First off, I love your guys' videos. Two, I love Polaris! Three, I love how you are so active in the comment section answering questions or any sort of feedback. Keep up the great work guys!
Very very excellent quad ...... this is a friend of mine named Mark with his new Sportsman 550 XP .. is truly exceptional. Hello from Italy.
I think atv tv is the most useful place to find info on atvs and I can't wait to see which radial tire is the best so I can buy it
The Outty Max 650 is my favorite 2-seat ATV.
@2354bill6
We did - ATV Television and 4x4TV were on The Outdoor Channel from 2000 through 2007. We left knowing that IPTV was the future - you can watch any part of our programs any time you want, anywhere you want, computer, mobile device, or on your TV through an internet hookup.
@TheScotttP Thank you! Appreciation is our fuel ;-) They certainly both have a few pluses and misses that make them a pretty tough choice. I'd make the choice between the Outlander 500 and the Touring 550 though. The Outty 500 has much better front suspension than the 400. But then that probably messes with the price comparison too ;-) The choice is close enough that you won't really go wrong either way. But having the winch and better tires might sway me.....
I like you videos I just wish you did more group trail segments showing how atv's can bring us all closer together. I live in Michigan an there are a lot of great trails just not many are well marked. I have been looking for a way to take a GPS and be able to log a trail an upload it to GOOGLE MAPS for others to use. I am picking up 3 new outlanders in 3 weeks even tho the season has slowed down. Hopefully I will get some time off and travel to the west coast on an ATV journey with some friends.
@MegaCANAM800 We'd love to. We used to do that. We've got a couple big groups on our website from the 'old' days, but nowadays the manufacturers are a lot tighter with their machines.
The whole thing is my opinion - albeit a rather experienced opinion based on many years in the industry and the testing of many, many, many different machines.
I am not sure. Might have to check the forums for that answer....
The adds don't bother me I'm just glad there is a site like atv tv
I just want to start off by giving you and everyone at ATV television a big kudos. Whenever I search info on these machines, you're usually on the top of the list.
I'm a big time ATV novice, but was looking for a good quality 2-up machine. I've settled between Polaris and Can-am. More specifically, the Polaris 550 touring/Can-am Outlander 400 Max-XT. When you weigh the costs of the Polaris (with winch and bumper upgrades) and the XT, they're pretty close. Any advice for this lost soul?
I suppose you haven't watched any of our other videos? Check out the long term report on this machine and then the video where we install a new winch rope on a Rubicon with 16,000 miles on it ;-)
If you only want to shoot video look at this camera - Canon VIXIA HF G20 HD.
Depending on what you want to shoot, the difference in cameras are the features. Most of the time most people can shoot better video without having too many manual settings. But to get good video (or stills) the secret is a great lens.
You should do a compitition where all the ultilty quads get tested to see which is the best.
@ATVTVCOM Thanks for the quick response! I always seem to go back to Can-Am when comparing the two and I think I'm going to stick with my guns so to speak. I like the idea of having the double A arm on my bikes suspension, so I'm actually leaning towards the 650 max XT. I believe in one of the Can-Am videos you did, you said the 650 was probably one of the best or maybe more efficient was used? Can't remember at the moment.
Any more Can-Am reviews on the horizon?
@McKay1911 Thanks. Have you checked out all the adventures on our website? We've been wanting to do a segment (or two or five) on GPS basics but just haven't gotten around to it - maybe in the spring ;-) We love to use our GPS (we have several Garmins) and track where we've been and upload the trails to Google Earth. It's pretty awesome to do.
We'll really work on getting to that GPS basics vids!
@RisenGuard I'm sorry but I don't see that on the schedule for a long time....
Still or video? A good all-around camera that takes great stills as well as very good video is the Canon EOS Rebel T3i. I think around 700-800 but you still need a big (very large!) card as well as an extra lens and maybe a better mic. Figure at least 1000 or so.
@DrPilotRedC Not sure I see any difference in how we 'used to'. In fact we're planning on going through a lot of our older videos and 'removing' the commercials and mattes we put in them so you'll actually have 'less' commercials!
Will be interested in which aftermarket tires you put on it with the "footwell bracket rubbing" issue. I have a 2011 Sportsman 550 X2. Love it but most of the aftermarket tires are too wide for that bracket and I don't want to do many mods on my new machine. BTW, I don't mind the adds and I like the uniqueness of the voice- and I mean that in a manly and straight a way as that can be taken :)
@TheScotttP Indeed the 650 was my favorite. Hopefully, but all the manufacturers are much tighter with their loaner units with the market like it is.
No problem .
@xXcanamXmanXx Certainly a 'different' kind of ATV that's for sure.....We're going to keep this one for a year so we'll see how all those bells and whistles hold up ;-)
You guys always have good videos.
Looking to buy the Honda Rubicon or the Polaris Sportsman Touring, which is better
@MrEarthmover The companies must be willing to send us test units for us to be able to 'test' them. CF has not.
@Perfect5Recurve My pleasure.
You should see if you can make a show on tv like speed or spike
What about a competition between Arctic Cat, Polaris and Can Am´s touring machines?
I am on the fence and would love some feedback from some riders on either the Can Am outlander 100 and the 2012 XP 850 HO. I have seen a lot of videos on the 850 but not a good head to head with the 1000. I have only been able to ride them in a parking lot. It is kind of hard to make a real decision as far as handling, suspension, braking etc. I saw one test that said the braking and that the suspension gets soft.
Nice video! Good Review! What camera did you use?
@amccoy5151 Hey - thanks. It's obviously very important for us to have the ads as without them there would be no us ;-)
As for the voice - thanks for that 'manly' comment too. I'm getting used to the 'unique voice' comments but still find myself taken back at the 'irritating' comments......
@trueps3fr34k I don't want this to sound wrong, but check out some of our reviews (and projects!) of the Grizzly. We've even got our first ride on it up in Montana!
The best was to find all these is to go to our website and you'll find all the reviews categorized by year, as well as lists for projects, adventures, and more......
@Epicman249 Honda hasn't supplied us with any test units for several years....
so do the new polaris xp line have plastic bearing carrier's in the front differentials im looking at an xp 850 and my other choice is can am... just sold my 2003 650 prairie, 2 gripes rear oil brakes and cold blooded engine in fall and winter.... want to go to fuel injected...
@p7373 I know it's irritating but we're trying to get more people to realize we have all these videos (AND WAY BETTER CATEGORIZED!) on our website....
what would be better a sportsman 550 or the grizzly 550
Looking to buy the outlander max 1000 or the Polaris Sportsman Touring, which is better.
thx, but could you recommend any one?
Thank you. In Russia Rebel T3i is named as 600D. But this Canon chipper then 60D or Mark II. Is there different and reasonable to pay more? Just to record video.
@ATVTVCOM So I take it you have asked?
what would u say is better sportsman 850 xp or a grizzly 700
@DrPilotRedC And You Tube isn't? As unfortunate as it may 'seem' all the ads (especially those on our website) are how we make the money it takes to produce all these videos.
So you may hate 'em, but visiting 'them' will help keep the videos coming! And maybe even get the banners removed ;-)
Every time I come across one of your vids the bad is always just your opinion
@MegaCANAM800 Much appreciated...After all it's them 'dang' ads that pay our bills!
So click on them for us !!!!
Hi what do you think of the yamaha grizzly 700? Im getting it soon
@ATVTVCOM And on that note I can't tell you how many times I've been recognized from people just hearing me talk! I guess if you can't have memorable looks you have to settle for memorable sounds ;-)
@Perfect5Recurve I was tempted not to answer this - just because ;-)
@MegaCANAM800 Star sounds a bit big for me - perhaps host is a better title ;-)
Somehow when I think of 'star' I think of big houses, fans, nice cars, lots of,,,, oh well, it was fun while I was dreaming there.
@panterask8r14 And what should he do about his voice? I'm pretty sure he was born with it. You have to admit though, you'd know him when you heard him;-)
Grizzly. Better 4wd system, better transmission, better engine braking, and better brakes! Oh, and better reliability.
@miller411ful Check your local classifieds or Cycle Trader to find out the prices of used machines. Check out the specs on our videos to find the sizes of the gas tank and tires.
@MrEarthmover Indeed!
how about a test of the CF MOTO. I have asked this of you 12 months ago & still nothing only the big brands whats the go ATVTV "corruption"? you have reviewed Kymco's so I'm not sure big brands are the answer. CF Moto are really taking off here in Australia
thanks man
Maybe the best thing to do is to look for a clean, low mileage Japanese model. You can save thousands over a new one and they'll last you forever ;-)
In your experience test driving these Polaris atvs have you noticed the longitudinal cvt design better or worse compared to old CVT design? I realize it creates a narrower seat, but just curious how it performs mechanically in the long run compared to old design.
No difference as far as I can tell in operation.
@MegaCANAM800 Thanks.
I've tried to find the trunk that you install after removing the passenger seat. any information on the part number or where to find it?
The dealer should know....I'll see if I can find a number on the one we have - if I can find it :-)
Suzuki King Quad, Yamaha Grizzly, Kawasaki Brute Force
@cdbr4 That would be a god one..
Is there any pros or cons of the 2015 touring edition polaris 570 with EPS.looking to purchase one in the next week or so?I about 65%of the time in muddy tight trails and I don't spend much time heavy mudding thanks for ya'lls input
+Danny Davidson Simple ATV at a good price. Decent power and handling. Questionable reliability. Compare it with the Can Am Outlander Max 500 L we just tested. I really liked that machine.
Are you the star of the show ?????
can you move the banner at the bottom i dont mind it i just dont like it there the hole video
Most of our cameras are Canons.
@ATVTVCOM your website is chalked full of ads.
@flybike20 Thanks.
@ATVTVCOM Thanks for not being that guy =D
@ATVTVCOM I used to really like you videos but you don't make them how you used to.
Il take a honda please
Sorry. You've lost me for what you are asking.
YAMAHA! = NUMBER 1
Grizzly by a long shot.......
i think this has way to many bells and whisltes it dosent feel like an atv any more
His voice bugs the hell outta me. Don't mean to bitch about it but damn. Good reviews though.
For video. Its not so match.
lol no sportsman is way better.
