- Hey everyone, my door locks suddenly stopped working on my passenger front door. Note, they were working and clearly still have the metal rod (that is sometimes removed by police)
The rear passenger has always been dodgy, so I finally took a look at it. Was much easier than I thought and I'm clearly no pro. Here is my first "How-to"..
Hey thx for the help man 😀👍🏻! We just did what you said on our son’s 2008 Crown Vic & it worked like a charm! Utica, Michigan here
A. Brilliant quick fix
B. "Bob's your uncle" ...adding that one to the verbal tool box 😂.
Was a quick fix for the same problem on my Marquis passenger door. Used a zip tie with 40lb tensile strength. Avoids removing the actuator, and uninstalling and reinstalling the actuator mounting bracket. Thanks for the tip.
An English fella with a crown Vic? Thought I was the only one 🤣
Can you do the same thing in front drivers side? Since there is no extra window is there something to zip tie it to?
great video, that was helpful
Thats an aftermarket actuator. It should be riveted to the door. The way its sitting naturally in the video is off a bit. Rotate along the vertical, 90 degrees. Its why its best to not mess with the factory river and just pop the actuator from the square bracket!
Bob's your uncle😄
Blimey, haven't heard that in a while.
Thx I just bought a Grand Marquis and this is my fix I'm sure
Thank you
Having this issue and going to do this. Thanks
