they're both just awesome! i like the fact that you can move the gimmick for extractor v2 and leatherbound is just fascinating - i still got no clue how it works exactly, but no wallets or any wallet is definitely a win for me
Love both of these tricks! I looked briefly at the original Extractor previously and I was amazed by how easy it looked and how impossible it was. This updated version is great because of using the gimmick in another deck. The gimmick sounds really ingenious. Leatherbound is also really fun to perform, impossible and direct. These gimmicks make me feel excited about performing and using them in different ways.
Another great week of Unwrapped. Both these effects are impossible location effects that uses gimmicks that completely devious and covert. I like effects where you know it will work because of the gimmick. The reactions for both are great as both are direct and seem impromptu. Love these effects.
I think that Extractor 2 seems like a great utility device to have in your magic set. However, I really like the folded up prediction card kicker - it's folded up so you can reveal that the value of the prediction card is the matching one, and then follow with the kicker signed spectator's card. You probably can't do it with this, but this is a great direct effect. Leatherbound seems like it has a ingenious method/gimmick. I think that the movements and taking out the card and receipts flies by without notice like in Kyle's performance. This is a great impossible location gimmick to have.
Extractor V2 is a wonderful device and I'm sure I will be picking one up before long, but I'm currently using the previous version. I love what it allows you to do. I don't have any negatives about it. Leatherbound looks cool and I like the premise. I'm not familiar with it so I can't say anything beyond that for positives at this point. The only negative I can see at this point is that it seems a little fumbly and not as elegant as some other methods. However, that may be a good thing as it appears organic. This probably wouldn't be my preferred method for a regular gig, but for carrying around for daily use it may be great.
I find unwrapped awesome. Seeing someone else's point of view, especially independent, is invaluable. I've purchased some of the tricks as a result of your reviews, including Predichange and Heinsteins dream. Leatherbound looks like it's going to be on my wishlist! Brilliant trick and I'm keen to perform it. Look forward to next week's unwrapped!
Another great week of reviews. I have to say both effects are extremely good from first view. With Extractor V2, while I think it's a brilliant utility gimmick, it's probably a bit more restrictive in the sense that you'll have to dedicate a card box that is gimmicked for it. Also, the price for it is quite dear for me personally. With Leatherbound, I think it's extremely organic to have that spectator's card seemingly appear in the stack of receipts. That image kind of throws the specators off any sense of a gimmick in play since it's just what looks to be an ordinary stack of receipts which is very common for everyday people.
Extractor v2 : - Positive : Extractor is one of the most genius tool card magic ever. The mechanism is brilliant. And opens many possibilities that we can do with card routine. Something that really seem impossible in the eyes of the audience. Signed card can travel wherever we want. And it's very very cool. - Negative : I think one negative thing about this product is when the card transfer from one place to another is happening is not seen visually in the eyes of the audience. But it's not a big deal. Due to the effect that we can get from this tool is very great and cool. Leatherbound by dave forrest : - Positive : Card to wallet is one of the magic tricks that magicians have always loved all time. Always get a great reaction when playing it. And I think leatherbound from dave forrest is the right tool for this routine. Looks very impossible. Wallet can even be shown from the beginning of the routine. And looks very very cool. As seen in the video when Kyle did. Greta job Kyle... - Negative : Perhaps if the spectator itself that took the card from the wallet will be even better. And I think will get super reaction if the signed can travel to spectator wallet. But still a great product.
Extractor 2 and leatherbound both suit my style of magic. I like cool and ingenious utility gimmicks that I can use to fool the socks off my spectators. Like Sharpie Through Card, I bet this gimmick is perfectly made by Rob Bromley. I love tricks where I look at the gimmick and smile at the ingenuity of it all. Leatherbound is also gimmicked and seems very incredible. I love this week's effects!
Another great show! Extractor 2 looks epic - I really like utility gimmicks. The effect is direct, looks amazing and packs big. Leatherbound is pretty cool and caught my attencion, especially when you said the gimmick is clever. I love Dave Forrest's material because of the ingenious methods. Both are direct effects that are impossible and can be goto magic.
I checked out the cost of Extractor V2 it is $80. What would make this so costly? I am relatively new to magic, and have not purchased these type of products before, so I was surprised at the cost, when most of the other products are between 20 and 30 dollars. Both were very similar....How quick is the reset with these items? Gadi
I like the fact that both tricks are quick, direct and impossible at the same time and memorable for the spectator. I prefer Extractor 2 because of the simplicity of card to pocket and the "utility device" aspect. I think Leatherbound seems slightly messy with the wallet and receipts. I would seriously consider trying both of these effects as they are amazing and mind-boggling for the spectator.
E2 looks great. I would get a lot of use out of that utility. Leatherbound was interesting. I do a card to wallet now, and have a few wallets I like, but the any wallet idea, and what appears to be a no-palm method looks fun.
Excellent show. I think you could combine Extractor 2 and Leatherbound. I think Leatherbound could be an excellent mentalism tool. Really, both have endless possibilities!
Extractor 2 is a more adaptable version of the original gimmick which is perfect for workers. I like the directness and impossibility of this card to impossible location effect. Leatherbound is also of the same type of trick but uses a wallet - an everyday item. This makes the effect seem impromptu and seemingly normal as you casually remove some receipts with the card. Great effects!
Funny, I just went back and watched the original Extractor demo video. Could have sworn it was a card to wallet effect. Still impressed. Still want it. Leatherbound looks good for the price but I have soooo many ways to get a card to a wallet (many wallets) or anywhere I would please that not worrying about heat on my hands or my moves sounds a little boring. That said, after your review of E2 I will put it on my Christmas list and hope I've been a good boy.
I love both of these effects, I love extractor as the gimmick is very clever, I cannot afford number two at the moment so it would be brilliant to own it. Leatherbound looks great too, I was tempted by that effect as it will probably be one of my go to effects in my wallet if I buy it or get it. Thanks for these reviews Kyle, it really helps me look at the new effects which get released. I also can't wait for horizon as I am big into invisible thread.
Both effects seem impromptu and easy to do. Extractor 2 sounds amazing as the device allows you to perform the impossible. The trailer shows an amazing mentalism routine and there are so many more routines you can think of because of this ingenious device. Leatherbound seems fishy in the demo because of the receipts in the wallet concealing the card. Apart from that moment, it is a great gimmicked effect.
Both of these effects seem to be very nice. I think it would be cool to try and combine the two to create a super clean card to wallet or you could have two cards selected and signed, do leatherbound and load the second card into the wallet as you take out the first. Hand the wallet to the spectator and you then have a multiple cars to wallet "in the spectators hands".
I really liked the E2's great utility, but if you have the first one, it does not appear to have a big difference (it appears so from the trailer) but it seems as if it is very useful. I don't like the fact that you need an extra cardcase, but I think it's one of those things that you use in the real world once you actually play with it. I like LeatherBound, as it appears more organic because of the receipt and it's your wallet, but i don't like the fact that it takes a while to finally see the card, as in CTW i think it should be the spec that removes it.
Both effects are awesome. I always wanted an extractor gimmick, the trailer that a signed card goes to a different color deck and the deck is in order and the card is where it should be looks soooo good. I might do that with a card to sealed deck. The Leatherbound is another winner. I do not have any special wallet to do this stuff and I have been looking for one routine without special wallet, that's the one always ready in your wallet and I think that is instant reset so perfect for walraround magic :)
Extractor V2 was really cool how you can pull the card from the deck in the box. Leatherbound was awesome. I have always wanted a card to wallet effect.- it said I was not subscribed but I did last week? It's all good I'm subscribed now.
Extractor 2 is direct, miraculous and impossible. The idea of a utility gimmick makes it that much better - I love these types of gimmicks. Leatherbound looks awesome and I bet the method is even better. I love to perform card to mouth/ forehead and these effects would follow perfectly as a card to impossible location. Both are great gimmicked impossible effects.
Really like E2 ! really nice performance as i like card to wallet myself but never own one of them (ironic i know) i like how clean E2 is as i never own E1 nor E2 . But leatherbound doesn't seems "Clean" and quite literally as i prefer to have all of my stuff neatly put in my wallet but it is still a nice piece of art(Card to wallet) love it
E2 - Liked: That the gimmick can be modified to work with any deck... excellent! E2 - Didn't like: In the trailer for E2, the performer gets the card in-order into another deck... but I haven't seen this done in any reviews, so I'm assuming that's a variation that isn't taught w/ the trick. Leatherbound - Liked: Strike that - LOVED that you were able to get an enthusiast response from a not so enthusiastic audience. Leatherbound - Didn't Like: Looks like it's just a DVD, that is to say no gimmick - and I think DVD-only magic should be offered as a downloadable.
Leatherbound get greats reaction, I love it !! Extractor V2 reminds me of signed card to sealed pack by shawn farquhar, the effect is really similar, execpt obviously the sealed pack part !!! I think the fact that the pack isn't sealed makes it more believable, but I don't really know...
I liked both because they all have great effects when you do it right but from the video it seems if you do one thing wrong (especially the leather wallet) everything goes wrong! And on a different note next episode you should do the invisible deck and/or brain wave deck
Kyle likes to do new products that may not have too many reviews, since most people probably don't want to see yet another Invisible Deck review, especially since a ton of people have it.
I think that Extractor 2 seems like a great utility device to have in your magic set. However , I think these two can be combined together ... Steal the card from the card box and appear in the wallet , i really like these two effects ! . For Leatherbound , I think it is great as well , but placing the things from the wallet on the deck seems suspicious ... But overall ... This is a great impossible location gimmick to have .
Extractor 2 is a very clever and deceptive effect that has many possibilities. The magic is strong and impossible which is great when you want to perform something quick and easy. Leatherbound was amazing and casual looking - laymen don't pick up on the 'moves' we magicians know about and look for. These effects are both cleverly gimmicked and impossible.
I thought e2 was great, especially liked the ability to use different decks. Leatherbound looks good too, Would work great for me, cause my wallet is always a mess
E2 + Great utility device, it doesn't go any cleaner: + Spectator can really push and "loose" his card in the middle of the deck !! - Pocket space (up to three decks in use . . .) Leatherbound + It's from David Forrest (always clever gimmicks, thinking and routines) - The performance doesn't look that clean and direct (to much handling) Magic Greetings from switzerland Magic Chris
E2 +: It's clean and, being a utility device, can be used in many ways. E2 -: It's rather pricey but better value than E1. Leatherbound +: Good impact. Leatherbound -: Messy and illogical. Why would you pull the receipts out?
The Extractor is far easier than Leatherbound. Once the spectator has returned the card to the box it is free to be put anywhere. It's got a skill level of zero - allowing you to concentrate on performance. Leatherbound is a bit fiddly and relies on the same principles as most card to wallet moves.
Extractor V2...the removable gimmick is a PLUS for me because you may use another brand of cards...or if you use bicycle end the card box worns when is in your pocket you can replace the box for a new one. I dont like the price. I dont know this one but the first version was almost $100...a lot of money for a card gimmick ! Leatherbound...The idea of having the card on the middle of receipts and credit cards is clever...anyhow the moment of the revelation...the "card" its too close to the deck.
Extractor 2 is awesome but it doesn't get great reactions, like in the video...but it is simple and the spectators has no idea what is about to happen...you can also do it anytime and anywhere Leatherbound is also awesome because it seems impossible to the spectator and gets great reactions. You usually bring a wallet with you so you can perform it anytime...I am fooled by this.... Kyle did a great performance!
Both these effects are impossible and direct. I like Extractor 2 more because of the utility gimmick involved and the endless possibilities it has. Leatherbound is also good as it uses an everyday object - a wallet.
they're both just awesome! i like the fact that you can move the gimmick for extractor v2 and leatherbound is just fascinating - i still got no clue how it works exactly, but no wallets or any wallet is definitely a win for me

E2 looks great. I would be interested in exploring some other applications of it. Love the visual of card to messy wallet in leatherbound!
Both look awesome! Its cool to know that youre not stuck using the bikes if you don't use them!
I find unwrapped awesome. Seeing someone else's point of view, especially independent, is invaluable. I've purchased some of the tricks as a result of your reviews, including Predichange and Heinsteins dream. Leatherbound looks like it's going to be on my wishlist! Is leather bound any better than Cameron Francis any card to any wallet? E2 looks cool but are there more routines?
