    • @Daigon95
      @Daigon95 Месяц назад +6

      The lower clock speed really only matters in Production/Content creation tasks, when the tripled L3 cache of the 3D chip more than makes up for that drop; Regarding gaming overall.
      Because even if you get the 5800X3D instead that has the "normal" clock speeds, it's still only a 5 to 20fps avg diff with the 5700X3D; Varies by game.

I’m currently on an i5-10600k with a 3060. Not entirely sure what to do, I would’ve liked to have an upgrade path on my current build but it seems I fucked up in 2021 building for the future. Unless you know of a LGA1200 socket cpu that would match the price to performance of the 5700x3d or even 7500f. LGA1200 in that price range with the Performance I’ll take in a heart beat just not sure if it exist. If it does I’d just upgrade well obviously cpu, already have gpu lined up, than eventually upgrade to 64gb of ram or something, for days I’ve been trying to figure out what to do and every RUclipsr hasn’t been able to id appreciate your help.

    All the tests I see are at 1080 and yours even at 720, it's normal that the CPU isn't enough with a 4090. Nobody would play like that except in competitive games. It seems more realistic to me to also test other resolutions to see if it's worth jumping to AM4 or not for 1440 or 4k.

    • @imnosuperman61rus50
      @imnosuperman61rus50 Месяц назад +1

      This makes no sense, because as the screen resolution increases, the requirements for the processor tend to zero, in inverse proportion to the load on the video card. The difference in processor performance can best be seen in lower resolutions, because the higher they are, the smaller the difference in frames.
      P.S. Sorry for Google translation

    • @halifax9254
      @halifax9254 Месяц назад +4

      @@imnosuperman61rus50 That's the point though. Yeah, you'll see a bigger difference in performance at low resolutions, but realistically the vast majority of 4080/4090/7900XTX owners are at 1440p or 4k. A 40% uplift at 720p doesn't matter if nobody is using a 4090 for 720p. A better metric to benchmark would 1% lows at 4k. You might not get better overall fps with a better CPU, but you might get less stutter/frame drops.

      You test processor performance at low resolution where CPU gets packed with frame requests, and how stable it maintain the timeframe, and you test GPU at highest possible settings and resolution to test GPU capability to render these frames, it was like that from years, or maybe you want 1080p CPU tests being done on some bloody RTX 3050 where you can get away with ryzen 3600 because GPU is lacking itself?

      If you want a little more from your 5600x just install an aftermarket cooler. No need to use much for it and the original basic cooler is ok if you don't mind its whirring sound.

      Edit : After downloading chipset drivers, updating my bios etc. I didn’t gain fps. I found out the problem. My GPU undervolt was causing lower fps and my ram speed was down to 2133mhz instead of 3000. Once I turned the undervolt off, I noticed a 10-20+ fps gain. I still have stuttering issues but maybe that’s because of my mods. I can tell for the most part that my fps is solid and the stuttering is a little smoother but it’s still noticeable for me in cyberpunk. I played dying light 2 and noticed like a 20-30+ fps gain as well.

    I’m really considering getting the 5700x3d for cyberpunk, I play it a lot. I have a 4070ti and a 5600x and I play at 1440p. Can I expect to see a similar performance increase if I got it? I know you’re using a 4090 but it seems like 10-20 fps more.

      @@romandulce999 I’ll definitely consider it then! I really don’t feel like getting a new motherboard, ram, etc. I might settle for this one. On cyberpunk I get stuttering issues but nothing that’s too huge. It’s still noticeable though.

      Almost nothing will change. Better resolution requires a better GPU, not a CPU. He uses a 4090, and both of those CPUs are bottlenecking it. I have 5600x with 4070 super now and there is no difference in fps between 1080p and 1440p (at least in warzone3, cs2, rdr2 and deadlock). Even though I use 4 monitors :)

      @@internethikka no, i'ts not the same. When you active DLSS and or RT even in 1440p the cpu struggles in games like Spiderman or The last of Us.

    Fake or wrong tests! In Starfield (New Atlantis) I have 75+ fps on my rtx4070 + 5600x in 2k resolution!! On video we have 65fps in 1080p with 4090!!!, its impossible.

    • @BENCHMARKSFORGAMERS
      @BENCHMARKSFORGAMERS  Месяц назад +4

      The benchmark is correct! The sequence is very cpu intensive and the rtx 4090 doesn't play a role, I would also hit the identical fps with the rtx 4070 super.
      I use CapframeX for AVG and 1% low FPS. Capture time 40sec, 3 runs.
      If you want to reproduce this test, use the exact same graphic settings (without fg) and run the same path. And for recording the fps - CapframeX
      Btw. you find a CPU-Z validation as proof in the video description in every video.
