to for non gaming stuff.
I actually own this mouse. I recently upgraded from it to a Model O wireless. When I picked it up again I thought I put weights in it. But no, the weight difference is just insane. But the one thing I miss is the interstellar scroll wheel and the side button placements. That's about the only thing I miss
I currently main a Logitech legendary g mx518. I switched to clawgrip on this wholly palm grip mouse other day and improved my aim/accuracy considerably. It’s 100 grams, the bulky perfect-for-palming shape of this mouse blocks your ability to be unobstructed or free-flowing in movement. A new mouse should arrive tomorrow. My hand size is medium 17 long forget wide
I personally recommend it, some complains of its size and weight, but i do MTB, running and play basketball, but I'm also a gamer, and i don't have any of that problems. People, go outside sometimes, then play videogames too. Keep a balance on your lives activities and you'll be feel better, trust me.
Dope video !! 👍👍🙏🙏 This was my first mouse , I took it back and returned it because I kept accedentally hitting the dpi buttons during gameplay which was total BS. But the mouse was soooo comfortable in my hand , no lie I almost miss the mouse
Big metal scroll wheel with fancy button superiority. Mine also has a rubber cable which isn't what I've seen in some reviews for some reason but it's such a beast other than being the next heavyweight champion of mice. I've thought of 3d printing a replacement honeycomb upper (and maybe lower depending on the structure) body (in resin of course not that PLA garbage) because it really is just so damn heavy but I love this thing despite the weight. It's the perfect mouse for productivity and not bad for gaming. A bit on the gimmicky side with the unusual extra button placements and adjustable weights but nothing that gets in the way. I wish logitech would make a light version.
ive used the g502 before and all you need to know is its a very heavy mouse but if you use it for around 2 weeks youll get used to the weight and it will be a good mouse.
