Often, we care too much because we fear losing approval and affection from others. The need to be liked and accepted is natural, but it can lead to excessive anxiety and a gradual loss of our authentic selves. Additionally, social media amplifies this issue, where every comment or “like” seems more significant than our true worth. To manage this, we need to pinpoint the root of our concern: is it loneliness, fear of failure, or a desire to prove ourselves? Whenever that worry surfaces, ask: “Is the person or situation I’m worried about truly important?” “If I don’t receive that validation, can I still be me?” Maintaining a balance between wanting connection and preserving personal values is key to escaping the trap of unnecessary over-concern.

A lot of good sense in this video folks. I have never cared about what others thought of the way my wife and I have built our life. Certain family members and friends have misunderstood us over the years, but we bought a house without a mortgage in our mid thirties by working and saving and not wasting money. No flash cars, clothes, fixing and making do as much as much as possible by learning practical skills. It works folks. Stop being led by fear of missing out and others opinions. If they really cared about you they wouldnt spend time belittling you. You can also continue being kind and caring at the same time. Thanks for the upload Nischa.👌

My extended family even sounds like yours! Ha ha! My sister-in-law retired at 64 a few years back and everyone was just in shock, she and her husband had always seem to be struggling but my wife knew many years ago what her sister and husband were up to as my wife is the youngest and her sister the eldest of 7 siblings. My wife's sister had been saving her whole life since she and her husband were in their early 20s, putting money away no matter what happned. They'd bought their council house and sold it 20 years later for 10 times what they paid, moved out a very nice house in the country. 7 siblings and no one could believe the eldest sister had all this wealth, one of her brothers even said, "If I knew you were this loaded I'd have been round to see you earlier!", just about sums him up perfectly. The best part my sister-in-law simply said, "Ah, it's all just down to saving a few pennies here and there, nothing more.".
My wife and I are the exact same as her sister as we've been saving 20%-25% of our take home for over 30 years now without fail. Not had a foreign holiday in 25 years, UK camping holidays, second hand phones and cars. I worked my guts out to pay the mortgage off 10 years ago when i was in my 40s but no one in my family knows this. Some nice fat pensions I've overpaid into all thee yeras while "looking poor". Shoud be fun when I get to 56 in a few years time and tell them I'm retiring early!

    • @wannabecompounder
      @wannabecompounder 16 дней назад

Yep. On the friends mocking, that will happen and not going to lie...I do it all the time 😂 However, I don't mock people when they are being real and that's the question only you can answer. The number of hits you have shows that you are smashing it. I also saw the American indian dude review your videos and he was positive so you're obviously doing well - public praise from fellow desis is always a great sign.
On the general part about looking rich, that's deffo a tricky one to shake off for people. The reality is that people just need to go back to basics and assess their resources and whether that is appropriately allocated.

I never thought my parents built wealth we just lived a normal comfortable life with no luxuries. We had a comfortable home in a decent neighborhood. We were always wearing simple clothes. Only way I learned we had wealth was cause of university and I may have gotten curious and asked my parents about a few things and they told me everything. I appreciate the lessons they taught me cause I learned that living on less of what you make and not caring about opinions of others is really what builds wealth. That builds discipline. Whenever we wanted to treat ourselves we did but it was with moderation and nothing extremely lavish. Plus they told me that really people with wealth don’t want others to know cause it attracts the wrong people. Wealth whispers and doesn’t want to be seen, the rich however are loud and want attention. Wealthy people tend to be extremely humble at least our few people we call friends similar to us are like that. Very under the radar people.

You sound just like my daughter! ha ha! She's just got back after finishing uni and we happen to be coming out of TESCO the other week and getting back in the car and she said, "I never knew how good we had it when I was a kid, I just thought that's how everyone lived. We never went without anything, we had food and clothes and I had amzing birthdays and Xmases. I never realised how hard you worked to make sure we had a wage and how you and mum saved our money carefully, I never understood the huge amount of discipline that took."
You think your kids are going to be morons forever but they always surprise you! She's 22 and looking for work but asked me to spend some time explaining ISAs and pensions to her a few weeks back, sometimes you wonder if you're getting through but then you suddenly make a breakthrough.

so there was this period in my life when i kept attracting the wrong people, wrong opportunities, everything just felt…off. i couldn’t figure out why it kept happening. then one day, a friend mentioned a book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, saying it helped them see the patterns they didn’t even realize they had. i decided to give it a read, and wow, it opened my eyes to how much my own energy was shaping my life. seriously, this book is something else.

This is my favorite video of yours, Nischa. Honest, authentic, and vulnerable advice always wins out in the end.
And so timely for me because I said 'no' to attending an annual friends dinner simply because I didn't want to go and I need some recharging me-time from my kids, especially after the holidays. I intended to relax and do nothing but I ended up spending the time creating and posting a bunch of content, and I enjoyed it 100%. That would not have happened if I went to the party.

It's amazing the perspective you get when you realize that all the things you're supposedly "doing right" which make you miserable are actually *abundance on someone else's terms*. This applies to being in debt, being overweight, over-giving to others, pushing too hard in an endeavor you don't enjoy, pursuing a path that doesn't resonate with you. It all puts you upside-down with money, energy, time, emotions, mental bandwidth, etc.
Basically, as soon as you dispense with giving a f*ck about things that you can't actually control, all the noise falls away and you can hear yourself think. The running/chasing pattern stops and you get what you align with. "The day you stop racing is the day you win the race." - Bob Marley

Good selection, I would add one other, which is be prepared to loose the battle or almost every battle, because you’re focused on winning the war.
A good example of this is birds fighting for nuts at a bird feeder. If they fight until their is a winner, they both loose, one more than another. A clever bird will run away from the fight (loose) and come back to feed later.
A really clever bird will watch two other birds fighting, and go in to feed while the battle is taking place.

What you say makes a lot of sense and sometimes even hits hard! Especially that "stop worrying" about what others may think or see is very, very hard ... because we often fight against a habit that has been built for like years or decades in our minds.
Since you talk quite fast and make good points some kind of b-roll to let stuff think in in between the points or a summary at the end of the video would be nice. Or maybe it's just because im not a native Englisch speaker, idk.
Otherwise very important video, I think! Such a shift in mindset could leet to a very big butterfly effect.

I was such a people pleaser early in life. Eventually I found myself in a position where everyone had nasty opinions (the best kind, the kind earned from jealousy) and it was very freeing to stop giving a fuck what they thought.

I can’t recommend Your Life, Your Game by Keezano enough! This book truly changed my life. It beautifully illustrates how connecting with God and prioritizing your family can lead to profound spiritual growth, stronger relationships, and success in every area of life. A life-changing read-don’t miss it
